african women aren’t special 😭 we know not to
Well ...i don't know what im doing wrong or probably my hair porosity but I use dax and its just causes massive build up on my scalp and my hair...its war on washdays ,gotta scratch the gunk on my scalp and the hair. Well, basically I'm not a fan.Trying to go back to my shea butter days.
@@easydrawcreations this is exactly why i said not to use on the scalp,
Water and glycerin mix + grease is why I was able to surpass my growth plateau. I was already protective styling for years, but I was struggling with hydration, single strand knots and split ends (i have high porosity hair). Now I love my hair again. Nothing seals like grease.
@@22dolxxxphin22 good to know it helped you retain moisture, therefore length. 👏🏾
For me it's a simple as "if i wouldn't rub it on my face I'm not finna rub it on my scalp"🤷🏿 HOWEVER coating the ends is valid and permitted
So you never used Vaseline on your skin? And would you wash your face with shampoo?😂
@@22dolxxxphin22 for the first part yes, and I would use it on my scalp and skin but only if I'm SUPER hydrated. For the 3 question no, I said if I can use it on skin I cam use it on scalp but not the other way round. Body wash would be fine to use on your scalp but will damage your hair with prolonged use, which is why shampoo is specific to hair.
The message was perfect!
I love this young lady where is her page?❤ thank you for posting
Look… to each their own. To say someone is dumb because THEY decide to wear a frontal? Is dumb. wtf lol. I love my natural hair and wearing frontals. I like trying many styles and colors. My CHOICE. That doesn’t remotely make my intelligence levels. Lawd have mercy. Plus, I know plenty of women who may have AGED and wear wigs as they lost their hair, or health reasons and etc. damnnn let them do them. As much as you DO YOU. These MEN ya compete for.. don’t give a damn what you wear. Watch what they are liking and dating. Natural and non. Baby… smh. Just creativity and choice.
You were doing so well until you brought men into it. Why do we have to narrow down a woman’s opinion to men? It’s not always about them fgs. How did we go from lace frontal to embracing your natural hair, to "men won’t pick you?" Her delivery might not be the best, but She's clearly not a pick-me.
When I went natural 10 years ago, I just used oils as a sealant and my hair was constantly dry. After 3 years of that, I started using hair grease and used it for years…my hair loved it. Fast forward to 2023, I started using Shea butter instead, trying to use more natural products. My hair started shedding and I lost a significant amount of hair because it took me months to figure out it was caused by the Shea butter! Now I’m back to using hair grease, specifically Sulfur 8, Dax, Blue Magic and Virgin Hair Fertilizer. My hair is thriving again! Grease has never done me wrong, I’m never giving it up again! 😅
@@A_Wilson Thank you for sharing your experience 😊
I thought it was comedic 😂 I didn’t think it was coercion. The wigs do look very ridiculous 😂
LACE FRONTALS ARE STILL NEW TO ME. I've BEEN DOING HAIR SINCE THE 60S I USED TO USE PEOPLE OWN HAIR EDGES WITH WIGS AND IT LOOKED SO MUCH BETTTER. LACE WIGS ARE FOR MOVIES. If YOU GET A WEAVE, USE YOUR OWN HAIR LINE LIKE WE DID 15 YEARS AGO IT LOOKS SO MUCH BETTER. Don't GET MAD AT BLACK FOLKS, MY SISTERS WERE NOT ALLOWED TO GO OUTSIDE WITH OUT THEIR HAIR PRESSED AND THAT CAME FROM OUR AUNTS And GRANDMOTHERS THATS HOW WE WERE RAISED AND IS PART OF TRADITIONAL BLACK CULTURE. YOU DONT HAVE TO RELAX YOUR HAIR IT CAN BE PRESSED AND HOT CURLED AND THAT LOOKS BETTER THAN A RELAXER!
I figured I didn't properly articulate the part about grease feeding the fungus that causes dandruff... someone just pointed that out. In all, just stay away from grease if you experience dandruff,it can worsen it. 💯
I never really used hair grease like that. The smell of Sulphur 8 used to make me feel sick as a child. So, growing up and finding hair independence, i stayed away from anything grease. Tried Blue Magic and the indian hemp one as an adult, and im 100% sure it was in my mind, but I couldn't shake that generator/petrol smell😂
I feel you. You don't have to use it 😊
Can I comment or are we still fighting over Chidi? 🤣🙊
Lol, we're good. Two adults can disagree, let's just keep it respectful.
@natura__essie Ey.. Only God knows what happened between my people and yours 🤣😭 It gets rough hey! But anyways, I'm back greasing... It just makes sense... It seals in my moisture... 🤷🏾♀️... Grease is hairfood tho, on this side of the world... I took baby steps back into it... I would mix abit of my oils with some vaseline... And it worked wonders... Now, I've bought hairfood, and will mix it with my oil... Ofcourse after hydration... Grease is my sealant. Great vid once again.
I haven't tried grease as an adult, but I’m not against the idea. I'm really pleased with The Doux’s Dear Mama. My hair stays moisturized for the week, and the ingredients rinse easily from my hair, so I can use more moisturizing shampoos.

What head scarf / headband are you wearing I’ve been looking for one like that 😭 also great content per usual :)
@@deek5295 Its a random scarf I found in my mom's bag 😁. I get headaches from headband, but with the scarf,I have some control over how tight i want it to be. And,Thank you.
What’s that comb called? The short brown one in the beginning?
We call it cutting comb or wooden cutting (parting) comb.
@ thanks
Yes, condescending and immature delivery. I was happy when lace fronts came out. It's not that I don't like my hair. I like being able to change to straight hair without ruining my own hair. They helped me to grow my hair out. I never had nice edges so even when straight my short beady edges were not. I received negative comments about my 4c hair my entire life from family, friends, schoolmates and in dating. I put on a wig and people ask what country I am from. In my natural hair, there is no question I am of African descent! I wish things were not this way
The problem is this sensitive generation. She is right and it does look ridiculous. Even when it goes to God people are sensitive and want God but want sin toi become all the want to look at is that God looks at the heart and loves you as you are but forget he doesnt want tou to coem and stay as you are
Frontals always look like helmets, even the most expensive ones. Just wear your hair out. A majority of women aren't going through hairloss, those that are absolutely should wear wigs if that makes them feel better. If you have a full head of hair irrespective of length, just wear your hair out
I love closure wigs that I take off at the end of the day… what I also can’t stand are the glued down wigs. My goodness I feel like I’m wearing a tight swimming cap😭😭
They’re dumb to you but not to us. Mind your business grown people don’t need your opinion. African from Africa all of you women need to stop bleaching your skin.
I will never understand worrying about what another woman is wearing . Yikes this is pathetic
Her hair looks great so that’s why she’s creditable.
Your hair will look great when your care it
Some black Africans do not realize that they're being weaponized against black Americans by some of these white ppl😬😬😬
I'm just gonna be random and just mentioned that the term of, "cultures are meant to be shared", is weird to me. Sharing conveys that there should be consent, no? With that said, it should be worded as something such as, "it's nice for cultures to be shared". The original seemingly condones the taking of something without respecting it or it's people. Or gaslighting one to feel guilty for not carlessly sharing...
Because debates like these often involve external exchanges of internalization, I find it important to emphasize the value of empathy and understanding. People live vastly different lives, but could be rooming right next to each other. Battle your frame of mind, challenge your ways of thinking, expand your point of view. Without making space to discussed nuanced topics like this, who would be interested in entertaining another's comment vs. making the comment. Insults aren't a necessity, challenges are. There is peace to be found in acceptance, and there is acceptance to be found in self love. But what you can't see, you can't internalize. The media (amongst many other things) has put so much hatred, division, and confusion in the face of our communities. Because in a country like America, the dollar is what makes the effort and nothing's more profitable than capitalizing off of humanity. I can't blame people for not knowing, education and empowerment are tools to make a better life for yourself. But I do condemn ignorance, even if I myself become ignorant, it means my ego got too big and I need to practice humility. I hope videos like these continue to inspire more discussions, that provide a number of different perspectives, loved it!
I feel like her delivery was fine. Everyone is so sensitive these days. She was keeping it very mild and nice if you ask me. So many women are walking around here in denial about their disdain for their hair and walk around looking like literal freaks with these lace wigs that look horrific like something out a horror movie with the lace wigs. And even when you try and say that in a nice way you are met with the defensive denial talking points. So if she wants to talk about it that way I think it’s fine.if you feel offended then don’t listen and keep walking around looking like a freak. That’s just how I feel.
No, I love her delivery. Wig warriors can be very condescending and rude, it’s clear she has been insulted by them before.
Lauren, Essie needs to learn the art of not giving pomad. the girl said it like it is . those that are salty "hit dog will holla"
exactly there's nothing wrong with her tone. Wig warriors always speak ill of natural hair.
Babe, why does one have to be forced to wear the hair that grows out of their scalp? How can a person be “forced” or “coerced” to do what their hair does naturally? People are born natural, what do you “everyone should go natural in their own time?”, they were born that way. Idk why a person has to be convinced to wear the hair that grows out of their head. People had to be coerced to NOT wear their real hair for so long that people get offended when they say your real hair is better 😂
It’s disingenuous to compare lipstick to gluing someone else’s hair onto your forehead. Like come on 😂 And why can’t people wear wigs that match their real hair texture?
Or even the straightened version of their like like a kinky straight or something close 😞
She sounds more insecure then the frontal wearer because if you have to attack someone looks, intelligence, character just in general to try and make a point you automatically lose and your point is invalid
she is not attacking . weaves are ok , but when you are gluing and you get a compliment from a WW and you don't know whether it is shade or she legit doesn't know. ad extensions that is fine but don't wear a whole poney
@ her “passionate” speech if you want call it that did come off aggressive and very directive like why does it bother you being natural of someone wearing a lace front it give unnecessary mean girl
Okay but what about hair loss?!?? Why aren't people leaving grace for women who literally are balding due to the stress we have to deal with in life AND ALSO colonised hair care that cause people to train us to damage our hair as children. In my case, a racist person who wasn't trained to do 4c hair burned me so badly my hair scalp never recovered. Hair often doesn't grow back. What is this shaming and blaming going on?
Why do people bring this up?! Of course NO INE IS TALKING ABOUT PEOPLE WHO NEED THESE TYPES OF WIGS. It’s the people who actually have hair they are hiding while trying to portray that this wig install is growing from their scalp. And, a lot of the installs are contributing to alopecia and balding.
I love my natural hair, but I will use wigs (glueless because I love my natural baby hair) for when I want to add color (I don't want to damage mine), or recently I plan to retain length using Chebe the original way and use a natural wig as a variety option to my turban. However, I usually wear my natural hair and feel most confident in it. Her delivery was terrible. Not everyone that wears a wig doesn't love their natural hair. Thank you for your commentary!
Jennie, she talking to the chronic weavelettes , not the casual wearers.
This is a great conversation
it needed to be had
I'll just drop my two cents: As someone with AA (Alopecia Areata), i've recently started experimenting with pop on wigs and lace fronts to gain some confidence back after so much hair shed. I had pretty much a full head of hair three months ago, and wash n gos and mini twists were my favorite styles. I was growing my hair out with these styles and was on my way to achieving bra strap length until...AA hit me like a truck. I know lace fronts don't look real, but right now, I don't know how else to cope. I'm hoping I can have some growth by spring or summer. In the meantime, I'm trying to put the least amount of stress on my hair as possible.
@@LoveHumble24 i genuinely wish you all the best. Hair loss can be frustrating (been through that...not AA actually tho)
Thank you for sharing this!!! I truly understand your frustration and im so tired of this mean girl culture within the natural hair community. My natural hair was down my back until I had a horrible allergic reaction to braiding hair. Within several hours, my scalp was on fire and scarring. I was in agony! I took the hair out immediately and went to urgent care and dermatologist, diagnosed with allergic contact dermatitis, prescribed pain medication and topical steroid. About 25% of the hair in the rear of my head is GONE bc of this crap! This occurred in July 2024 and thankfully it’s finally starting to grow but my scalp still aches from time to time. This completely derailed my natural hair growth so im starting over. Until it’s what I WANT, glueless yaki color wigs, it will be for now. I wish you well on your hair journey and don’t let anyone deter YOUR path.
@skindippedingold Thank you so much for sharing your story as well. ❤️ I'm so sorry that happened to you, but I'm glad you're on the road to recovery. What I wish people would realize is that this wigs vs. natural hair argument is not as black and white as people think, just like many other issues within the black community. Some seem to forget that others wear wigs not because they want to, but because they feel they have no other choice. I'm not choosing to wear them bc I hate my natural texture (I LOVE my curls). I'm wearing them because my kitchen area is nonexistent. 💀 As for those who wear wigs bc they may not like their hair texture, you really just have to be uplifting and encouraging at that point. Attacking someone for their own life choices will just make them retreat even more. We, as a whole, just need to be more loving, respectful, and vulnerable with each other.
I like the way you analyze the issue ❤😊
Women who expect everyone to be 'natural' are the kind who would force women into a burka next. People wear their hair in unique ways to have a personal identity, so that people can tell who they are in a crowd. There is nothing wrong with shining as an individual, but it is a sickness when people are so jealous that they want to take that away from everyone.
You missed the point of the video. She was not comparing frontal and natural hair. She was comparing frontal and every other hairstyle. What is stupid about a frontal is the fact that you put so much work to make it look like it’s growing from your scalp but we can still see it doesn’t. Al hairstyles are fine, including weaves, braids, etc. frontals are weird. That’s all.
@@ntombisiro i did not miss the point of the video
@ it sounded to me like you were ‘cause you kept mentioning natural hair.
@ntombisiro I'm a natural hair creator and she also preaches natural hair. A person telling you to grow your hair and edges,so you don't have to lay fake frontals. Or when she insinuated that the texture of a lace frontal does not naturally grow out of your scalp...are you sure you watched the video?
@@natura__essie Okay.
What is she is saying makes sense but no one will like to hear it. It is silly we are the only race that will wear someone else’s hair, but on top of that why do women feel the need to make it look “unclockable” when we all see the grid. I’ve seen the video and the lady wears wigs because she is an actress and people won’t hire her with natural hair. In my opinion her issue is this need to compete on who has the best wig, whose own looks more natural meanwhile you sacrifice your own hair and we all know that you are wearing a wig. So I agree with both of you but I don’t think her method is helpful.
Essie, this is so random, but everytime I see your name, I think "Mu onwem bu Ezi Jehova"😅😁 Love your name and your pretty hair❤
@@lavenderlillies8149 🤣🤣 I know the song,but can't type it in igbo

It’s so ugly :( and it looks like a helmet ! 😭. Never liked it. Tried it one time removed it that same day. Black women have hair blindness. We need to know what looks good and if it doesn’t look natural 9.9 times out of 10 it looks terrible
I call it the hair helmet 😂😂😂
