Introduction to Game Unit 10 Colorado

It can take about 25 years to draw this unit as a rifle hunter in Colorado. I attempt to give helpful information to the million dollar question - where can I find elk in Unit 10?

You have enough points for unit 10 and it’s my pick. Unit is also good. I highly recommend contacting a CPW biologist right away. Call them directly at the Meeker office. They are the very best resource willing to talk about elk.

The winter of 2022-2023 was extremely bad. Lots of winter kill. The biologists will have specifics on that.

I have 22 points for unit 10 and they are saying 25 is needed to draw. Check out the hunting statistics for free on CPW site. Both units are good with similar terrain. What matters most to me is the bull to cow ratio in the elk population report by CPW. Archery is challenging because most of the terrain is sage and elk can see movement easily. Hard to say which unit is best. They are both very similar in lots of ways. Talk to local outfitters if they are willing to help.
