Mirage 730: the fastest tandem sea kayak?
Slightly wider than the Epic V8 double but much longer at 730 cm (24 feet). It flies whatever the conditions! Easy to keep 8-10 km/h (5-6.2 mph) against the current and headwind, much faster downwind.

Choppy water - Epic surfski V7

Super windy day at St Heliers beach, Auckland. I played by the beach for about an hour and I was exhausted. So much wind catching the paddle's blades (Orka Super Flex Pro). The Epic V7 is such a great surf ski when the sea is rough! Very stable and fast.

    You walk on water on the Epic V10, but you haven't stopped walking on the Epic V7. Why ? After all, it is heavier and probably slower? I have a V7 and I'm thinking about cooler surf-ski in the future. Does this make sense - for downwind, boat surfing, fitness? Not for sports.

    • @kayakintro
      @kayakintro 3 месяца назад

      I don’t understand what you mean by walking? The V10L ultra is 11.6kg and the V7 is 24kg. It is also much faster than the V7 because it is longer (615 cm Vs 520 cm) and narrower (44 cm Vs 54 cm). There is no perfect surfski so you can one for downwind, one for flat water racing etc.

      Thanks! 175cm for 84kg. It is fine for me but it is better if you are 75kg and under as recommended by Fenn, it would be more stable (not that I find it unstable). It is surprisingly quick in downwind with steep waves. I can easily catch and overtake my friend Nick paddling his Bluefin which is 170cm longer!! Not the best on flat water, it needs waves to be fun. In the same category of short surfskis there is the Epic V5 which is more stable (60 cm wide Vs 50 for the Bonito). The V5 has a capacity of 125kg so is better if you are over 75kg.
