    This is exactly why I make my own products. We really don't need much to grow and maintain our hair, its these big companies that are after our money that constantly push the narrative that we need their products. We just need water for moisture, natural oils to seal the moisture in, and we need to tuck the ends of our hair to retain length and prevent breakage. That's it.

    It happened to Carols daughter, and Shea moisture, the formulas changed after they sold their companies.

    Companies that buy black cosmetic companies eventually try to make the product cheaper and more suitable for white people’s skin and hair. They do this by replacing quality ingredients with cheaper lesser quality oils and WATER. It’s a money game. The new company doesn’t care about our skin and hair.

    I have Sisterlocks. I had them for 6 years and I have used Mielle's Rosemary Oil a few times and Mielle moracan oil clarifying shampoo I had no issues. The shampoo actually softened my hair which I do not mind because I want to soon take down my locs in near future. I threw away the products because of all of what's going on. I actually liked the product. It's too bad.

    I love your locks. They are very much given me Lisa Bonet freeness. If I was to grow my natural hair out and locks, that is what I would want. I wouldn’t want them to be neat looking. I would want that because it looks natural. That looks pleasing to the eye and it looks beautiful. Now if one has a tighter coiled hair texture they probably not gonna get away with this Static and especially to have party and spaces and twist because it hair texture but with your hair texture, your face the hair color all of it is giving me this freeness connection with nature. I just feel like mother nature right now that’s what I get and I love it. Sounds like they would give you that mother Africa treatment that we should be getting with our hair instead of these made up lock rules that we’ve done in America. They don’t even match Jamaica. Let’s face it.

    This has been happening since about the 1970's when black brands and black owned beauty supply stores where becoming really popular. Unless you maintain full ownership, formulating, manufacturing and distribution of your brand this can and most likely will happen. We, generally, don't have the resources to keep up with the growth and demand of the business without being acquired. The few black brands that have remained small in most cases have survived. For some reason many black brand owners are determined to be the biggest and monopolize all other black brands, but this pursuit usually ends up with this outcome. Black women are about 10% of the population but buy about 90% of beauty products. There is a war going on for our dollars, and our hair and black beauty brands end up being the casualties.

    That girl, Monique, what she should’ve did was just sold the business and started over with something new and removed herself from that product because once she sold it to PG, it was no longer her company and they knew they were gonna change her product ingredients and now she is still the face of it all but she doesn’t have anymore control of Mielle And they let her take all the backlash

  • @natashastcyr6903

    You should keep that bottle because you got the one of the last batches that was sent out before they changed the formula! A friend of mine owns a small natural hair care and she’s black woman owned and she was proposition by Amazon to work with or sell her products or something they wanted to do and she said no because they wanted to mass produce, and they would change the ingredients in order to fulfill the amount quantity so that Monique say the formula hasn’t been changed she’s a lie lie impossible natural ingredients it takes longer to produce because their organic and natural they’re not easily ready and the amount to put into target you have to have mass production

    • @LaZy3LocD
      @LaZy3LocD 7 дней назад

      Thank you so much for sharing your insight. It’s really making me think that the changes could definitely be a batch problem as well, and I might actually hold off on buying another bottle for now. It’s unfortunate to hear about the challenges small businesses face when the the trade-off to mass-produce could create pressure to change their formulas to something subpar but I can see how it’s inevitable. Natural ingredients do take longer to produce and also not persevered the same way if ever- and it makes sense that mass production could compromise their quality. I’ll definitely keep this in mind, and I appreciate you sharing your friend’s experience - it really highlights the importance of supporting brands that stay true to their values. 💯

I did a complete chop, 😊and now I've just completed my first year of microlocks. My hair is thriving, thick, and healthy. I am currently using the head and shoulders royal oils collection for my locks with homegrown aloe for my hair masque.

    As a Locs Specialist as well as Locs client, I would suggest that you do more legwork to find the Locs Specialist or Locs Technician you can be comfortable with and be a good partner in your locs journey. Be a good partner by staying committed to the schedule and plan you both set in the beginning. If you decide to go diy (which I can relate to) assume the responsibility for the fallout that comes. I see no need to make disparaging remarks about the community you previously joined to the broadcast social media. Ultimately, I am happy for you to receive your desired results.

    • @LaZy3LocD
      @LaZy3LocD 7 дней назад

      Although I appreciate the suggestion of finding a loctician that I can partner with in my loc journey, I actually prefer to remain DIY and plan to keep it that way. I maintain my locs in a very unorthodox manner, which may be unproblematic for me but may provoke a response from a loc specialist that I’d rather avoid altogether. I also want to clarify that my “disparaging remarks” is my right to speak on since those aspects are a part of my overall personal loc journey and experience. Nonetheless your input is valued and thanks for watching.

    I have used and purchased this oil for awhile but the last bottle I purchased this past year is definitely a different formula because I do feel my hair is not reacting the same. But the bottle I purchased last year was still OK, so I think that they are playing around with the formula… seeing whats cheaper…. but I think I’m no longer going to purchase, because of how my edges have been reacting recently, where it didn’t do that before.

    • @LaZy3LocD
      @LaZy3LocD 7 дней назад

      Thank you for sharing your experience. I know it can be frustrating when a product you’ve trusted for so long suddenly doesn’t work the same. It’s definitely possible that they’ve changed the formula, especially if you’re noticing differences in how your hair reacts. I think it’s smart to move on if your edges aren’t responding well anymore. Your hair’s health always comes first! 💯Thanks again for adding to the conversation, and I hope you find something that works even better for you moving forward!

    The products SEEM to drastically change when the "big companies" start to mass produce the products. That was my experience many years ago with Carol's Daughter. At that time, I used the Carol's Daughter brand. When the brand was no longer a small business, the formulations changed. The "big companies" are more concerned about making money than producing natural quality products.

    Girl when you get any type of locks you still have to maintain it, 6 years, are you kidding me, get outta here wit that. It’s matted, cut that mess out and start from scratch

      As long and as beautiful that her locks are, they have been maintained. Deric comes to point where you have something that’s so thick and so long that it becomes a little unmanageable at times we’re living every day life and I can see that in her locks. You can see where they’ve been maintained or they’ve been Combined since the beginning of the length of her hair. Like the life and sometimes and that is not six years of combined locks or matting. That’s a few months. Especially in the front and the back maybe slightly longer, but not even a year. Again beautiful locks to have within six years come up most of us wish we could. Why would you suggest someone to cut off their locks for that little bit of maintenance that needs to be done? Are you one of those that believe in having to be in a spiritual journey a journey that you go along with your hair or is it just fashionable for you and you just go around just add nonfat lock so you can be cute?

    I’m sorry, but your eyebrows are extremely off centered that I can’t focus on anything you’re saying.
