A good install day. Purchased the following from CJC Off-road. - 2.5”/3.5” Carli Back Country lift kit. - Upper steering stabilizer - Torsion sway bar Keeping the back stock (for now) because I tow construction equipment frequently. May upgrade to full progressive Deaver springs with air bags… but the truck rides great with the Falken wild peaks. Max PSI is 60 on them so they are at their E rat...

Today we installed the Ford Performance (Warn) winch on my 2021 F250 Tremor. The instructions we great and were 26 pages long. The rest of the pages are in French. Took a little over 4 hours (while filming) with 2 people and was a moderate install. If you have the right tools and some basic well rounded automotive knowledge this install should go fairly simple. 2017 Shelby GT 350 review with cold start
I don't have to much room in the well ,because I am running a 6inch pro comp lift and my tires are 17x37 toyo open country mt on wheels 17x9 .the truck is a f250 2018 lariat tubo diesel fx4 crew cab all factory led lights and it looks great 👍
Hey great video thanks for posting, that part of the country looks like an awesome place to live, makes me wanna move to Tennessee. I just bought a 2024 F250 Lariat 6.7 Sept,16th 2024 it goes in for the Carli 3.5 Backcountry but I also opted to get the lower steering stabilizer and the adjustable trailing arms as well. I thought long and hard about getting the 37's like yours but I decided to go with 35" x 12.5" Falkin AT4W LT tires on 20" Method rims. I got the 35's to keep the spedo more accurate and to preserve the take off acceleration. Hope I don't regret not getting the 37's
@@bigtrukk thanks for watching. sounds like a badass set up you have in the works. You will love the fuel economy with the 35”. I want to say 2-4 miles per less on 37”. About time for new tires. Looking hard at the AT4W. Cheers
How did it ride
@@allenoakes9126 rides great. So much better than the stock tremor. Worth the extra money for Carli IMO.
@@tcr2237 thank you for the advice mine is in the mail
@@allenoakes9126 that’s awesome. You won’t regret it at all. Cheers
Where did you buy the adapter?
@@wildsox Garmin makes a better one (not in video). Got it on Amazon. Dont remember the name but should be easy to find
Where can I find the extended trim panel to fill that driver side gap?
@@WoodrowWoods2007 I saw it on fords website and a dealer can order it for you.
I’ve been thinking about putting the Carli level on my 21 Tremor. After seeing that track bar I’m not sure it’s worth the $500 for the adjustable?.
@@therealmccoy9031 I think it was (track bar in general). It makes the geometry perfect for the truck. Tires sit even on both ends. If you use the tremor track bar, your tires might be offset (stick out more on the drivers side). Your call. Cheers
@@tcr2237 For sure, CJC off road said they definitely recommend it. Great video! Thanks for the reply🤝
Did you replace the rear leaf spring with Carli's progressive?
Also are you running stock rims?
@@rugerkampf no leafs yet.. been towing a lot and just decided to keep it stock. If I did the rear leafs, I would also have to upgrade to airbags for towing. Wheels are methods. I have a tire and wheel vid if you want to know more about specs Cheers
@tcr2237 ill check it out. Thanks
What is the part number for winch and mounting hardware please

@@tcr2237 thank you, I did as well I just wanted to make sure I get the exact one that looks exactly like the factory because I’ve seen other models and it confused me I have a 2022 king ranch tremor. Did you need to upgrade your alternator ?
@@hay829 no prob man! I didn’t. I have a diesel and it comes with the largest alt. And two batts. They say you need two batts is you have a gasser. I have used it to pull construction equipment out of the mud, my truck stuck in a snow bank and a tractor (semi) out of the mud. Semi has no trailer obviously!!!
FYI, the 2023 & 2024’s don’t rub at all with 37’s.
Good job 👍
Hey, great honest review, we really appreciate that, thank you. I just want to point out at 6min, I noticed your brake flex hose appears to be resting against the chassis. It’s possible you have it clocked wrong at the bracket, or the end wasn’t clocked and crimped at the manufacturer correctly. This do happen sometimes with aftermarket parts. If you haven’t already corrected this, I highly recommend you do so. Plus if DOT checks your vehicle, they don’t like to see any brake hoses improperly secured or chaffing on anything. Good luck!
nice. i have a 2010 ram 3500 and plan on getting pretty much the same setup as yours plus balljoints and trackbar
Do you think a 13.5 wide 37 would fit fine? Same rim size and offset, on a stock 7.3 tremor.
Don’t think so. Would be darn tight and probably rub on the fender corner closest to the door.
Truck looks great after the lift!
Thanks
Why does the Carter shim need to be replaced? I'm about to have my truck filled
The caster shims roll the front axle forward back to OE specs, if not a little more. Keeps the truck tracking right and puts the geometry of the front end back in spec. It’s a must IMO
I really appreciate this information and your response I'll make sure this is the first thing I order thanks
@@81recinos no prob. Cheers
A couple years since you did this vid but my 2 cents worth. My cruise control and pre collision alert don’t work because the bracket that holds them bent without a side pull. Dealer can’t fix and none of this is warranty even though it was ordered. I hate not having cruise control , a year now. I suggest not installing this winch, if you like cruise control.
Man, that’s a bummer. My truck doesn’t have the radar module/adaptive cruse, so no issue on mine but good info for the trucks that do. Hope you can find a dealer that can repair. They need to stand by their damn products.
Hey, thank you. Totally get it. I have a 2024 now and the stock 35 on my tremor look great from the side but the wheel design is not great and the tires are 11. They just look to thin. Imo. Buying 35/12.5R20 and see how that goes. Great video and ty for sharing. Very informative.
Need to be wider. IMO
Gotcha but Not my style. That would lead to some tire rubbing when it is flexed out. Which would result in less performance when I’m in the woods and on the trails. Also, didn’t want mud all over my truck and mirrors after I hit the trails. Couldn’t be happier with this setup.
10% of the entire trailers weight.
1,000 lbs is not enough. Nor are those 6k lbs chains. Who taught you “how to tow”?
Cheers, I think you did! Thanks for the friendly comment.
Fair ‘nuff.
What tire and wheel are you running? How is road noise? Did you consider radius arms also? Truck looks good. I have a 2017 and have been researching videos to get some ideas. Not sure whether I want to stick with the stock 20" wheels and put 37s on them or go to an 18" wheel. I pull a travel trailer and possibly will go to a fifth wheel, so Im concerned about the tow rating. What raiting are your tires? Have you had any issues with towing above 15k? Thanks.
Thanks for watching. I have a video on wheel and tire setup as well as towing 15k with the rig if ya want to check it out. Quick short answers: 37x12x18 Falken Wildpeaks ATs on methods with +18 offset. Tires are not loud nor vibrate but you hear them a little bit. They are E rated and good for around 4,000 lbs each tire. Tow 15k long and short distances. Just towed my construction equipment 500 miles in one day. No issues with the tires. Airbags/rear leafs will be my next upgrade over front radial arms. Dont think they do much besides the looks. My opinion. Hope this helps, Cheers
How did you fix all the rust underneath?
Haha, ya, we can all thank Ford for how well they undercoat their SD trucks. Good thing I don’t live in an area that salts the hell out of their roads
@@tcr2237 I do but mine stays garaged in the winter. No rust knock on wood
No offense but you dont sound that happy with a 11k set up.
lol! Non taken. I love it. Installed it all myself so I didn’t hit $11k… it was $10k (including the winch) Haha. What really made me mad was that I paid extra for a tremor and it drove horrible, shocks were dead at 8k miles and the tires didn’t handle well at all. Ford was in a position to tell me to kick rocks and they did (covid days) Love my truck as it is now. Great work/tow/fun vehicle.
@tcr2237 ok im so on the fence,i hate wasting money,i was quoted ten thousand five hundred for the whole kit including airbags etc.is it worth it?
@@casper24ism it was worth it for me. I also included tires and wheels in my price above. Though, I have another F250 FX4 I use more for work and I wouldn’t say it would not be with it for that truck. It’s for work. Back to my black truck... I tow construction equipment on and off road and use it for my hobbies, so I would say it is worth it on my personal truck. All depends what you you use your truck for.
What are your tires? They look like 35s or 37s. I have a 2022 Tremor
Falken Wildpeaks 37x12.5x18
Stock rims looked better
How do those 37s ride vs the 35 Duratracs? Any noticeable difference? What psi are you running as well?
27K miles on the 37s. Hands down better ride, steering, not as loud and smoother. Only thing the 35” Goodyears had going for them was the better fuel mileage. Ran the Falkens from the high 40’s to mid 50’s PSI. Running them at 52-54 PSi now and tow 15k a good amount.
What mileage difference we talking? I'm pushing 10 MPG in City with the 7.3. Honestly thinking of just going with nicer 35's when these Duraturds wear out.@@tcr2237
Still got the tires?
Nope. Sold them Dec. 2021.
Keep it
Do they have that will fit on a 17 F350? Haven't found one yet...
Not that I know of. I believe the reason it does not “fit” is because the frame was not prepped for the mounting holes. They did that (holes) on the mid model refresh frame. That’s my guess. Other then the frame missing the mounting bracket holes, I bet it would fit like a glove..
What size tires are they?
37x12.5x18 Cheers
Looking good!
If we need install carli suspension upgrade, do we need buy TREMOR package when we purchase new F250 ?
Nope, this works on regular F250/F350. Will give you the same lift as my truck. Tremor just gives you a little better front end, some extra drive modes and can go through deep water. Cheers
@@tcr2237 Where are you? Do you provide the service?
@@jamesyu8183 sorry, I do not. I would call Carli and ask where the closest installers are
Does the ob2 adapter do the same as if i hardwired it in.
Ya, it stays on all the time. The problem is the Garmin shuts down when it gets too hot so to it has to rest constantly. Not the biggest fan of this camera. since it is a dash cam, which (in theory) lives on the front windshield and will be exposed to hot and cold environments. Great in the winter, summer is a different story. Been through 2 units so far. The second one works better then the first one. Thats my 2 cents. Cheers
Whats the plastic aftermarket cover?
My truck doesn’t have the lane keep assist sensor so the plastic cover would cover up more of the Warn metal bracket on the right side of the winch (where the sensor would re-attach after installing). Just dresses it up a bit more. I wasn’t and still not too worried about it.
@@tcr2237 Thanks, i dont have the l sensor either and used the factory plastic without issue as well.
Could you provide that link for the manual? Thank you. Great video.
No problem. performanceparts.ford.com/download/instructionsheets/2020_CMY_SUPER_DUTY_TREMOR_WARN_WINCH.PDF Hope this helps, cheers
I am thinking of getting this for my 2021 KIA Forte GT. It looks really good and would def boost the car. Still thinking of getting it though and its affordable really.
No clue about the Kia. Assume they program Two different ways. I don’t use this power mod anymore. Threw to many codes on my truck when I was towing. Cheers
@@tcr2237 fair I’m just doing my due diligence before I go this route with my car. It’s been modded as is and it works fine so I’m contemplating this at the moment
@@andrewperbegloo6219 awesome, good luck finding a good programmer. I used an AFE tuner on one of old my gas trucks and it worked without issues. Just a no go on my diesel.
Rah, thanks for the info. Hope you're still loving the truck.
I have a 17 with the plow prep package (stiffer springs I believe) and am adding a 1.5” level, I have a 0 offset 18” wheel and am really unable to find anything definite on if I can fit a 37” tire or not. Also have an aftermarket front bumper so I don’t have to worry about some of the low hanging front bs
It will be close on a 1.5” kit. I would opt. For a 2.5” kit. Give the boys over at CJC or Carli a call . They can give you the answers you are looking for, especially since you push a plow and want to run 37” tires. I think this kit would do the trick with your “0” offset wheels. www.cjcoffroad.com/collections/carli-2017-ford-suspension-systems/products/carli-2017-ford-super-duty-back-country-2-0-2-5-suspension-system?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIkJOl8MHv_QIVQxCtBh15MA5PEAQYASABEgLcDPD_BwE Cheers
Everybody first assumes the Tremor is only the lift and tires. If that were the case I wouldn't buy a Tremor. Valance, breathers, locker rear, Torsen front diff, offroad modes, 3.55 gears vs 3.31 (diesel).... What else? Can't wait to get mine
What springs are those?
Stock rear leafs (2021 250 Tremor) and the Carli 2.5” front coil springs for a 6.7 diesel Cheers
@@tcr2237 The ones sold as 3.5 i ch correct?
@@PromoCamllc correct. They used to be 2.5” for 2020s and lower, now they are 3.5” for 21” and newer. 2021’s and newer stock suspension sits an 1” lower then the 17-20.
@@tcr2237 So question of the day Would you buy again? What would you do differently? What do you absolutely say to do no matter what?
@@PromoCamllc good question. If you have a Tremor, I fully believe that the suspension is complete garbage. Replace it with any Carli kit for sure. Regarding the kit I bought, I would do the same kit. Absolutely do the 2.5/3.5 kit. Carli/fox/king shocks based on what you do with the truck or how you want it to look. Torsion Sway bar optional if you don’t off-road that much. Steering stabilizer for sure. Fork out extra money for the Rear Deaver leafs and airbags for the smoothest ride and to tow level (I may do this soon). Don’t go wide offsets on wheels if you plan on running 37” tires. My wheels are a +18 offset (sits inside 18mm from center.
5 thumps up!
Another great video. I've been shutting away from this For winch. There was either a video or an article from someone that needed to repair or replace something on the winch and Warn couldn't help because it was a ford thing and ford couldn't help because it was a warn thing. I wonder if a warn zeon platinum 12k would fit in there on that bracket.
Interesting… I have had some bad experience with dealer service departments as well. I’m sure that is where the issue was. Ford dealers seem to deny before they approve anything these days. not sure if it would fit. The brackets it comes with and how it mounts is very custom and tight fitting.
HELL YEAH!!! SEMPER FI
I haven't purchased my truck yet but I'm thinking of getting a different Tremor decal. If that doesn't go well I'll take mine off. I'm not a decal guy for the most part.
Ya, I went with the stripped off look a 6 months back. Looks so much better IMO. Was thinking of a flat black decal but not a fan of the Tremor name since I ripped almost all the “tremor” components off! Lol Good luck with you purchase. Keep me posted on what you get! What color you going for?
@TCR 223 As of right now I'm looking at the 350 Platinum Tremor in Antimatter blue.
Nice. Tremor got me to your channel. Marine Corps got me to subscribe. Carli suspension has me looking for more......
Semper Fi brother! Thanks for stopping by and checking out the vids. Hope they help you with your decision. Cheers
yes
New tires are always squirrely. Takes a few thou miles to settle down.
Had over 10k miles on the duratracs and they never got better. Installed a Carli Backcountry kit with caster shims and new 37” falkens and drives much better. Tremor shocks were blown at 10k miles. I could push them in and out effortlessly. It’s coming out that a good amount of Tremors have tracking issues. My buddy has a tremor as well and it drove great from day one. Was not the case for mine unfortunately
Did you do anything for speedo calibration?
No I did not. I did a gps speed comparison when I put the 37” tires on and from what I remember, it didn’t change but a few miles an hour at 60 mph. Got me thinking… I think I’ll do the test again and see where I’m at… cheers
@@tcr2237 10-4, thanks for responding. I just got a new 6.7 and a carli on 37s with methods is definitely the way I want to go.
@@TheCummins1212 your welcome. that’s great. I love my setup. I’m sure you will to. Here if you have any questions. Cheers
Looks great
Are you still running the carli sway bar, thought you said you might go back to factory for towing
Still running it. Works great for what I’m towing (15,000 lbs). It has been on for 10k miles and I don’t think I’m gonna go back to stock any time soon
How are you liking the Falkens after a year? Would you buy them again?
I like them. I would buy them again. Pros- Great wet road traction and not very loud on the Hwy. comparable to BFG ATs. Decent off road. cons - but not super great in the mud. Also, not American made. I ran muds on all my other trucks and was over the road noise. Not sure who makes an AT 37”x18” tire that is E rated.
