Flying With Purpose, Racing Pigeons. Hello everyone!! If you are reading this, chances are you like, love, or are intrigued by, pigeons, especially Racing Pigeons.
I had homing pigeons in Portugal when i was a teenager given to me by my older brother when he came into the US. I kept his birds for about 4 or 5 years but did not race, until i too came into the US in 1994. Fast forward 25 years later, i bought some racing pigeons online, and was given some good birds by local pigeon fanciers, namely Joe Allocca and John Minnuies, and began breeding in 2020 and racing in 2021. A big thank you to them.
A special thanks to Joe Allocca for his mentorship and friendship. I now race in NJ, in the challenging Central Jersey Combine.

You did excellent it was a crappy race it been that way in most of the races this young bird season. I was watching the birds come in from the race over my friends house he did good for sure but it was not the best race it was almost like something holding the birds back . i don’t have many birds left i lost half of my team to the one race and the stupid hawks. Good job, we raced Saturday but it was also a stuff race with slow speeds overall.

@@MaydisLoft they have been out and about flying and learning the neighborhood since 9 am and just trapped about 15 min ago most of the time flying from roof to roof and they flew around on the wing for a one and a half hours I was shocked they all flew that long the 2 you sent me and a pure staff van reet and a heitzman sion and black diamond onyx cross thank you again 🙏🏼💪🏼🏆🧬🪽🪽
Hey everyone gave you a hard time for sending them on a 150 mile toss in the middle of the week but you still won! Was that bird that won on Wednesdays 150 mile toss ?
Yes, I sent the whole team to that training. As we start the 200+ miles going to 250+ I think they can handle a 150 mid week and rest a few days for the following race. But I respect the opinion of those who say it's too much. If I had time to train myself I rather do 3 tosses of 50 miles versus 1 of 150 miles but each flyer has their own obstacles. Thanks for the comment.
@@MaydisLoft I agree! We need to try and be competitive with the schedule we have. This year all I have time for are 30 miles tosses, so I’ve been doing that 3x a week. We had a tough day Saturday and I still was able to manage winning our derby race with limited training. Many roads to victory.
