Well it was cool to finally see how the older 1200w models with the "twinflo" dual stage motors compare to the 620w models with the single stage Italian Ametek motors.

Big thanks to Josh for being willing to pick these up. I sent my Sebo dealer rug home with him after we cleaned it using various machines. He had a lot of fun with the Mytee extractor I think.
Experiment: Does a crb help remove dry soil?
Просмотров 39214 дней назад
So a failed hunt for a well priced Certified pile brush lead to me purchasing this older host machine, while it does not yet have dry pickup capability like some of the newer models the question remained in my mind, does the agitation of brushes meant to lift carpet pile truly loosen dry soils? While my sample size is a mere 1 I think it's safe to say that it does.
Measuring power nozzle RPMs

It started off just wanting to compare the battery powered EBK360DC to the 120v EBK360 and then I thought why not throw some other popular heads into the mix and see what they do. As stated brush roll RPM is only a part of the story. The Sebo's lower RPM does not necessarily mean it's worse, many people are quite happy with the performance of the ET series. Things like the brush roll pattern an...

This compact power nozzle from Wessel werk would be an excellent choice for those with a mixture of low/medium pile carpet and hard floors. Due to it's well sealed design it would also be a great option for lower powered vacuums. The downside of it is that the 4 row multi surface brushroll also makes it susceptible to hair tangling around it. Fortunately it is easily removable for easy cleaning...

Putting a non serviceable motor in a water machine is so dumb! Like of all the major types of vacuums out there water ones are the most likely to experience bearing issues due to user neglect or misuse. I'm not even sure you can buy a standalone motor for these.

The airpath was full of caked on dirt and the unit smelled of stagnant wa...

Oreck Dutchtech DTX1300 airflow test
I get people wanting *big power* but seriously having more airflow and nearly 90% of the waterlift with nearly half the wattage and one less stage is incredible. I will say I've seen older 1200W Henry 200s get about 100-102" waterlift. I have an NVQ380 commercial vac with the 2 stage Twinflow and it pulls about 100" (not sure of the airflow I don't have an anemometer yet). I wonder what wouuld make the NRV do slightly less.
Well it did pull a little over 100 at the body as for why it pulled less at the hose it's hard to say exactly i'd assume with as dirty as it was it was used commercially and perhaps the swivel cuffs in the hose are more worn allowing more leakage but that's speculation really. Could also be that the damaged machine cuff was leakier than expected.
@Blackheartvacs That would make sense. By the way what's plastic adapter you use on your anemometer when you test air flow at hose ends?
@@WillieWonka928D Oh that's just a funnel I trimmed to fit.
i have the red dual stack oreck
Cool!
I just bought one of these on Ebay with a ton of extra attachments. Bought it to use in my 23ft RV which is all vinyl flooring. I specifically needed something that didn't need to stand up for storage, and could be tucked away in a bathroom cabinet, so a stick vac wouldn't work. I think for my purposes of using it 5-6 times a year in my camper, it should suffice.
Yeah for all hard flooring it'll be fine.
i would imagine you have sold it??
Can't remember what exactly I did with it but it's no longer in my possession
What about Eureka/Sanitaire fan on Hoover Decade 80
I don't know if they'd be compatible.
Question about a different elite model what stores sold the green Hoover soft and light supreme model u4264-930 which has a headlight and was soft bag
I don't really know which stores sold what models.

So it is rare so take great care of it
I actually Don't have it anymore, my collection is always changing it seems, and decided the DC39 was more practical for my purposes
I have a dyson dc11 i heard it is in some dyson musuems
Where could you buy this vacuum at when it was brand new
I'm not sure. I think some were sold in dealerships like vacuum shops but I think some were also sold in big box retailers.
@ ok cool thanks for the info
Holy fucking straight cut gears, that thing sounds horrible lol
Eh it's not AS bad in person but yeah kind of annoying sounding
very interesting, especially since the cleartrak is already a good vac. I wonder if using a Kirby with a carpet fluffer would be similar.
Good question. I'd imagine it would be somewhat effective but unknown if it would be as effective as a pair of counter rotating brushes.
It’s cute so bright. I need wear sunglasses lol
That light is pretty nice on your hard floors it allows you to really see all the junk, kind of like a Miele S7/U1
How do the filter and dirt basket go?
the filter goes on the back behind a door you have to like insert one side of it in first. as for the basket i'm assuming you mean the perforated cage thing? It goes right into the bag chamber and also holds the bag if memory serves
How did you disassemble the top connector? I mean the one you showed at 7:32. I've tried a few times with mine but it won't get move from its place.
I can't remember
The switch is odd on these, but once you get it figured out, it makes sense. You have to get that the green button just isn’t the power button on this. I’ve always felt Lindhaus had lower water lift but decent. CFM numbers.
I could see the average person being confused by that setup and then wondering why the vacuum "isn't working" I know the purpose of it is to allow the brush motor to run on it's own for their dry cleaning system but it's like couldn't they do this in a more....simple way? Their lack of airflow is their greatest weakness. A machine that costs what they do should perform better. We see other brands using 4.3 motor that are capable of getting 60+ CFm at the base while Lindhaus uprights trail behind in the 40s. That said their brushroll is their redeeming quality and those work very well.
id love to see more of this machine! there's hardly any videos of the AF2 out there!
Unfortunately I don't have it anymore
I owned this before the guy you got it from, got it. The original wheels were absolutely, horrifically worn out, I think he replaced them along with the lower hose. Indeed a questionable vac, but in another decade or so these will be unicorns lol
I love the Royal power tanks. I have a 4700 made in 1999 my grandma bought new in 2000 and gave to me in 2009 and a 4600 made in 1995 I bought on Craigslist around 2020. I have restored the 4700 to near new condition with many NOS parts (many of which came from the Henry Co.). It is in such good condition now and since parts are basically impossible to find now I got to the point I didn’t want to use the 4700 anymore because I was afraid of damaging or breaking something and not being able to fix it so I got the 4600 about 5 years ago to use as my daily driver. I have a stockpile of both NOS and gently used parts and hope to use these for the rest of my life. I bought a brand new Kirby in 2019 but only used it a few times before returning to the Royal, I just like using them a lot more and find they are a lot less aggressive on the carpet but groom it very nicely. Now the Kirby sits in a closet in near new condition. It’s a shame Royal stopped manufacturing these and is basically defunct as a brand now. I wish they could have maintained operations here in the US as Kirby and Filter Queen and maybe just sold off the Dirt Devil label to TTI.
It is a shame they were such a solid machine! Just a few tweeks like Hepa Bags and a more updated powerhead and they'd be in line with many high end machines of today.
Very interesting. EBK 360 WOW! I just wonder is it really necessary to have so high rpm. I always felt that ET1 cleaned very well. However my EBK 340 seems to do a bit better, but I am not sure.
I feel like the Sebo is one of the best built, if not the best, and has great features like the removable brushroll but I feel like it's performance is below that of the Lindhaus or WW. I do have to wonder how all of the RPMS change under load too.
I actually prefer the ET-1, but my reasoning and impressions might be due to the relatively small opening seeming accelerating the CFM/sq. inch at the nozzle and really seeming to increase the efficacy. It also seems to create a very well balanced seal with a variety of carpet types.
@@ABG2412 That is sensible
@@Blackheartvacsdepends on what it's attached to
I got three miracle mates I pick them up for cheap. All these machines are based off the compact design they had a heyday with this design. I got two that will give me 90 in of water column at the end of the hose and one for some reason it gets over a hundred at the hose end. I'm a bit of a vacuum collector My opinion too heavy crappy hoses cord not long enough. But motor on steroids....lol All three of mine have the sebo power heads which I have to say are amazing power heads and they have a brush strip that can be replaced yes you can't use them on hardwood but who uses a powerhead on hardwood....lol I would use the hardwood floor tool. I had a central vacuum with the lynnhaus powerhead Very nice as well. I have a Wessel power head on my miele vacuum, I like the way it works but seems more breakable than the other two. Out of all the vacuums I have I have recently got on the Kirby kick. These things are crazy Little more time consuming to rebuild and polish up but superior CFM and your carpets don't look anywhere near the same as any of these other power heads. I think a Kirby is superior on carpet hard floor different story.
Yeah they're definitely way bulkier and heavier than they need to be. The Ametek 115923 is the motor i've seen in the few samples I've had open I wonder why your 3rd one has stronger specs. Eh i'm not too fond of the Sebo ET-C and I often will use a powerhead on hard floors out of laziness.
@Blackheartvacs The first two are miracle meat platinum vacuums like your video The third one is a miracle mate MK1 which is a little bit older version looks kind of more like a TriStar with the cord reel. I believe they're all the same motors I only know how to identify the Ametek motor by the color of the brush holders They're all orange I'm assuming that's the one you mentioned I think it's considered as the high performance variant. Often wondered if one of those motors would fit in a filter queen but I think they might be slightly taller then the Ametek 1631101.
@@robmclellan6779 That's interesting another collector recently told me he thought his MK1 was stronger than the platinums he had. As for Identification there's typically a sticker on the fan case with it's information.
Suction so strong, it's painful! 👍😃
Nice! Looks like a fun cleaning job!
It had it's novelty but i've been doing it for 8+ years so it's routine by now.
I just found the ultimate power brush setup for my US sold Vax 221 (sold at Sears at the time) that I inherited from my grandparents.
That's an interesting combo
hey I was curious where you could get the permafilter for it. We got the vacuum but no perma filter for it
I don't think i've come across a replacement unfortunately. If you are invested into the machine one could get a 3d printed part design to use a more common filter
My literal dream.
Now it is within reach.
@@Blackheartvacs Yea, only if it sold in Europe and wasn't like 600 USD+. But it would be really cool if I could get one and attach it to my Henry.
@@匿名的-1 I'm shocked that it's not sold in Europe each part says it's made in Europe. Wonder why it's not available.
@@Blackheartvacs It's a bloody nightmare to get vacuums with Electric brushes. The only new vac I can think of with these powerheads that aren't stick vacs is the Sebo K3, E3, D3 Premium. Lindhaus is kinda hard to get, you gotta buy through hotel equipment sellers and Miele no longer sells the once sold C3 Complete Electro with the same WesselWerk head as this, but mains powered. I guess it's because we usually don't have wall to wall carpets. At least not in continental Europe just a little bit in the UK.
@@匿名的-1 That would be frustrating.
That would be absolute game changer for me living in Finland where everyone uses straight suction canisters. I have been thinking to convert my Electrolux Paragon PH to cordless. It wouldn't be too difficult. Motor in it is just about the same size as many cordless drills and they are cheap. Hardest part would be changing the belt gear between the motors.
Should be obtainable since WW is a german product. Hope you can find one!
Nice vid. I have one of these as well, originally got it as more of a novelty than anything. However, I do find it pairs really nicely with my Numatic NBV240NX. Compared to everything else I've tried, the NBV240NX + EBK360DC would absolutely be my choice if I were to try using a cordless as my only vacuum.
That would be a decent combo. If i recall correctly Nacecare has been selling their products with it and the corded models + nozzle get a gold rating from the CRI where cordless models get a silver which for a cordless machine is pretty good.
Nice mod! 20 plus CFM is a great airflow boost. 👍
Oh yeah! and the airflow retention that should occur. 3D printing has a lot of potential uses. I have been designing pieces to mate a eureka style upright to a backpack. Hard to say when i'll actually get those printed and implemented though
I need owners manual for this model
What a bummer. ☹️
Get your bags and belts off eBay and Amazon now days no more getting out of the house now days everything comes to your house or the po box
Great to see inside one of these. Lots of thin plastic though. Can't wait to hear it run.
It was certainly unusual which is why i decided to document it. Unfortunately this motor is non serviceable it has a large rounded piece over the fan and the final piece of the separator doesn't appear to come off.
Bagged vacuum cleaners are more greater for your health than bagels
New vacuum cleaners today don't last long like that thing does i had 5 year old Hoover that just went out
5 years seems pretty good by modern standards. I do agree though part of it is that these older models spun at a lower rpm meaning a much slower wear rate. They are quite lacking in user conveniences though.
5 years is not good enough for me only 20 years is good enough for me
i have this same vacuum its a cleaning beast
I've loved the performance of these Direct Drive models. I've only experienced the older purple 2 stage motor model, but I imagine these have just as good, if not better performance than those older models.
I have the Aerus Fresh Era version of that, which uses a completely different designed cleaner head. I honestly prefer them over the Oreck XL Classic models in terms of performance, but it's a shame that parts support for these have disappeared about as quickly as they came out (mostly contributed to TTI buying out Oreck).
Are the inner workings the same? Like the motor and what not. i've suspected that they are but was unsure.
@@Blackheartvacs The motors (and the entire top end by extension) are the same on those I believe, it's just the cleaner head is shaped differently more to resemble the look of a traditional Aerus Electrolux.
@@graysonsvacsandmowers5426 Okay that's kind of what I figured, thanks for the confirmation.
This is interesting vacuum. I thought that I have seen it before and yes. This was also sold as a Vax VCU 02 Commercial Upright in the UK. It was rated at 450 watts so pretty much the same.
So there was a vax variant too! I thought there may have been as I was looking at all the re-labels

Do you know of the Relax Air I have one of those . It's like a cast iron and its electric is on the out side 😯 I've never plugged it in it's just a kool looking vacuum 😊
Hmm i'm guessing auto correct may be at play here. I've heard of Rexair if that's what you meant. They are the parent company of Rainbow which are still in production.
It's not necessary to put any oils on the brushroller. They're called felt bearings and are meant to be ran without lubrication.
Huh come to think of it the felt seals seemed very dirty....never even thought that they were like covered in grease or something i just figured it was 40 years of filth

Does the handle have to be reclined for the brush roll to turn on?
Yes, just checked mine, i was unsure
@ So the brush roll turns off when handle is in the upright position.
@@Bunkysworkshop Correct
@ Thank you 😊. I have purchased one on eBay and the lady said that she can’t get the brush roll to work. I said I think the handle should be in the down position in order for it to work. She said she didn’t try that but will check it today.
How did you convert it to the HEPA bags?
Oh you just need to change the adapter at the top of the fill tube. Part 190484 is the round style used on the heritage II and is compatible with the twist on hepa bags. This particular Heritage also had the leather like fill tube (cloth-like exterior, leather interior) so i replaced that too, part 190384 IF you need it.
Try wearing some cut proof gloves to grip on to the turbine so that way you can loosen that nut off i did the same with my Panasonic MCV 7395 upright and i managed to remove the nut that holds the turbine in place to repack the bearings
Eh my luck with that has been limited but the impact driver works fine so no need for me to do it manually, a good tip for those without one though!
@@Blackheartvacs yes in fact i wear cutproof gloves and use a ratchet wrench to loosen that nut off so that way i am able to remove the nut so i can deeply clean the motors out
I like these beltless Panasonics! It’s great to be able to shut off the brushroll at the handle for bare floor cleaning. That electrified hose is definitely a big help - this must have been the top-of-the line deluxe version Sears stores. I miss Sears - what a loss to the North American consumer.
To each their own. The high cost of replacement is my main reason for disliking them. Yup I'd assume these were like the very top trim model.
I have one of these and I’m absolutely delighted with it 😃👍
I can see why it's very handy!
