I'd say Deadlock is a massive improvement over Dota2

Guides can actually write a lot, as in a lot. A name for the category, description for said category, just a box of text, description for every item (and i believe ability). Right now there is the problem of guides not being sorted in any way, but seeing how dota got it right i assume deadlock will fix it later.

Every second I played Deadlock I just wanted to switch to Gigantic. The game is way underappreciated.

In a documentary on Apex the developers specifically say that they reused assets out of necessity because it lightens the processing load. With such large seamless maps they needed to work within the computational limits and duplicating assets does this.

You hit on my favorite thing about pseudoregalia and games like Super Metroid which were designed with sequence breaking in mind. I love being able to see the "intended solution" but then finding my own way anyway even if I don't have the "intended" upgrade. It feels so good to feel like I "outsmarted" the game by finding my own way with my current toolset. *tangent about my own experience feel free to skip* In my playthrough I accidentally discovered slide ultra-hopping (with the base slide) while still in the Dilapidated Dungeon. and this technique (which the game never requires or tells you about) allows to you sequence break a ton of things and get the progression items in pretty much any order save for maybe the cling gem. With this I went to the Twilight Theater really early with just slide and wall kick and had a lot of fun making my way through the really challenging platforming in that area. And the best part is I never got soft locked at any point it was well designed enough to where you could naviagte through very large portions of it without ever getting the cling gem and I just find that so cool. (You do need the cling gem for the big key though) All in all I love how open ended and how open the design is to sequence breaking and finding your own path through. There's nothing more satisfying than seeing a really large gap or a really high up platform and wondering "can I make that with my current moveset" and then realizing you absolutely can. I really wish this dev would consider making a sequel or another game with a similar kind of moveset and design philosophy because I had so much fun with this game.
