Moving all those bags looked a days' work on it's own! Good progress on the block laying. But I would say that pointing up blocks that are going to be back filled or even not seen from the interior is a heck of a waste of time and labour. Ok if it's going to be a 'finished' surface but maybe a bit too picky if not? I'm not trying to be a negative-ninny mate, I really enjoy the work and attitude. Good luck ad be sae!

Looks great, I’m glad I was able to help a little bit even though it cost a little time & money the end product will be better. I was reading the other comments & glad you have chosen to put a bond beam with rebar at 4 & 8’ intervals it will definitely help tie it all together. As far as the end blocks yes you can use them anywhere but are also correct that it doesn’t tie the joint together as well I’d use them where to plan to fill the cell full of concrete, I myself would fill every core but many don’t. Just 1 more little tip not that it makes a difference in structural but block is wider on the webbing on 1 side this is so it is easier to pick up with 1 hand & also so when laying your mortar it doesn’t fall off or down the holes as easy when setting the blocks on your bed of mortar, it is intended to be the top of the block when laid. Just a couple tips from a guy who has laid some blocks. Looks great & keep after it. Thanks for sharing your build

Thank you again!! Very much appreciated! Awesome tips, your explanation on the end blocks makes perfect sense! I’ll plan to tie them in where the rebar is vertical. I planned to fill the cores every 4 feet, but if it isn’t too hard I may fill more\all. Thanks again!

I am also going to add horizontal rebar at 4 and 8 feet across the entire wall. We shall see how it all goes!

Laying block isn't that hard. If I did it anybody can lol. Long as you start straight with good plumb lines keep everything square a good supply of block readily handy and a good mix of mud. Technic isn't that important long as you butter your block with adequate mud using just enough but no waste. You will catch on quickly. You will do fine...
