got an xs limited as my first car in 2021 for $1000 cause everyone else was offering the guy nothing. immediately loved its style and nicheness, still own and drive it daily. Can literally steer the car with one finger, great city and backroad as it weighs feathers. $50 will get you about 250kms easily, forever daily

This just confirms the sad truth that Toyota rarely get the the recognition that they deserve. I have a 1991 Corolla Gti-16v, which is without doubt one of the best hot hatches of the era, Yet the motoring press and hot hatch fans are brainwashed with Fords and Peugeots

Can attest, I want a BMW 4 series and they’re 5-10k more than any European market, the main reason the Japanese imports are so tempting is because even if the savings are small, I’d get the safety from the car itself being fully optioned (from what I noticed) and very well maintained. The vrt charge is a buzzkill but it’s what I have to live with

I got 1 not to long ago have just done a engine swap 3SFE > 3SGE because the trans was bad and had a spare already on the engine i pulled from a 6th gen celica Its slightly modified but it really is a nice car to drive, fairly quick for what it is without the vvti, getting about 600km to a full tank on open road, does me nearly a whole week or 2 in gas around town and i have lowered springs and a strut bar up front but it handles very well Its a shame though here in NZ there is a few but the numbers are dwelling, alot of people buy them as cheap shitboxes, ive seen 2 or 3 others around the city i live in and 1 of which lives around the corner from me Has heaps of clear coat peeling and the whole left side is dented or kicked in and in really poor shape, seen this alot with celicas too which sucks But all and all so far been a pretty awesome car, looking to put a 3SGE BEAMS or failing that a 3SGTE but other then that ill keep it stock

Irish customers - being charged some of the highest new car prices in the whole eu - even more so for EV - the depreciation issue is very serious as Ireland has always enjoyed a large second hand car market - EV are primarily designed for new car sales similar to IPhones and so the customers are expected to suffer huge losses to keep updating to new models - wont happen - people are listening to the horror stories of losses from the ev evangelists and shrieking away from making the switch for this reason - then the charging experiences is just not good enough - Ireland need to do some serious thinking about what the strategy is for the next 10 years - the existing plan is not going to work - the BS of thinking everyone will magically want to pay much much much more money for new cars because they are electric was never a realistic plan and of course its Ireland so it has to fail before anyone actually thinks about trying to do something to address - don’t hold your breath - they haven’t a clue what their motor plan is for the next 10 days never mind the next 10 years 😅

I just purchased an insanely clean and low mileage 1998 XZ Trueno, it sadly doesn't have the 4A-GE but it was just too clean to pass up. It should be arriving to the US in a couple weeks.
