I fitted Dymag wheels, Braking Wave discs and Hel brake lines to mine, what a difference to turn in and braking. Great vid.

Bought Dymag up7x wheels for my xx. Prefere aluminum to carbon. The lighter wheels are a great upgrade.

Wow those wheels are absolutely beautiful. They are outside of my price bracket. If i had the money they would certainly be on my shopping list.

really nice work, them wheels are something else though, just need a kidney to sell to get some lol, 1 thing though I put arashi discs on my other 2 fireblades, a 1997 and 2002, they were ok, but I just couldnt get on with them, they didnt seem to bite as good as oem, I tried ferodo, ebc and gold fren pads in them and they still just lacked the initial bite, so i took them off after 3000 miles on each of them, and back to oem, it was the same for wet weather performance, the arashi discs to me didnt feel as good as oem.
I got my bird in march 2021, and spent a few peenies on her, like you i went with the hel brake line kit from jaws, but this time i got ebc vrotor discs up front and ebc hh pads, and a tourmax rear disc, they are a great combination, better than oem, great initial bite, each to there own though, you've got a really cool bird, thanks for sharing.
Oh and i used some spare black fuel line pieces about an inch long, 4 of them, slit them down the side and put them on over the rear brake lines, then pushed them in to the metal brake line holders on the swing arm, just keeps them inplace.

Thanks for the comments. Great to hear about your experiences with the brakes, as I really don't have experience to compare. That brakeline cover vs the rear holders sounds a good idea. I haven't noticed the lines moving as they are now, but I'll likely do a similiar thing.

You read my mind!!😁 My background is in the aero engine business. All lines are assumed to chafe, so the type of solution you proposed is mandatory. And if you study bike brake lines, they ALWAYS do the same. Car handbrake cables come with hefty plastic shielding too.
You can apply a strip of double sided tape to keep the fuel line in place, and superglue it back together.

Love what you done with the brakes, I've delinked the front brake from working from the back brake but kept the back brake working when using the front brake, all I use when riding is the front brake, which brings on the back,

That’s a huge weight saving with those gorgeous carbon wheels. Braking will be safer, and acceleration will be quicker due to the reduced inertia. These are great modifications.
And you had much better music in this one. I really enjoyed this video. Thank you for sharing.
    Peace

BTw, did you do all this work in 11 days ?. It's only been that long since you posted your first video.

The editing of these videos is the time between them. First parts I ordered in late February. The dismantling of the bike started in mid-April and first ride was 3 months later in mid-July. The longest took the painting, and at same time I was waiting for the parts from powdercoating.
