A rare non-fluff piece RPG review. There's something weird going on in the RPG industry. It's as if most publishers are breaking their games on purpose and in a way that's hard to spot unless you actually play them. Maybe a really solid RPG causes problems with long term profit? Maybe this next RPG we all rush out to buy will be the one.

From what I've seen, it's easy to play. Step 1: roll characters. Step 2: start the adventure. Step 3: Roll characters. Step 4: continue adventure. Step 5: roll cha... you get the picture.

You've doing a how-to-play overview, and just finished a campaign, but might not even get all the rules right? Why wouldn't you wait to make the video with better notes/script or edit it so that it is 100% correct?

The way you pronounce Zweihänder is a little funny to me. You pronounce the händer part correctly but you pronounce zwei with the anglo w instead of the germantic w which is a v sound. It's a common mistake so I'm not trying to dog on you for it it. when I was first learning German words I use to pronounce it Z W Ei Hander instead of Z V Ei Händer so forgive me if I take a little humor in the mixed pronunciation of Z W Ei Händer. 😂

I wonder what it would look like to offer each player the ability to earn Willpower each successful day of exploring, or maybe when the team does cool stuff as a unit? Otherwise, yep, that tends to make magic users feel rather useless. Thanks for the commentary!

Would spell casting work with a Power Points system, instead of Willpower? A spellcaster would get a certain amount each day. Maybe a sleep action recovers them.

Thanks for this. I was surprised to see that more than one 'Trained' level skills can apply to the same stat roll. Does that mean that if Zoology (+10) AND Pathology (+15) both applied to a stat roll, that I would get +25?

How could there be no distinction between small damaging but hard to hit monsters and large damaging but easy to hit? Nothing in your attack roll accounts for the size or evasiveness of your target.

I wish it would be translated into Polish... I would love to play Zweihander, but not everyone at the table (including me) is fluent in English.

I'm not sure I like the immortality option. I like the idea that anyone with a shank is a lethal opponent. I'm not sure what are meaningful consequences short of death aside from permanent disfigurement that is disgusting to behold or a permanent, crippling injury. But I do like that combat is faster and that any weapons, including knives and daggers, can be lethal.

Love the overview, i am looking to run the game in the near future. As of the "problem" with willpower for spell casters cant this be circumvented by casting transfer on a knockedout enemy?. Its a general spell open to anyone allowing you to "steal" a enemys willpower, and since they are knocked out they dont resist your attempt. So spend 1 willpower and transfer all the enemys will, makes for a pretty cool dynamic 😉.

As another asked, will there be a chance to late pledge for Reforged? Or when will it be available for purchase? Thanks.

So can i add a permanent language to my character after the game has started? I had the option to add it during creation but for some reason didnt, but ive changed my mind. Would that be allowed? Ive just started playing for the first time so im learning as i go.

Okay, I received my early KS supporter deluxe set yesterday. So received 2 quarter of 2024. So about 2 years late but It is finally here!!

a few years ago I was admin of the lamentations of the flame princess discord. I had joined the Mothership discord and had spoken to the devs quite a bit, they seemed very nice. The girlfriend of Zak, a LotFP adventure writer, posted a huge allegation of physical, verbal, and sexual abuse against Zak. Immediately most of the OSR devs sided with the girlfriend and I said in the LotFP discord, not the mothership discord, “We need to hear both sides of the story before this turns into a witch hunt and Zak is wrongfully cancelled.” Well this exploded with negative reaction because most of the OSR devs follow the: BELIEVE ALL WOMEN! Mindset. I wasn’t saying she was lying I said we needed to be logical and get all the facts. The mods of the mothership discord went to other OSR discord I was in and tried to get me kicked out. I was banned from the mothership discord. To this day I have tried many times to talk with the seemingly friendly devs of Mothership and they wont let me. You either cancel what turned out to be an innocent man or you aren’t one of them. So, after Zak got proof that the girlfriend was lying nothing has changed. Zak is taking everyone to court that tried to cancel him. Most of those devs you’ve probably heard of. The dev of electric Bastionland, the dev of Gardens of Ynn, Mothership, and lots more. I don’t hate the mothership devs, but I’m a customer and was mistreated so every chance I get I warn people about these devs. I’d love to talk with the devs and put this behind us. I’d delete every post I made online, but I know they won’t talk to me. Maybe this new edition will sell enough copies to cover their legal fees when Zak takes them to court.

Heya, first let me say it's cool to see a LOTR 5E game stream! Nice art and presentation overall. Not trying to be "that guy" - just understand something: I'm curious as to why you decided to show the players the Lore Master's (DM) hex map that indicates the colors/threat level? Are the players not "supposed" (RAW) to have a non-color coded map to plot out their path and then present that to you for a cross reference for events? I could see revealing the "difficulty" (color) of a particular hex/adjacent hexes if someone made some good pathfinding checks (Travel/Explore) but it seems like you've broadcasted the difficult hexes and effectively shown them the "optimal path forward," which I assume was intentional. Just wondering the reasoning behind that. I'm guessing it was more for the audience of your stream to understand the hex crawl dynamics?

FASERIP is the classic supers genre game. This seems like one heck of a potential successor.

We just mixed willpower up and you gain one point for resting and a guaranteed 1 for pushing. We also give one for defeating an enemy. It helps a lot

seems I missed the kickstarter by 3 days...I only just found Zweihander and only just discovered Reforged while googling some rule clarification. Love what i've seen in the start kit so far, clears up some of the more fiddly parts and the layout is SO much easier to parse.

Sorry, no offence to this idea. But to get good exposure and spread this, there has to be a better mixing of that low quality mic. It's plain to see you are no kids. I'm 40, and I just cannot bring myself to endure that high-pitched, scraping of my ears. I've had my fair share of headsets, and my hearing is as damaged as the rest in my generation. I'm have my active noise cancelling, awesome Sony headphones on, so it really tears in there. Maybe run the vid through a sound mixer once.

I roleplayed the crap out of our latest game, but all if it made absoblutely no diffierence. I had a D6 chance of death. I got the cranium hit. So literally ALL of the roleplaying made absolutely no difference. All of it meant nothing due to a single dice roll. This is utterly shit. And has massively jaded my gameplay experience.

With renewed interest in this game coming from Dune Part 2, the new videogames, and the Fall of the Imperium adventure, I'd love to see ya revisit this game for the other types of conflict!
