VD ( venereal disease) is for Everybody (1969) Video enhanced with digital processing

The American Social Health Association was always experimenting with new ways to educate the public about venereal disease. They helped produce the first VD education film, "Fit to Fight", in 1918 in order to educate soldiers being shipped abroad to fight in the first World War. Although this popular TV public service announcement informs the public that everybody is susceptible to venereal dis...

Anti-Bra Protest in Downtown San Francisco / 1969
I was expecting the voice for 20-something-year-old. Talking like they lived decades ago.
The end of healthy food. I can’t imagine eating any of this stuff today! Omg freeze dried instant baby food. Ug
The beginning of our downfall
Oh I do remember toast’em animals. I think my family cooked food and we didn’t buy many pre packaged food products.
I’m in my 60’s but I don’t remember these products. Or the commercials.
01:43 B A D is spelled out in the bowl.
We got our first TV 1956. I have only seen about 1/3 of these ads. Very little of these products did we buy. Where is that "open wide for Chunky ad ?
5 children and a flat stomach. Impressive.
Sugar Smacks
The reason Grape nuts helps you stay slim is because it clears you out from all the fiber
Same junk, just different marketing.
And so began the country to fall headlong into insulin resistance (type 2 diabetes) and pre-diabetes.
Exactly!
I eat Grape Nuts most mornings.
Maybe Kennedy with Trump’s support things in food production will change for the better🤞🏻
Canned food with tons of salt 🤮
Txtin 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Still not the best, but before they added, titanium, aluminum, ethylene glycol, propylene glycol, ammonia, sucralose, aspartame, high fructose corn syrup, numerous dyes, etc, etc,
8:50 kinda kinky 😅
Hot shots were easy to choke on. I should know.
rofl...nice to see commercials were the same stupid schlock back in the day as now
Glad to see the women are right where they’re supposed to be in the kitchen cooking and cleaning and doing the majority of child care. And looking mighty nice doing it.
Yes and if you knew anything about the time period you'd also know that women worked just the same. And weren't walking around the house in circle skirts.
I ate sugar smacks, sugar pops, sugar-frosted flakes,, ding dongs, twinkies, RC Cola, and potato chips from a company before Lay's. I'm 77 and eat all flavors of potato chips, taco chips, and Ritz crackers. I'm a junk food junkie.
COME ON MAN lived those days the thing that came with modernization SUGAR it exploded on the market and started getting added to everything because it was as ADDICTIVE as NICOTINE that and the government made billions on tax and imports
They still sell many similar unhealthy foods, eg. sugar-loaded cereals!
And they wonder why people are overweight in America and kids are hyper... the addition of SUGAR
All poison.
I love there is always an uneaten ham in Hollywood fridges. I never recall having a whole ham in the fridge growing up, lol.
You could buy a week groceries for $35.
yeah but made a BUCK A DAY
@@Alfred.E.Newman $35 is a lot of money, however you made 1.00 an hour in 1950 (1950 not 1959 mind you, very big difference comparing the early 1950s to the late 1950s) NOT a buck a day. I'd make $8 in a day, and a cheaper priced, high quality dress, would be $3.36 or so. High paying jobs would be $2.50 - 3.50 an hour. Make around 1,500 to 4,000 in a year. Afford a new home within 2 at the base prices, not counting essentials like monthly costs or sudden financial problems to attend to.
A high quality dress today would be $7 - $20. A high quality outfit today that isn't a name recognized brand would have a outfit combination for $60 - $80, whereas in 1950 a expensive business suit w/ skirt, a mink overlay shaw, broach & matching shoes from goldcross or what have you would total at $50.00, or approximately $600.00 in adjusted inflation. That's real high quality clothing. Now compare that to Gucci, 5 items? Heavens, you can expect a pretty penny to pay for that. Cheap at $7,000 in total?
Or less
Commercials haven't changed, still lying.
Where's the lie? I'd hate to take you for a distrust in authority person.
@@WitchKing-Of-Angmar Presenting poor products as good food is a consistent lie of commericals.
@@greendeane1 I don't see you eating food in 1955 to have any admission.
@@WitchKing-Of-Angmar I was eating such garbage in 1950.
Such garbage
Freeze dried baby food should be made now
This is how media/adverts brain wash you and don't even realise it and it is still going strong today.
Tell A vision
Love how the cereal bowl always gets full when in reality, a serving size is probably no more than half a cup
Find an OLD container, and look at the "INGREDIENTS "! Then look at the "INGREDIENTS " of the same product of today! An if your Really interested COMPARE the Products that are sent to the EU, and the US! We need a FDA that is looking after "WE THE PEOPLE "!
You'll be lucky if we have an FDA at the end of the next four years. If you put an extremely greedy, not very bright person in charge of a country do not be surprised at the results.
That's why we are lucky enough to have Trump running things. HAPPY NEW YEAR 2025
Robert KENNEDY, jr
And those ingredients in the “old” weren’t bioengineered!
So basically this is where it all started by the process food industry to turn us into a bunch of fat slobs full of diseases that have created the health crisis we have today
Actually Decades or so Earlier, with WHITE BREAD! Was one of the big push. Which caused a Large Increase in Hart attacks. An ALL of the breads made today are all the same. Even if they say WHOLE GRAIN they are Not!
@jessemills3845 your right. Whole grain is destroyed of nutrients after they process it
We all have known better for a long time now. No excuses anymore for not eating healthy and exercising.
Carbs, calorie-counting, sugar... and "cereal protein"?? This is when the lying started, and we're still paying for it.
It's a SNOWBALL effect! But look at a Product in the US, then look at the SAME Product sold in the EU. SAME BRAND SAME PRODUCT, look at the INGREDIENTS! US is twice as long in additives, multiple sources of Sugars, Corn syrup and more! All this Increased with DEMS AND RINOS that have Major Stocks in these companies! FDA Needs a MAJOR REVISION! Our food supply has been Compromised ESPECIALLY since the 1970s! Now (Thanks to OBAMA BIDEN HARRIS ESPECIALLY) in the last 4 years (due to govt pressure) the VAST MAJORITY of the FOOD SUPPLY COMPANIES that were US Owned have SOLD OUT! MOSTLY to CHINA! Which BIDEN HARRIS PELOSI SCHUMER had a hand in selling to CHINA! Guess it "PAYS" to "DONATE " to the DNC and Certain High POLITICIANS!
I. liked grape nuts but I also dumped a whole bunch of sugar over the top, plus a banana
It was rare to see a fat kids..back then. So they were doing something right.
We were Outside running and playing and doing chores! No Video Games back then!
Bologna. Where did you get that idea from?
@@jessemills3845Exactly!
@@jessemills3845 bingo ELECTRONICS and ease of thing today HELPED CREATE the OBESE scale
People were not fat back then. My grandmother was a heavy set lady but she was only about 20/25 pounds overweight. Not 70 or 100.

@@Alfred.E.Newman 🥺Well that’s business I suppose but still.
And we’ve been gaining weight ever since.
And the poison begins. Sugar in everything
We didn't have any fast food then. Imagine that. I don't ever remember eating anything after dinner but I do remember playing outside till dark-- in any kind of weather. I loved the package of little boxes of cereal. Miss.
Plenty of fast food in the 1960s near Chicago.
@MyButtercup Who knew? I didn't but am sure you did.
Try to find Imogene Coca's Prince Spaghetti commercial from early 60's. She sings "Busy Women Love Prince"
Seems like this created more disposable packaging for the garbage and increased added sugars and fat to the American diet…unhealthy consequences for future generations. 😢
Women stayed in the kitchen in a apron 😮
The laundry room too.
HAD BRAINS and COMMON SENSE to
From 1970-on, once I entered Kindergarten, both my parents worked 40 hours a week and we all made dinner from scratch together when they got home. We had to make sure our homework was done before our parents got home. There were some exceptions if we had after school activities/sports. In the evenings and on weekends we all worked in our garden, did yardwork and did all the chores before we could go play with friends.
One thing the old ads did was promote the product, unlike today's ads that promote everything except the product.
Thinking about everyone makes me wonder why we don't ever try and work for a better future, with our shared sins. None of you deserve that. I'll always love each and every one of you
I remember watching EF Hutton commercials during 60 Minutes in the 70s. The commercials were as interesting as the program during those times.
Don’t remember any of these commercials. Grew up in the 50s and 60s.
Maybe you were outside playing cowboys and Indians till dark. 😅
I remember when bottle milk was delivered
