Purchased brand new Expert Grill Commodore Pellet Grill for $167 Will it Work!?
Просмотров 22 тыс.3 года назад
We purchased a brand new Expert Grill Commodore Pellet Grill and Smoker. It was unused but had been returned to the store because of a bad auger motor. It was marked down significantly! It has a two year factory warranty and we could return it to the store ( Walmart ) if it didn't work. We submitted a warranty claim and they shipped us a new auger motor. The process was super fast, and we had t...

Sorry vídeo you don’t really even show us how you wire it maybe you should stop moving the camera as much and use the tripod for its intended use
Whats the part # for the motor ? Thank you
I'm a pretty big guy (6ft 230lbs) and I would recommend buying the K2 Explorer and mid-mounting the seat and going solo, although you may need to rig up some extra back support depending on your shape and preferred posture... One thing I would say about the explorer K2 is that its self bailing whereas the challenger (specifically the K1) isn't. I assume the K2 challenger is also fully sealed? Problem with that is that they are tough to empty out if you take on a wave and definitely harder to empty out when you get it back ashore as the water kind of wants to roll around inside (like a car tire) The explorers are wider so maybe not as nimble but again that may suit a couple or a large occupant as you have more space to move around and to store kit if you are out all day and have kit with you. You can still race along in one of these in calm water though. The skeg does a pretty decent job keeping you on course I found the Explorer easier to get in and out of too as it's more open and stable. The Challenger is more like a streamlined kayak so you can navigate quicker BUT you are more enclosed and cannot spread yourself out as easy to keep yourself flat. One minor gripe with the challenger is that the seam around the front (where your knees are) is a sharpish seam so you may graze your shins clambering in especially if you are facing a small tide... more of an issue with the K1 than the K2 Challenger I guess, and probably less of an issue if you are a teenager or a smaller framed adult human ! I felt a little more vulnerable in the K1 from a stability standpoint but maybe because I took this out to sea, maybe 800meters off the shoreline with a bit of a swell. Still felt fine but I found my self sitting cross-legged to stabilise myself which I had never had to do in a more traditional 1man kayak There is a reason why these have proven to be so popular and it isn't just the price. I've seen RUclips videos of people fitting a foldable solid plywood deck in these with a proper chair for fishing. All in all, I agree with the info in the video. The challenger is great for kids and a little more agile and sporty, whereas the explorer is definitely more for leisure. In truth they are both ridiculously good and a lot of fun for everyone at the pricepoint. Well made, great accessories and very practical once you have set up and taken them down a couple of times. Just remember to buy everyone lifejackets and get yourself a few waterproof bags for your kit and you'll have a great time with any of these
Thanks. She looks like she's doing a cooking tutorial. It's endearing :)
nice! any way you can do a video showing how to replace the igniter??
Nice. I'm changing my 12 today
have you guys used it without the skeg? just realized i lost mine on the last trip a few years back and trying to decide if i should try using it still or not in a bay lol
I have used it without the skeg. You can use it this way, but its hard to keep it strait when paddling. The boat seems to twists more.
Muy bonito , yo también tengo uno igual ruclips.net/video/e-ivJRkOYFY/видео.htmlsi=kMROS7GfGhS8kL7d
Why the paddles are used in wrong side?
What about the headlight issue? Just replaced all tge stock lights witg LED but blinkers fail when headlights are on. How did you overvome the ground/current fliw issue?
Hello man ! How tall are you ? Because im 1meter 86 and my wife is very small and i live this kayak ! Its possible ?
You both are so organized. You have a lot of stuff and looks great. This was a great review.
Thank you so much!
Thanks for the review! Where was this? It’s so lovely!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it. It is in Silverton TX.
So in conclusion would it hold up well in the sea or ocean? Against strong waves?
Yea, I think so. I can’t see it being too much different than a hard sided kayak in my opinion.
Well i actually did purchase this kayak for sea use and the waves werent a problem at all but what truly did give us a hard time was the wind blowing against us. When the gust of the wind was too much we couldnt even move when paddling but without the wind in the waves we were kayaking very peacefully and with quite a fast pace. Thanks for the response though, appreciate it! @@livetoencourage1223
I have the K2 Explorer and I did a lot of sea kaiaking. It was def fun, it's stable and it has lots of space, but it doesn't go very straight and a lot of correction is needed (push harder on one side and smoother on the other). Besides, when I had strong wind, it was a pain as it's tall and it picks it up. I am def changing for the Challenger K2 as it's more kaiak than the Explorer, that feels like a boat/canoe. Though we had so much fun with the yellow boatie. Last year we went from Ksamil, Albania to Corfu, Greece in it, a 5km open sea crossing. Super adventure.
Yes! I totally agree with you. I like having them both to choose from based on how the wind and weather conditions are. Thanks for the info!
This pellet smoker is highly dangerous. If it stops burning because it thinks it is too hot already, the auger is still piling up pellets inside. After reigniting the fire the pile of pellets will smolder and then burst into flames, setting the whole smoker including any grease inside on fire. Happened three times to me, fortunately I was around to hose the fire down with water. Can't post a photo in the comments, but mine looks like a burnt down car with the whole front burnt off, paint burnt off. If I hadn't been around with a water hose, the whole house could have burned down. I will not operate this smoker again, it is just too dangerous.
Got this new in box for $109. Have had it two months and control unit broke already. No instructions on removal and installation.
I had to contact the company to have them send me the part and the instructions on how to do the replacement. Hope this helps.
@@livetoencourage1223 It took three attempts reaching out them before I finally got what I needed. Ended up being the temperature sensor, even though I changed out the control panel they sent first. Was a messy job since I had used the grill for awhile already, but got it done. Still a great deal for $109. :)
Tienes la pala del revés crack
Ich glaube beide Boote haben Ihre vor und Nachteile.Ich habe mir das Challenger K2 gekauft. Grüße aus Berlin
Challenger K2 is very good
how to repair the K2 if you have a punture or seam fail ruclips.net/video/dSiJnpwkWTI/видео.html
Loved this video. Thanks. Keep up the good work.
Thank you!
Nice video..
Thank you!
You guys are using your paddles backwards.. the curve side is to push through the water not round
Hahaha, I noticed it too. I've never seen anyone else using it like that!
WTF 😂
I can go 70 km withe this kayak in sea ???
I want to see how they do going down a river
We haven’t had the chance to take ours down a river ,but I will try and post a video if we do.
Where do you find the model number
nice video 👍👍 I bought the Explorer k2. How much do you inflate and have you any tips to deflate it effectivity?
There is not a certain psi that I know of to inflate to. You just use the gauge that is included with it to measure. I just let the air out and roll it or fold it up.
Thanks for your videos! They were very useful helping me to decide which one to buy 💪. Going to use it with my wife to go fishing in the bay area in the Dominican Republic.
Awesome! Glad it was helpful.
How did it go? Just bought one myself for the kids and we are only going to use it in seas.
What about challenger k1 vs explorer? I`m not decided yet. Please help me in choosing. Thanks guys. Ans in english or ita
FYI - Title of video says Challenger K2, but video shows and talks about the Explorer K2...
Thank you for catching that. I will be sure and change that.
@@livetoencourage1223 Thanks for your reviews! Informative and helped me to decide on my purchases. Excited to receive them!
Bay me then your amount?
I have the k2 and put a walmart ozark trail stadium seat in it
That's cool! I will have to try that!
Lol We're losing air quick
Try a excursion k2
Has anyone had trouble getting the metal grate at the bottom part of the hopper off? Several screws that I was trying to get off of the hopper as well as screws on the metal grate at the bottom were either stripping or were turning endlessly without unthreading to take out. Seems I’ll have to break the screws or the metal grate to get to the auger which is what I’m trying to do. Rain caked the pellets in the auger well, keeping it stuck. Anyone have any tips? Thank you.
I had the same issue with one screw. I was able to pry down while unscrewing to get it out
It's good to hear that I just brought me one
When does Walmart have these sales lol? I keep looking online and they're all $300+. Really like this model though, can you tell me around what time you bought it last year? Was it around some holiday or sumn? Thanks!
The only reason this one was this price was because it was returned by a customer. This one we had to replace the auger motor before we could use it.
Two person green one or yellow
Great real life review! Tons of good information!
Thank you!
Just picked the same pellet grill at Walmart today for $140.00. Can’t believe how much cardboard they used to pack this badboy.
Wow! That’s a great deal for it!
Hi, what about fixing set for the Challenger? I dont see it as a belonging in the description at the webshops.
Because I am an overly large human at 6'5" tall and 275lbs, I want to get the Challenger K2 for just me. Same for my wife. Remove the front seat and use that space for gear. Thanks for the reviews!
You may want to look at the Excursion Pro being a bigger guy. It costs twice as much, but it's sturdier material, and comes with a foot rest, and a few other things. Also look into the Sea Eagle 370 pro. I believe it's slightly longer, and also made of stronger stuff. Hope this helps.
How much was the replacement motor?
I don’t know how much the motor was cause they just sent it to me for free because it was under warranty.
@@livetoencourage1223 thx for the info.
My Walmart ain’t marking this grill down. I’m in Jacksonville fl and it’s $297.
Ours was actually one that was returned back to the store. It was only marked down because it had been returned.
Did yout the oem harness?
I think the Challenger is an inflatable kayak and the explorer is more of an inflatable canoe.
Yes, I would agree as well.
fishing stuffs on an inflatable kayak... that's gonna go well...
What site did you use for the replacement
They don't have website that I know of. We just called the customer support number that was in our owners manual.
@@livetoencourage1223 could you post that number due to I lost mine

Does anyone know how to modify/add rotisserie to the expert grill..gas grill/pellets smoker?
How do you contact the company and which one is it that makes these? We purchased one and are getting error code when clocking on the power button and the fan comes on and that is it.
I used the app to contact them for support
@@zaya187 Yes you can use the app.
If you have your owners manual, they have their number listed in the back of it. 855-256-2160
I talked to them they said it's not under warranty since it was already built and out the box
