Im in north central Florida and grow all my own vegetables and enjoy it plus i have planted 5 avocado trees Hass, Betta, oro negro, sommons and a Choquette will be excited to get my fist fruit when it allows. Hope next spring 🥑 Great video ty.
Thank you for watching 🙏 That is great to hear. I am also hoping next year besides my Choquette, my Oro Negro will hold the fruit next year. But in the meantime I will continue to order Florida avocado to try.
I've tried west Indian avocado and they are definitely watery and bland. I prefer the California Mexican ones they are richer tasting. But that is an excellent looking looks delicious
Thank you for watching. Subscribe to my channel. I will have more review of Florida avocado varieties as they become available and ship it to me. Most California avocados are excellent in flavor. I did had one Florida avocado from earlier box that it had no flavor and I think that avocado was still too early to be picked. Because the rest of the other avocados in the same box same variety was excellent in flavor. Just make sure whatever avocado that you're tasting is mature. Just like any other fruits. If the fruits picked too early it will have no flavors and I agree not all avocado tastes excellent in flavor.
@@xrsjohnm I also have Oro Negro & Super Hass/Oh La La avocado variety. No poncho. Planted last year. Will see if my Oro Negro produce fruit next year ?🤞 I will order Oro Negro to taste when is available. Lots of nursery in Florida say Oro Negro is shy on bearing fruits😬. In time I will know if my trees will bear fruits or not? If it doesn't bear fruit in Paso Robles zone 8b/9a ? I will top work the trees and graft other varieties to it. I am also give one more year to my Sir Price avocado trees if it doesn't produce fruits next year ? I will top work the tree to other varieties.
I also have a florida day in ground but it has done nothing for 2 yrs, I have a 1/5 acre nothing like yours the avocados love to have a lot of space to grow, I also have sir prize I bought 24 inch box , planted already, it has 8 large avocados on it, one person told me sir prize was the best avocado for taste he's ever tasted
@@xrsjohnm This year was the first year my Sir Prize produce one large fruit. The rest dropped. I have started to graft other varieties of avocado cutting to the Sir Price in the front yard. Will top work the one in the back yard next year if the tree doesn't produce fruits. Sir Price consider excellent in flavor, with low oxidation. That is why I planted two trees. I also planted a new avocado variety Booth 7 this past week. I've also preorder 2 Apmay avocado trees waiting for Lara Farm Miami to ship to me in the spring of next year. That is the newest/latest discover in Florida, super large fruits with excellent flavor, heavy producer.
Thank you for watching🙏 It was 29 degrees. No burn on my young newly planted newly grafted avocado trees. Last year we had snow that lasted for three days. All of my newly planted avocado trees survived snow without protection without burn on my property. Watch previous video of avocados survived snow Feb- 2023 Paso Robles Ca.
Thank you for watching🙏

When you had the cold snap recently what were the low temperatures that hit your young avocados?
