Good video! You have a new subscriber. I have waffled back and forth between the two sizes. I had the 12.9 and return originally because I had issues using in tablet mode. I did get an 11” and really liked it but missed the real estate when docked and for multi tasking. Is the 13 inch so much lighter that you can use for longer in tablet mode? I actually use and IPad mini for reading and you tube. If I want to watch a movie I use Apply play to a tv. Thanks….

Hi man, I’ve tested the 2018 and 2024 (no nano-texture) 11” models and there’s no such a big difference as in your video.

I have the 11 Inch iPad Pro and mine has a big cameras in the back so it’s like a 2122 iPad because it has the cameras just like the new iPad

I’m an artist, and I also agree that the 11” iPad Pro has always been the sweet spot for me size wise.

Oh my, one thing can’t do it all. I’m thinking M4 13” for watching movies/videos, web browsing, and taking notes. You mentioned not much difference between glass and nano for watching movies so I’m leaning towards the nano though other creators think differently making the choice more difficult. Sounds like if you get regular glass and add paper white screen protector, the movies won’t look good but note taking feel is better. Don’t plan on using it much outside or in the car. The main dilemma is not knowing how the nano screen will hold up. If there is no difference in movie quality and better note taking experience than glass, sounds like you think the nano is best choice, am I right? Thanks for making your videos.

the most welcome difference for me is the change in aspect ratio, where the new one is 3:2 vs 4:3 in old one, leading to better display of standard video 16:9, less black bars...

On viewing tv content which is better view 11 or 13 as far as what is seen vs watching a movie in wide screen? Hope that makes sense.

Which size iPad, outside of the black bars on a movie with the example you mentioned, would look best in a full screen youtube video or music video, let’s say in 4K? Thanks in advance, and love the content.

0:56 So this is better than the tradeoff you proposed of putting more battery on it. You have the same battery and better portability! Granted i would not say no to a longer battery life but not at the expense of better portability! I think design wise it is the most valuable design upgrade, especially for the 13inch one!

I bought the brand new logitech combo touch when I got the iPad 11 Pro OLED. It’s very light lighter than the magic keyboard smooth plastic finish,trackpad is bigger and one thing that I really like is they added a screen grab function key in the center. It also has the brightness function keys which the magic keyboard does not. The price should be reduced drastically in a week or two now that apples lock on selling the logictech keyboards until May 27, 2024,has expired. I just bought a brand new logictech keyboard combo touch for $129 for my brand new iPad Pro 12.9 inch with 256 GB that was on sale for $890 at BJ’s last one left.👈👀

I traded my 12.9 iPad Pro for the 2024 11-inch iPad Pro because of the size and weight. The 12.9-inch with a Magic Keyboard was too heavy to travel with. The smaller size fits in my backpack leaving room for additional items.

Waiting for WWDC to see the new OS before pulling the trigger. Your videos have been very useful, thanks for them ! I will probably go for the 11 inch. I am a heavy user of Final Cut but sad to see it’s only subscription based even though I purchased Final Cut Pro on Mac.

I just upgraded to the same 13 inch model for, the 2020 model. I’m enjoying it but I won’t upgrade again for at least 5-6 years lol

13 inch is essential if you want to draw. Yes 11 inch you can draw on. Just as you can draw on a napkin. But you won’t. That’s my only advice I’d give to a very specific customer.

Great review. Very insightful perspective on how different professionals could use and appreciate the power of the M4 chip. The blame for why Apple made the iPad Pro thinner falls on tech reviewers. Most reviewers claimed it was useless for traveling since it was heavier than a MacBook Air at its full weight. Portability is a key feature for any tablet.

Thanks. I’m happy apple made it thinner, lighter, and faster. Every ipad should have those features. You see the power of that m4 chip in that shadow on the screen, and it is doing that easily. When I am forced to give up my M1 in december, i will happily replace it with the m4 device. Thanks for your help with these videos.

Upgraded from the pro 11 3rd gen and I’m very happy with my decision. The iPad really needed a display upgrade and we have it now.

Great video. Do you find that the 13” is portable now then previous models because of the less weight? I’ve always used a 11”, but the thinness and again the weight makes me think I can use the larger one to watch my videos and movies which I do since I travel a lot. I realized the aspect ratio favored the 11” for movies, but I also watch a LOT of RUclips videos, and I feel like the 4:3 favors that. Also, when I’m watching on a plane, restaurant, and especially in my hotel, I won’t uses the magic Keyboard, but rather remove it and have a case that can fold into multiple positions. Since it’s just taller then the 11” and a just a bit wider, I don’t think I’ll have trouble on airplanes when I’d just be using a folio type case. Thoughts? The irony is that I’ve always had 11” iPads, but I refused to upgrade it from 2020 because the started giving the 13” the better display 😡. So, I figured it’d be a no brainer, until I saw and felt how much larger the 13” is now. I’m so on the fence it’s killing me 😖. Thanks again for such a thorough video.

Perfect size would be between iPad mini and 11 in pro. Mini is too small and 11incher quite a big. I have 2022 model.

I had an IPad Pro 11 inch gen 2 and while I was tempted when the I got mine on release date,I stuck with the 11 inch size 512 gb with Magic Keyboard and the Pencil Pro,the 11 inch is the sweet spot for me,now I can’t wait until a screen saver is released, I agree with you about the screen being the same as the 13 inch (with size being the exception and that also was a deciding factor,wonder how many would choose the 13 inch over the 11 inch if Apple only charged fifty dollars more for the bigger iPad Pro

I’d be very interested in seeing a comparison of the two M4 iPad Pros when connected to one or more external monitors. Of particular interest to me would be a test done using monitors at various aspect ratios and resolutions; i.e., 1080p vs 1440p vs 4k. And how about those ultra wide monitors! How do the two M4 models compare? Of course, I doubt you have a bunch of monitors at all these resolutions and aspect ratios. Anyway, that is what I want to know more about. Thanks for the detailed and thorough RUclips comparison - you did a nice job.

I got the 13” first with ESR case from Amazon. It felt heavy on my hand after few minutes of using it. So, I decided for 11” and I just loved it. It’s also easier to hold with both hands while typing.
