    Someone left one of these by the dumpster where I live. Rescued the radio out of it and am now doing a refurb. It did work but needs a filter cap among other things. There were different chassis variations based on the suffix number. Yours is a -1 Mine is a -2 So far I've noticed a difference in some of the negative feedback circuits in the audio section between the two. Don't know why they had the variations. Gonna see how the audio input on mine works as a guitar amp when I get it done.

    I love the video great job! I'm working on the exact same model right now for a customer. I'm adding bluetooth as well. The bluetooth module I'm using has Aux input which is connected to AM side. And don't need to use the switch in the back. The module automatically switches to Bluetooth when you press play on your cell phone.

      Learn from this failure! You failed to give any of the necessary information. AC, heater, water heater, all electric?, propane ?, 12 volt system, holding tanks, etc. I STRONGLY suggest that you watch other videos like this to see how they should be presented. Watch this for yourself with the thought in mind of what if you were a stranger that wants to lean how you built your trailer and what things you did that they might want to copy. AGAIN, it was very frustrating with you standing only a few feet away from what you were showing. I hope that your future videos will be better.

    Idk what some people are thinking sometimes when their pets are being a neusance and it's as if they're wearing ear plugs or think no one else can hear it? I mean I'd be embarrassed if my dog did that. It's like when you accidently set off your car alarm, and even though no one knows it's your car, it's fucking the most embarrassing 7 seconds pulling out your key and trying to shut it off before they're half way out of your pocket. Must have some serious issues going on in the household to be able to ignore it as if it's not happening, you must not be on speaking terms with the spouse to where you let it go on just to piss them off. Idk how else this sort of thing can be explained rationally. I mean if my wife hated when the dog did that and i was always the one to go outside and get it to shut up, you bet your ass I'd pretend to be asleep if it ever happened right after she pissed me off. No fucking dessert tonight? You let the grandkids have the rest of the ice cream bars? Good fucking luck sleeping tonight you whore. Scratch that, you put the grandchildren before ME? LET THAT DOG HOWL ALL MONTH LONG. : )

    Get a mounting plate that screws to the wall with bolts that screw into the tv. Put medium thread lock on anything that can come lose from vibration and you'll never have to worry about the TV flying off. Shelves that have anything that can slide out just need a lip and you won't need to ratchet anything. If it works on work vans, it will definitely work on a camper.

    Interesting. Some random comments from someone about the age of that radio: I was amused that you referred to it as a "stereo". Almost everyone would these days, that term is ingrained in our consciousness. But it isn't stereo, it's mono. Stereo sets wouldn't start to come along until the early 1960s. The little white tube with wires wrapped around the ends is a very low value capacitor, on the order of several picofarads, or, as they would have said in those days, "micro-microfarads", abbreviated mmf, rather than the pf we use these days. Absolutely no reason to think that it would be bad. The burning you saw on the cap near the orange replaced cap doesn't necessarily mean that cap was bad. What happened was that the original of the replaced cap got hot and burned up. What you are seeing is collateral damage on the other cap, but that discoloration would probably not have been enough to cause problems with it. (All the paper and electrolytic caps were likely bad now and needed replacing. But when the fried cap was replaced with that orange cap originally, the other paper caps were likely still usable.) The back-to-back bumblebee caps were obviously a replacement at some point in time. Probably another paper cap that went bad. Probably not done at the same time as the orange cap replacement. The way the wires were twisted together shows a real amateur did the repair, as does the mismatched foil ends of the caps.

    It's working, the volume drop is normal cause it acts as resistance/clipping. If you put it before the transformer, with the right resistance set up, it should work similar to a tube, but with a tiny opto compression aspect.

      @stratokev2 10 месяцев назад

      The unit has been great! Coming up on 3 year anniv of installing it. No problems. The heat does have difficulty when the outside temps are below 40F. We just use an electric radiator style heater when it is really cold out. Like the mini split so much we have also installed the same unit in a sunroom.

    • @shawncolwell2029
      @shawncolwell2029 10 месяцев назад

      @@stratokev2 When below 40* do you mean staying warm or getting warm? If you use the additional heater to get temperature up will the mini split maintain?

    • @stratokev2
      @stratokev2 10 месяцев назад

      When the outside temperature is below about 40F the unit seems to run longer and louder than usual. It gets warm and maintains the temp but working harder than normal. When it is that cold outside we turn the unit off and use the radiator heater.

    Electro Harmonix markets a 7868. They work well. Beware though, the pins are larger since it’s a MAGNOVAL base. Once you use one you’ll can never go back to USA tubes. But, it’s not too hard to replace a socket (usually) so your decision is ok. It’s not a collectable amp. It doesn’t look like you used shorting jacks and a 33k Ω resistor on the jack. Add those and you’ll tame some noise.
