Most of those BTT mainboards can't be flashed over USB - you have to compile the klipper firmware, rename it to "firmware.bin", put it on the root of an SD card, reboot the printer
Thats what I did for the BTT ones, the creality board was the only board I tried to flash over USB Thanks for watching!
Liar
Hey man, I had the same 8bit mainboard and the directions in this video (ruclips.net/video/lNAg9rnfc0A/видео.htmlsi=UC1g9jTIWGxeKgv2) was the only way that I could get the firmware onto the board. It was a wild ride but it worked perfectly afterwards.
Thanks for the link!
You may have lost the challenge but that is no valid excuse for not finishing the project. I like to see how you slowly wander towards my world with tools on the floor, no empty horizontal spaces, meaningful socks, printers all over the place and a developing fab for yellow. The video is of great quality, interesting project and fun to watch. But I want to see that baby print.
I would definitely like to revisit the challenge at some point, but right now I need the ender 3 for another video. Thanks for watching
It would prefer a dual z. But I don't want another bedslinger so I scrapped my broken one for parts.
Dual Z would've been nice. Pretty hard to fit that in the budget though
There are alot of Power Only USB Cables, i troubleshooted alot of Klipper Builds and in 90% its a Power only no Data Cable. :D
Yep thats definitely a common one. Unfortunately I could only find 2 of those mini USB cables around the house
Nice video!
got the notifications for both the videos at the same time love the vids
Would be cool to see this working.. :(
I'll revisit the idea eventually, but I need the ender for another project now so it'll be a while :(
Fun video. I had hoped your last ditch effort was going to be going back to Marlin on the stock boards just to get it running at all.
I suppose I could've done that... I dont think I would've been able to keep up on marlin though 😅
Great Video 👍

Make sure to check out Tommy's video here! ruclips.net/video/eruh2EOTG8U/видео.html All music is by killedmyself
Hey, This is a pretty good guide! Just wanted to say that if you have dark filament or filament that makes it hard to see the top layer of the EM calibration, shining your phones flashlight through the back of it is a great way to see voids/Under extrusion within the print. :)
Good tip!
You should try welding your own steel frame, is not that hard but is much more sturdy and stiff.
That would be awesome!
The min layer time problem pretty much sums up why klippers pressure advance implementation sucks for speed
So this is what happens when you spend like 10 grand on 3D printer parts. Interesting.
This project specifically? I haven't been keeping tabs on everything but I think it should be around $1000 US all in for everything I'm doing Once the printer is done I will tally up everything though
@@mitsubishimakes No I mean all the other machines and spare parts you have laying around. I had a similar (smaller) collection in the 2010s. Now I have one Prusa Mini and I've banned myself from building any more 3D printers :)
@@JamieBainbridge Ah yes. It's not an addiction until I admit that I have a problem 😜
I'm a big fan of Xol been using it on my 2.4 for a long time with a Sherpa Mini. You did good with this but I loathe the mantis ducts. They are big for no good reason because I don't print PLA on my Vorons. But otherwise, this is an awesome job.
With a high enough chamber temp ABS needs just as much cooling as PLA does. I'm not at that point on my own build yet though
the rolling shutter frame is really killing your print footage.
If only I could afford a camera with global shutter 😅
Great video - I like the took of that toolhead. I am looking for something like that that is fairly tool and thing with the cooling funds coming down from above rather than being at the side or the front for a multi head print I am working on.
Final price??
BOM price is $300 USD. You can find the BOM on the printables page
How do you upload gcode to kappy? I have a neptune 3 pro and i use an sd card for it. The parts list on printables doesnt mention how to interact with kappy, ie- pi, arduino, micro sd, etc.
You'd upload files via wifi to the klipper host
I will never understand printers, that use unsupported linear rails. Thats not what those were designed for. Linear RODS were made for this purpose. Your Z Axis is going to be floppy as hell, and any residual motion vibration will get transferee easily to your prints…
The Z works just fine, no issues on prints at all
What much much smaller 3d printed frame 3d printer were you referencing? Apparently I am out of the loop... haha
I was talking about my rook, the original one before I gutted it to build the rook 2020. I filmed the whole build of it, never got around to editing it though
@mitsubishimakes Thank you for the response! I just came across your 4WD Rook video and realized that was probably what you were talking about! Having Googled photos of Rooks with fully 3D printed frames it is definitely a very interesting styled printer!
How much did it cost?
BOM is around $300 USD, I spent like $75 US since I have a lot of spare parts
Is this printhead being released? Or are you looking at anyone else to assist in working on it?
It's not my design, so I'm not privy to information about a release date or if the author is looking to get anyone else involved, sorry. If you want more information, you can DM jakoob874 on discord. There's a small group of beta testers on there
@@mitsubishimakes THANK YOU! :)
