Automating my Bambu A1 LED Light to Switch on via a Vibration Sensor
I am using Hubitat for my home automation hub, this will work with you Home Assistant users too...
Add an Aqara Vibration Sensor and a Sinilink Wifi USB switch to your Bambu 3D printer and then you'll have an automated light switch on to see your prints via the onboard camera with way much more quality!!
I'll be looking at using the spare onboard 24v AMS light port to power it all in the future. Leave a message in the comments if you want to see a full video once I have all the parts.
Until next time... Geek it up!!!

What the hay...Don't think I'll need it really. I do have a cat who may want to run some jobs without permission so that will stop her, other that that, any accidental spills or drops 'could' protect it. For others with kids about or where their printer is in a high movement area it could be valuable.

      I did mine via usb. FYI Pibooth won't run if you don't have a camera connected to it when it starts unless you have a plugin installed for debugging that pretends there is a camera active. Might be the reason why you are having issue. I think this is a compatible list that I just googled. The DSLR needs to be compatible with gphoto2. gphoto.org/proj/libgphoto2/support.php

      @geekydad8565 Месяц назад

      I've seen some small charging modules so I don't see an issue putting one in. You can even find smaller rechargable batteries to balance out the usable space. The default battery lasted me a couple years, with the AAA's it should be much much much longer! I'm just using cheap rechargeable batteries and once they run out I'll do a quick swap with some spares I always have about so having a charging module would not be required for my use.

  • @skeetamacgyver1821

    How did your system work over the last year? I had a drain hole installed into my skimmer box. The benefit of this is that you are draining freshwater off the surface of the pool (sucked over the weir in your skinmer box). This prevents the loss of all of the expensive chemicals and reduces the complexity. The other thing you could do is to dig a hole in your garden bed and install a drainage box a couple of feet below the surface. Cover it in geotech fabric to prevent soil filling it and bury it under the garden. This will give water somewhere to go and absorb.

    • @geekydad8565
      @geekydad8565 Месяц назад

      I've had it drop off the zigbee network a handful of times but i think that is most likely my setup. I've thought about mods to the skimmer box like you mentioned but I'll look at that down the track to be done by a professional. I don't believe absorbing will be an option for me and I'd have to drain instead. It would definitely be the better approach... Not as geeky though 😜

    Absolute legend, have been trying to figure out a simple and cheap solution to do exactly this. I have a water tank, a sunken fire pit, and pool, and when we have seriously excessive rain all of them can fill up. This doesn't always cause a problem, but if the heavy rain means our stormwater drains are also full, there's nowhere for this water to go. At the moment I manually run around controlling pumps to send excess water away from the house. I already have 2 zwave leak sensors and 3 pumps. This idea is going to allow me to automatically send the water for less than $20. Thanks for posting!

    • @geekydad8565
      @geekydad8565 7 месяцев назад

      That's fairly harsh. For my use it will always be a fridge not a freezer. I initially noticed a difference while camping out in the hot summer for several days with both units running side by side. The smaller fridge had the compressor running constantly day and night while the other did not as much. This observation was proven with my tests side by side even in the cooler indoor environment in my home. A cooler room should not require a frequent run of the compressor. A hot car will mean it would happen more often. The store did not want to provide further details of this issue. They just fobbed off an excuse that even a fridge at home needs to run constantly. What I showed in my video is a comparison of two fridges of the same brand and comparing the power use in their same environment. One proved more inefficient than the other. Others online have reported the same issue with the smaller fridge and they did not have a comparison to go by. By all means, please buy the small fridge. If this is just sitting in your car while the engine is on this will not be an issue for you at all and you'll have a great experience most likely. If you plan to use it camping while off the grid you'll be disappointed if your solar is not keeping up with the demand as what happened to me. Going back to my large fridge I didn't have the problem again.

    Thank you for the review, so handy. Have played around many ways of using the portable espresso. Personally, I like a strong long black coffee, bitter the better. A few things I have found. Pod capsule coffee using a non OEM Espresso capsule, have found after numerous attempts that the outflow membrane is not being pierced enough, making a very weak coffee. Dont have access to the OEM Espresso capsules, not sure whether these have the same issue?. Then used the grind coffee basket option, also played around with varying grinds, finally needed a fine grind to get a good strong intense coffee, up there with a barista made coffee. Personally have experienced most long blacks to be a very hot coffee, the portable espresso for me makes a perfect temp hot coffee, but only of espresso size, not long black. Overall very happy, as I am in remote locations majority of the time, gets me as close as to the real thing.

    I wish people would not keep reviewing machines designed to give you good espresso on the move and not talk about how good the coffee is. It just makes me think the reviewer does not care as long as it produces something hot and coffee flavoured.and that is no help to me. Would you be able to say how it compares to your favourite coffee bar or a espresso machine? That gives me some sort of comparison.

      The instructions that came with it are absolutely useless! Would help if they paid for a translator to write the instructions instead of writing it in Chinglish.

    Nice review. It's definitely fit for purpose and reasonably priced... did a review of my own a while back and happy to report that it's still going strong. Some folks don't like the clicking of the hinge, but that doesn't bother me and have had no issues with the hinge after months of use.

      It's in between to be honest. It's warmer than luke warm. It's warm enough for me but for my wife she would like it hotter as it can cool down quickly in the cold outdoors.

      As far as I know there is no way to disable it, but if you take the case off, you can easily locate the buzzer module and de-solder it and remove it completely from the board.

    I've tried multiple times to get this thing to work, but when I put the pod in and try to screw the base on, it's not screwing in as the base doesn't line up to be able to screw it on firmly. HELP!

    • @geekydad8565
      @geekydad8565 Год назад

      Does it screw in place without the pod? With the pod in place, when screwing it on it compresses the pod to puncture it to allow the hot water to go through it. If it works without the pod but not with it, don't be scared to put some pressure to puncture it.

    Hi, I have the same thermostat and for the light setting is set to turn on at 8am to 6pm but for some reason it’s turning on at 1am as well. I have it set to correct current time and no matter what changes I make to the settings, it won’t turn off (it’s currently 1:43am because the damn thing turned on the lights and won’t me up. Can anyone help me on why this might be happening?

      At the moment you have two timers set up and it sounds like you only want one. To disable a timer the start and end time need to be identical ie set both to 12am

      @@Nao-lp6zx Unless they ship models that operate differently, the L1 and L2 for me only operates the 2nd plug ie the light. This is so you can have 2 timers for the one device. The first plug ie heater will run 24/7 and controlled based on the temperature thresholds only. This is how mine works.i disabled my L2 and heater working all the time
