Hello, I'm facing a very difficult problem with my iMac 27" 2011. After replacing the motherboard, CPU (upgraded to i7 2600), SSD, RAM, and reinstalling the system, the fans are running at full speed, and the CPU is stuck at a low frequency (1.7 GHz). I don't know how to fix this, and I would be very grateful if you could help)

The 5,1 is an outstanding example of Apple’s best. If not for the PCIe 2.0 bottleneck, it would be good for virtually all applications. It moves a lot of data very efficiently and as we are all seeing is super reliable. I updated mine with 6 core 3.46GHz Xeon processors and higher speed RAM to match. The improvement was phenomenal and one unexpected plus was lower power consumption hence quieter operation. Though I’ve moved on to 6,1 for better portability, I’ll keep my HackPro forever as a symbolic middle finger to Apple.

You might be interested to know I’ve found the WD Black HDD is the best spinner I’ve ever used. I go through dozens of HDDs in my biz so I’ve experimented a bit. I currently have 8 WD Black 1TB drives in rack mount bays between 8 and 15 years old. Not one of them has ever faltered. During a 2 year period producing music for a hit TV show, they were seeing typical use of 1TB per day, 7days a week. Still, performing and measuring as flawless as the day I bought them. During that same time span, quite a few high spec HDDs of every manufacturer have shown signs of performance loss and been tossed. Despite the fact they did all the heavy lifting, I have still never seen a WD Black fail.

You picked nearly all trash games to judge the system on, you should have picked from the known good games to give the console a fair chance. Mario Kart 64 isn't considered the better of the Kart racers for the system, Diddy Kong Racing is a better game.

incredible picture dude, it's pity you suck at gran turismo, I recommend you to switch gas/ brake inputs to right analogue thumbstick and please learn how to play w/ manual transmission, slowly but surely you'll get there with a lot more of enjoyment that you previously played🙂

The difficulty re-installation of the antenna part is because of the metal "teeth" on the mesh on the rounded part being bent out of shape. The lip of the housing have to go between the antenna and "teeth". Everyone, please don't smash your Mac Minis out of frustration.

But why this has better specs thab 250i, although this is older?

There was something for pretty much everybody, and that's not even including the XBLA launch titles. The only game in this launch lineup that I'd consider a bad game is Ridge Racer 6.

I have an old Amstrad CPC 464 and a 6128 Plus and the Plus is a fantastic machine but few games released for it at the time really makes proper use of the PLUS features. It's obviously nowhere near an Amiga but it's still a properly good computer. The record button would be used for either saving a BASIC listing to tape, saving a game save to tape, (think something like SimCity) or even saving a WIP game's source code/master to tape. People did actually develop Amstrad games on a real Amstrad sometimes.

Question : I got an "old" iMAC with that "?" mark folder flashing ................but the "command + R" combination did NOT take me to recovery. Actually, nothing happens. Not even a WIFI network prompt. Could it be that the drive is just DEAD ? If i throw a brand new SSD in there, will it boot up ?? Thanks
