Current reproduction scabbards have eliminated the lip and added the spring retainer. There are originals out there where there is no movement of the diamond. It depends how tightly the pins are bent on the reverse side of the grip plate.

I have found i hat on my dead fathers attic, it looks to be a m43, and it has a square stamp inside, with both SS and GZ marks, and i belive it orgins from finland, and its like the green gray variant, is it real u think? Its in rlly good condition and the stamp is barley visible

I bought mine afew years ago. I love it but the metal has kind of lost its back and turned white. Is this just from handling it ? Can i get back the original black finish. If anyone has had thr same issue or any suggestions?

We get these cut up in America until we get the NFA overturned. We just got bumpstocks back. Hopefully the technology will exist to fix these in the future to its former glory.

Back in the early 70s I picked up a Luftwaffe DD M35, complete with liner and chinstrap, for $35. I bought a similar one 3-4 years ago and that cost over $1,000.

Sorry to hear about your past experience selling to the States. I've purchased an M42 from the UK just two weeks before and I received it without any problems. The helmet before, I purchased from Ukraine, and no problems there either.

I agree with your comments, relics are great if you know the history, a nice quality helmet is always desirable. (I treated a relic helmet, took it to the cinema and then bought it a McDonalds).

Very nice examples these helmets. I own a few myself, some nice examples, and three relic condition which hardly cost much at all. If I had to pick a favourite example of the ones I own, it would probably not be the most valuable out of all of them (I think my coastal artillery M40 would be worth the most given the condition) It would be an M18, probably on its third coat of paint, updated with an M1931 liner and with a really decent condition original Third Reich decal applied. I saw a helmet very similar in the Oscar Schindler museum in Krakow a few years ago, and as soon as I had chance to buy one similar I did. Great video.

Great video to show younger people how to get in at the cheap end. Some of the prices are scary....but a good relic is worth it , definitely...in a display context with paperwork , would make something that would set off any collection....i really like the relic with the bullet hole....can you see any of the decal up close or is it just a shadow?....cheers blitz boys 😊😊😊😊

Did you ever come across a sword called a German world war 1 civil service sword but it could have been worn by officers called a walking out sword a Long blade 35 inches mine's engraved with cannons and battle scenes it's got a nice mark on the manufacturer has a folding door with a wrap brass guard plain d-shaped guard
