If your'e too young to remember these but like this stuff, you are at the start of an incredible journey of discovery. Syd Barrett's Pink Floyd, Jeff Beck's and Jimmy Page's Yardbirds and Cream come to mind and though less forgotten, were far more important. And there are many, many more. Them, Animals, Lovin' Spoonful....

I would not call Black Sabbath, The Byrds, Kraftwerk, or Velvet Underground forgotten... The rest would probably apply to the average listener as "forgotten..." I like that you included King Crimson, Blue Cheer, and MC5!

Dexies Midnight Runners album was really good. I liked a lot of songs on there better than the hit.

Robert Mitchum was brilliant in this, as was a very young Shelly Winters, and Lillian Gish. The child actors were amazing in it as well. This is my favorite American Gothic film.

Most of these bands are FAR from forgotten.

I have never before commented on a youtube post but I must here. I must inform that the Hollies are still going. They didn't disappear into the shadows. They may not have reached the well-deserved heights of other bands, but they produced albums in the 70s and still perform concerts, despite personnel changes. I, as a Hollies fan, must advise you of this.

I listen to all of these bands and songs everyday on Sirius XM radio. On the Sixties channel. I believe that these 60's songs will never become irrelevant and forgotten. These bands created some of the best music in our era. We probably won't hear music this good being made anytime soon. I love these oldies but goodies. ♥️♥️♥️

Not necessarily forgotten, also some continued to tour (or at least parts of them toured) for decades. They just played smaller venue's, like state fairs or local music venue's. I've seen iterations of Paul Revere and the Hollies in concert in the 1990's. The Yardbirds lead guitarists spun off into even bigger groups - Jimmy Page went on to cofound Led Zeppelin of course. Yardbirds were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1992, hardly sounds like they were forgotten. But at least this post in bringing back some attention to these beloved bands.

Wow, this remake still gets so much wrong. Still misprounouncing the name of the Breau Brummels; still failing to mention The Association's "Never My Love" which for decades was the most played song and apparently unaware that The Association was one of the first rock groups to perform an actual "show" rather than just singing songs. It is a disappointment to those of us who lived through this era are not consulted when folks assemble these compilations.

Was this narration AI generated? The narrator badly misprounced the Beau Brummels. And why would they not mention The Association's "Never My Love" which for decades was the most played song (I personally can't stand the song, but obviously plenty of people loved it)? Actually, overall this is a solid list, but the narration about each group was amatuerish and rather ignorant. Heck, surely the narrator should have mentioned that the two leads of The Turtles joined Frank Zappa's Mothers of Invention and later became the duo the Flo & Eddie.

The Hollies made a whole pile of great hit singles. Not one great album and that's why they are below the radar. Graham Nash is still a superstar.

Dexy's had several big tunes Geno, Jackie Wilson Said and Celtic Soul Brothers is excellent. Kevin Rowland is a prolific songwriter - maybe Eileen was a one hit wonder in the US, as they were a very Anglo Irish sounding band
