CBR1100XX Blackbird #13 - Ride the Route1050
Riding with the Honda #cbr1100xx the route 1050, that was part of the Swedish "King's Road" from Oslo Norway to Vyborg in todays Russia. It was a main artery in Finland from the 1200's, maybe earlier. This section I rode the first time on this video, in the end of October, at the sunset. It's a really great road that I went back to and will go back to many times. It traverses the Fagervik manor. This video was recorded in October 2022, so nice to reflect before the next season.
Kuninkaantie Inkoossa, tie 1050, Fagervikin kartanon läpi. Upea tie hienossa kunnossa, joka on ilo ajaa.

CBR1100XX Blackbird #12 - Ride the Porkkala cape
Просмотров 613Год назад
Riding with the Honda CBR1100XX the Porkkala cape road, that traverses the area that was overtaken by the Russians after the WW2 as their miliary base. It was returned to Finland a decade later. The road is excellent, with a good pavement and plenty of twists and turns. Sorry I blurred the instrument cluster a bit to get your attention on the road. It's only 19 km, so enjoy it with me. It's a r...
CBR1100XX Blackbird #11 - Ride in Helsinki countryside 4K
Просмотров 1,5 тыс.Год назад
Join me on this ride making a loop in the countryside not far from Helsinki, about 70 kilometers. I like this route as it takes off not far from where I live, and it has variable features. The ride starts and ends at Lake Bodom, which is beautiful and a popular place. Then it goes into the Espoo forests, and then gradually through large fields. The route goes to Klaukkala, and from there I turn...
CBR1100XX Blackbird #10 - Ride the ancient Ox Road
Просмотров 1,2 тыс.Год назад
Let's go explore this bull (or ox) road, over a 1000 years old, winding from Turku castle to Hämeenlinna castle in Finland. This video is about the road, its history, and enjoyment of riding it. The Blackbird with all the mods is a thrill to ride through the winding path. It's a long video so hopefully you have patience to follow all the way. The first 30 minutes it goes through flat fields but...
CBR1100XX Blackbird #9 - Mods review ride
Просмотров 1,5 тыс.Год назад
A beautiful day for a countryside ride on the Honda CBR1100XX Blackbird. I'm going over the many mods and how they feel. This is a 75 km ride in the Helsinki, Finland region, a bit of highway to get there and then small roads through the fields and forests to another highway that leads back. I've done this ride multiple times now, a great run to do. Not much traffic but twice almost hit a deer ...

After a comprehensive build on the Honda CBR1100XX Blackbird, finally it's time for the first impressions ride. This is not about the scenery or the route, this is the first reaction, fresh and genuine. The Blackbird is such a great bike already, these modifications were intended to make it even better. Will I notice? Sorry about the camera angle and audio, it will get better in next videos. Th...
Glorious CBR1100XX Blackbird #7 - Project finish!

This build project from concept to finishing a totally unique fabulous bike is finally done. The bike got many upgrades to driveability and to the style, and many maintenance works were done. Thanks for following the series. In this episode are many interesting component presentations, like the APE manual cam chain tensioner, Honda VFR 800 handlebar conversion with MotoCNC risers (www.moto-cnc....
Glorious CBR1100XX Blackbird #6 - Seat & Tank wrap
Просмотров 6 тыс.Год назад
The motorcycle seat is certainly extremely key to the riding comfort, and is visually one of the most important components that "make the bike". So don't settle for the standard seat if it's not to your liking. This seat has gel pads for extra comfort. The tank wrapping is a quick, not very expensive way to greatly change the way your bike looks. And it protects the tank. In this video I'm desi...
Glorious CBR1100XX Blackbird #5 - Carbon wheels
Просмотров 9 тыс.Год назад
Carbon fiber Rotobox wheels, Arashi brake rotors and HEL Performance braided brakelines. Guess the weight saving! * The Rotobox wheels really look fabulous. They are a significant investment for sure to the Blackbird, but the carbon wheels are so significantly lighter that they make a huge difference in the way the bike feels and handles. Rotobox said that only 5 CBR1100XX bikes in the world ha...
Glorious CBR1100XX Blackbird #4 - Suspension, front and rear

Presenting a step-by-step guide how to rebuild the damper-rod fork. Also, Nitron R2 installation. A substantial improvement to the handing of the CBR1100XX Blackbird can be had by upgrading its suspension. There is some investment involved, but if one plans on keeping the bike, I'd say it's worth it. The standard front suspension has progressive springs that are initially soft and the compressi...
Glorious CBR1100XX Blackbird #3 - Painting
Просмотров 3,7 тыс.Год назад
The project on the CBR1100XX Blackbird is well on its way. This is perhaps the most challenging part, and not to be recommended to be done yourself, painting of the fairings. A spraybooth was constructed with ventilation, and a spraygun with compressor used to lay the paint. With so many various details and layers, the whole process took over a month. Separately, basically all the aluminium par...
Glorious CBR1100XX Blackbird #2 - The project starts
Просмотров 7 тыс.Год назад
In this video the project to modify the cbr1100xx blackbird starts. We will also do maintenance things. It is for sure a bit intimidating to start going into the bike, taking parts off in great numbers. I had minigrip bags onto which I wrote where the screws came from. In the end I had two boxes full of those bags. Taking screws off is not so exciting or difficult, so we don't focus on that. Th...
Glorious CBR1100XX Blackbird #1 - Presentation of the beautiful original bike.

I want to present to you and take you with me on this project build and exploration of this Honda CBR1100xx. The bike is a 2002 year model, and had 49 790 km when I bought her. Although a really great motorcycle, I am going to customize it to make it fit me better, to make it ride better, and to make it look even better than it does originally (subjective opinion). This is going to be a series ...

Hello my friend and thank you for your very nice video. I would like to ask you something if you know. In Europe we have kilometers not miles, I found a 2005 model and it is in miles, is there a way to somehow change the measurement to kilometers in a mechanic?

Haha. Good to see. My example is a Candy Phoenix Blue x5 is sitting in my garage and hasn't been touched (or started) in 11 years (mostly down to a failed useless Datatool s3 alarm). It grieves me because it's probably the best all round motorcycle I ever had and I started riding in 1966. It's only got just over 13k (UK) miles on it and it would be nice to ride it again but I guess the cost of resurrecting it would be more than it's worth. Sad really.
