I was 16 in 1976, I remember all of these commercials😊 I started high school, the 10th grade in the fall. Over the summer we went on a family trip to Niagara Falls Ontario and then to Toronto. I remember watching the Olympics, and seeing Nadia score a perfect 10! Everything was red white and blue because of the country’s bicentennial.
Having somewhat absentee parents, I was basically raised by the television. So all these commercials are familiar to me, first seen when I was 5 years old. Commercials just hit different back in 1976. Everything didn't have to be so edgy, meta and mean-spirited.
It makes me chuckle to see the KoolAid commercial. I hadn't seen it in decades. I wish I could find the 1976 commercial for Fords. It went, "New, new, new, new, your Ford dealer's got it for you...the 77s are something to see, they're what you want your car to be, yeah!" I suspect that it's tied up in copyright drama.
These 1976 spots feature: Don Morrow speaks for Ford. The Kool-Aid man brings Kool-Aid to two children at a roller rink. Morris the Cat gets finicky during a daytime drama. Brother Dominic learns how to use a Xerox. Stu Bergman speaks for Schlitz. Jack Nicklaus shills the American Express card.

As to the Bicentennial Coke ad: African Americans did, in fact did fight in the Revolutionary Army against Big Bad King George. I believe George Washington, who owned slaves, promised freedom to African Americans who did fight with him. Did he keep his promise? I do not know...
I was laughing at Kool commercial video, no one was concerned about the property damage he caused bursting through walls they only wanted that drink 😂😂😂

Me too!

And we didnt use stupid sayings like “hits different”
Bicentennial commercials. 1976. I remember this!
American Express card "Don't leave home with out it" Now I can't afford to leave home!
It makes me chuckle to see the KoolAid commercial. I hadn't seen it in decades.

I remember Farrah Fawcett Shampoo. Being a 70s kid, my mom worked..so long hours spent at home alone..I remember all of these. Thanks so much!
So you were a leech kid so was I.
Gamer likes retro, my forever favorite channel! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
😘
Farrah Fawcett, iconic.
ah...the year i graduated high school....kool!
I almost forgot that 1976; was the bicentennial year
I was just mentioning how I missed the original way 7-Up used to taste compared to now!
Sugar vs corn syrup
See if you can find the Mexican version. They still use real sugar.
7up is the only soft drink I can stand to drink.
10 teaspoons of sugar in every can.
Oh well, aren't you just so special.
Sugar is real and won't kill you! High fructose corn syrup is fake and kills everyday.
Miss those days...
Bicentennial commercials❤️❤️
Wow!!! Can we go back???
I actually remember seeing most of these. I leave it to you to determine if that's good or bad.

I must be in the front row......
He missed a tag!!!!!!
Wonderful
John Lee Erwin did the voice of Morris the cat.

Does anyone have Trident Trixie? (Beverley Sigsworth)
look how thick the pattie on that buger is
Fardhu Fawcett deserved more respect and Morris was ahead of his time.
Fardhu??? It was Farah. Where'd you come up with that???
@@hermanator74301 Ditto - where'd that come from?
@@hermanator74301 *Farrah
You disrespected her by misspelling her name.

Did the Ford Maverick make it to California all the way from New York City? 😁😁😁😁
I first say lovely bra commercials on tv around this year. They really used to make my day.
If herbs is "Erbs" why isn't hair "Air"?
In that same year they showed a live model advertising a bra for.the first time on British tv.
I was laughing at Kool commercial video, no one was concerned about the property damage he caused bursting through walls they only wanted that drink 😂😂😂
What about the damage it did to you the chemicals in it.
@@RodgerMudd Kids don't worry about that lol
*Kool-aid
😆
Never see the 7-up UN_Deer a goofy mascot promoting 7-up at Christmas
Could you dispense with the fake TV and just show the commercials? This isn't Xzibit's Yo Dawg.
Nothing wrong with the TV set border, adds to the effect.
Post your own video.. without the tv
I like the old tv, that’s the way we watched tv back then, you had to have been there …
Just try That! With a cola nut....Ha. Ha. Ha!!!!!! 7-UP
These commercials were not rare
