Basically, it would stop connecting to the external monitor when it was fully charged and acting as the host. Just using it through the power and data port works great, but if you’re doing an iPad only setup, that may have some problems
3:00 Does that KYY portable support pass-through? Other monitors had the two ports but one would be fir external power if the other usbc or HDMI signal source does not supply enough power for video.
It doesn’t support a SSD or external drive and you’re right it’s mostly used for if the video source doesn’t provide enough power. But if connected directly to something like the iPad or MacBook, you could plug it into power and it’ll pass through charge the iPad or MacBook. Hope that helps! Sorry the way I said it in the video was probably pretty confusing
ETHERNET. When your iPad (M?) is the host/computer did you see in its Settings that this Ivanky dock/hub shows up as Ethernet (en4)? I have Caldigit TS4 and that's what automatically identified as. I don't have ethernet but wondering about use in-house on either of the, the Ivanky or the Caldgit (bought from Apple it's known as "Thunderbolt 4 Pro Dock, firmware differentes i think).
Not sure if I’m completely understanding the question but I’ll do my best. When connecting the iPad to the dock as the main computer, it would use whatever monitor was in the 1st HDMI port and it would connect to the Ethernet port, all the SSD’s and drives I had connected and the headphones I had connected. So yeah Ethernet showed up in settings. The headphones just showed up as something like “iVanky external devices” and everything else showed their actual names. Hope that helps, otherwise I apologize if I misunderstood!

Thanks for your detailed sharing! awesome Dock you would never miss! 🤩🤩
7:40 Please compare power situation of iPad as host versus being on a power/data port. on which did the iPad go off after full charge?
