That sounds like a young Cougar cub and its mother. I had Cougars for years. Cubs have a chirping sound and the adults can have either a raspy or high pitched meow.

I've heard cow sound more like a sharp short bark. But this could be a younger elk barking with that higher pitch. I believe it is an elk.

Can we talk about the yowl at the end?! What was that it sounded like a wolf or somethin lol!

I'm wondering how well those poles hold up in wind? This is always something that people have to worry about. If you get winds like 4o+ or if you live in places with wind, are the poles going to bend or degrade?

We are hearing this sound in Southern Oklahoma in our backyard 20 acres

Because moose and elk are deer, male moose and elk are more correctly called stags, female moose and elk are more called does, and baby moose and elk are called fawns.

I have hunted Colorado since the seventies. Unless you can access private ground, trophy quality is going to be non existent for the most part. Lots of elk, managed for quantity. Like Michigan and whitetail deer. Kind of sad.

Was in Estes Park several years ago and the elk were in town. This guy walks right up to the herd bull like five feet away to take a picture. My first thought was wow this idiot is going to die right in front of me, then I saw his children and wife behind him about 25 yards. I went to help but the park police were on it immediately thank God.
