How many crops totaly friut per a tree? Like 5 years lambhass tree?
@@ozgurturkylmaz3911Thank you for watching🙏 My Lamb Hass tree, the tree is late on fruiting. It took four years before it started fruit. Grey Alder from San Diego. He’s a master garden his Lamb Hass also took four year before it fruits. Lamb Hass It produces fruit once a year. And the tree get really big. Myself I would recommend growing GEM avocado trees. Gem avocado trees fruit much sooner and fruits a lot every year. Easier to manage. Little larger than Hass. Low on alternate bearing. The fruits should be the same or better than Lamb Hass. Don Gilllogly avocado will produce fruits the first year, is a very vigorous grower/producer. Is superior than Lamb Hass. Just for your info. Most avocado trees produce fruits once a year, except for Carmen avocado, depend on where you live ? Carmen might produce fruit twice a year.
@Betty599 i m writing from Turkey , We can t produce gem avocado because of licence problem , so I asked the lambhass avocado
@Betty599 thank you for respond
@@ozgurturkylmaz3911 If you're asking how many fruits on one Lamb Hass five years old tree ??? I cannot answer that. Because every year is different. It is different because of weather and pollination also depends on the size of your trees. I kept my trees on the smaller size so it's easier to pick the fruits and will not block my view from inside my house. Carmen Hass, Gwen, Pinkerton, is consider excellent avocados. It should produce fruits the first or second years. It is depend on the size trees you are planting.
@@Betty599 is that possible to contackt Grey Alder?
My husband too is happy that I'm addicted to plants and not designer handbags. Too funny! Happy shopping! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for watching🙏
I notice you have your helper build a mound . Above ground then plant your fruit trees . Is there a reason you planted it this way ?
@@dellazaro6696 Thank you for watching🙏 we have calcarious clay soil. You have to mix with 50% sand with native soil and gypsum so avocado and sub tropical trees could survive. Planting avocado on clay soil your trees will die. If the tree doesn’t die, it will stunt the growth of the trees once the roots reaches the clay soil. Plus planting above ground help drainage because eventually the soil/mound will settle. Stone fruits could handle clay soil, but not subtropical fruit tree like avocados. Most avocado farms in Morro Bay, Cayucos. They planted on a very large mound, including San Luis Obispo. Unless you have Sandy soil, then you don’t need to mix sand or planted on a mound. But if you have clay soil, this is a must for avocado and mangoes or any other sub tropical trees.
I want to know what does this family do for a living to afford this land.
@@briankinney2295 thank you for watching 🙏 the question is not appropriate.
I just ate a Don Gillogly early and i thought it was very good. Thanks for sharing!
@@AvocadoTalk Thank you for watching 🙏 I’m glad you think so. I feel the same way for premature Don Gillogly. I have a feeling it’s gonna be better than Hass once it’s mature.
Central has Hernandez Nursery in Fresno with several avocado varieties.
Thank you for watching and the info.
Glad you were able to savage those premature fruits Betty!
Thx, wow is early, before season and yet good to eat.
Thank you for watching 🙏 yes, I was surprised the fruit drops from the last storm and was premature and is eatable. It was great that I was able to taste Lamb Hass and Don Gillogly side by side. At the moment we prefer Don Gillogly over Lamb Hass. Will be interesting to see what is taste like when the fruit is fully mature and our preference would be? Will let you know this coming summer.
Thanks for comparison, I also have a young Lamb and Don Gillogly and looking forward to future harvesting from theses varieties. I’m considering a second Don Gillogly because they are so unique and have excellent tasting reviews👍
Thanks for watching🙏 not sure how old your Lamb Hass is ? My Lamb Hass took four years before it fruits. Same as Greg Alder from San Diego his Lamb Hass took four years before it fruits. Don Gillogly will fruit the first year. The tree will continue to grow with fruits on there. Just for your info. Other varieties of avocado if you keep too much fruit on there, it will stunt the grow of the tree. But not Don Gillogly. You will be happy with Don Gillogly. The flavor is better than Lamb Hass.
Awesome! Thanks. Sounds like you need an extension pole fruit picker.
@@Pay-It_Forward Thank you for watching 🙏 at the moment my tree is only 5 feet tall but Yuzu citrus is extremely thorny. I just have to be extra careful. The interesting about Yuzu citrus it has a very tropical scents. Not like other citrus.
@@Betty599 Potassium tends to increase seed count & thorn length. Gypsum should counteract the thorn & seed effect a little, while increasing the aromas.
@@Pay-It_Forward thank you for the advice. I just picked up 300 pound of gypsum the other day. Will be adding lots of gypsum to all my fruit trees also to prevent root rot.

I love that you have some Chilean wine palms there..those are pretty rare to see
@@colintt5459Thank you for watching🙏. The palm tree was here when we purchased the property. I have no idea the name of the palm trees, now I know the name.😁
The papayas will not survive with out protection from rain 🌧️ They get root rot too easily. They need a raised planter with lots of sand and rock around the rot ball. Definitely use 100% sand perlite rock blend to keep the trunk dry and healthy. Even with frost free winter the cool wet soils give the papaya root fungal infection. A roof over the tree is required for successful papaya
@@nicolassaarni88 Thank you for watching and thank you for the advice. I will take that into consideration. I planted on a mound with 50% sand, but probably not enough. Maybe in the spring. I could plant it in pure sand on new papaya trees. Merry Christmas and happy new year.🎊
I have many years of success with papaya Mostly dwarf golden Thailand variety. It stays short and every tree is female and bears many fruit at shorty size. I keep them growing in an unheated greenhouse exclusively for rain protection as I never close the sides at all. and in raised planter bed with 100% sand and lava rock.
@Thank you for all of the advice 🙏I love papaya, especially Hawaiian papaya, strawberry, or solo papaya. I am limited on where I could get my papaya trees . What city are you in? What is your growing zone? I would built a temporary structure for the winter to protect my papaya trees, I will built. I will have to look it up Thai golden papaya. I’m heading down to Southern California to some of the nursery after the holidays. if they have it available I will pick it up. Merry Christmas and happy new year to you.🍷
Thank you so much for sharing. I am also avocado lovers and I will go next weekend.
@@sandartun1925 thank you for watching🙏 they have more selection. You could look up on their website the list of all of the varieties that they have. The quality is much better than local nursery or Home Depot, Lowe’s. The root stock is far better than most nursery. They sell to commercial farm while I was there. I see a lot of commercial farmers purchased trees from them and their price is better. You could also ask Tino to bring more avocado trees from other lot.
🌺 "In every gardener, there is a child who believes in the seed’s magic." 🌱
@@TheOrionOracle Thank you for watching🙏There’s nothing wrong with planting seed. But especially avocado seed you have to wait minimum 10-20 years to get avocado tree to fruit. Plus avocado seed does not grow true to fruit/seed. You could look it up. I agree growing seed is much cheaper but I do not want to wait 10-20 years to see my trees fruits. I want my trees to produce fruit within one-two years. I am also grafting my own avocado trees. That is the only reason I plant seeds is for grafting.
@@Betty599 Thanks for sharing your insights! 🌱 You are absolutely right about the time it takes for avocado seeds to bear fruit and the benefits of grafting. It's great to hear you are exploring that method for quicker results. I would love to hear more about your gardening journey, so let’s stay connected! Happy gardening! 🌿

Rich, Thanks for watching. I am hoping by the time the fruit is mature. I will still have fruits left on the tree. That won’t be until this coming summer.
Hass is grown in California
Thanks for watching 🙏I am growing the avocado trees in Paso Robles Ca. Zone 8b/9a . Every local nursery tells me I cannot grow avocado in Paso Robles. I proved them wrong. My trees is producing fruits. My RUclips video proof that you could grow avocados in Paso Robles. I encourage the public to grow them, but you do need to mix 50 % sand, gypsum and planted on a mound. That’s the best way for the tree to survive.

That's a lot of Fuyu to still be on the tree. Nobody likes Fuyu? I prefer Saijo, which is similar to the Hachiya persimmon, yet ripens a month earlier.
Thank you for watching. All of my friends and family love Fuyu. They preferred Fuyu over Hachiya. I have 11 Fuyu trees plus two other varieties of persimmon planted throughout the yard.
@@Betty599 I have had some mostly fully ripe Fuyu Gaki with seeds from Sprouts which were decent. But Fuyu Jiro seems to always be picked very hard, under mature & rather bland on flavor intensity & complexity. I'm wondering how much there flavor intensity increases by late fall? or do they stay mild?
@ most of the store FUYU picked them way too early. Home grown are far better. It is very sweet, full of flavor. You could eat it firm or soft or semi soft. It hangs on a tree very long, at least three months.
@FUYU persimmon trees produce tons of fruit every year consistently. Beautiful to look at also taste really good.
@@Betty599 I know that I love lots of different persimmons. Just never had anything better than ordinary from any of the many different Fuyu cultivars.. But were all commercial from a store. So kinda comparing a store Fuyu to a home grown Saijo & Prok. American persimmons like (Prok, Yates, Claypool, H-63a Paradise, Lehman's Delight, Goliath) are awesomely intense, but must be let to fully ripen. Prok & Yates can be eaten firm, if fully orange. All these ripen Early to mid October. Hachiya doesn't really ripen until late November. But I suspect that your environment might be slightly too hot & dry for these cultivars.
If you add Asimina triloba Pawpaw: plant trees 7ft apart in (East/West) rows so they shade each other in summer & have maximum sun in (Spring & Fall). Soil Sulfur levels & sun on branches in fall determine the number of pre-blossom buds for the next year. They would need summer shade UV Light protection for the first 5 years in Paso Robles, as they are an Appalachian Mountains forest under story tree sensitive to UV Light. They can thrive at 116F even if humidity is low, if they have UV Light protection. But they prefer humidity! Fruit tastes like a cross between (Nam Dok Mai/Gros Michel Banana/Fino de Jete Cherimoya/Bubble Gum)
Thank you for the recommendation on Pawpaw. I been reading up on Pawpaw. There are lots of varieties of pawpaw. What is the best variety??? I have never taste of pawpaw. It takes a long time for the tree to fruits. Does pawpaw ripe all at once ? Trying to decide if I want to plant pawpaw trees ? Pawpaw need two varieties to crossed pollinate.
what are the boars eating from the tree?
Thank you for watching. Boars eating earthworms/grubs. Because all the wood chips and leaves it create home for earthworms. That is why the boars likes to root the base of the trees.
Giant rolling hills of grape vineyard the neighbors? or yours? If yours what do you have?
Thank you for watching. We own 200 acres. 26 acres of wine grapes. Cabernet, Cab Franc, Petit Verdot. We sell it to Daou Winery and Booker winery. Our grapes go to their top of the line bottles.
@@Betty599 Do you know of anyone who is taking advantage of the Plavac Mali, which UC Davis Ag Extension has been propagating for 10 years? It's a Zinfandel hybrid crossed with Dobričić which is similar to Petit Verdot. Unlike Zinfandel, Plavac Mali is extremely heat & drought tolerant. UC Davis Ag Extension is hoping that Plavac Mali & Plavac Mali Gris, will be thriving new cultivars to the California wine industry.
I would recommend PawPaw Asimina triloba. Cultivars: (KSU Chappell, Allegheny, Maria's Joy, Regulus, Siri-Gold Vishnu)
