    Dude, this will create wrinkles. Why do you guys keep saying this. You can't fold clothes without wrinkles unless it's denim or something thick. The only way is to keep them flat with minimal folds or to roll them.

    • @AlexMDorr
      @AlexMDorr 2 месяца назад

      Appreciate the comment and typically agree with you. However, I travel with Mizzen and Main shirts and they don't wrinkle in this manner. You can also turn on the shower at the hotel with hot water and hang the shirt for 5 minutes or show close to the steam and you are good to go. This is more of an American approach I will acknowledge as my wife from Europe always says, "You can't waist that much water getting wrinkles out of your shirt!" All the best to you. Safe, wrinkle-free, travels!

    I think the second step should be what would these desired outcomes look like? Then ask what would you be willing to do to get them? Another factor is how do change from the old habits to the new initiatives? That's where James Clear Atomic Habits comes in.

    • @AlexMDorr
      @AlexMDorr Год назад

      Love that additional step to add to clarify. In organizations, many times this is laid out pretty clearly as far as metrics, goals and numbers that need to be hit. But where it is ambiguous or unclear - that would be an awesome reflection for the person to write out or articulate. I agree. Then moving to the next step would bring in shared accountability for that. Love James Clear's content and tools and they would complement nicely our work. As you can suspect, we have our own tools, techniques and 'habits' we teach in our training and workshops that can get you there as well! Just can't fit all in one video haha Thanks for the awesome addition and helping to ever-evolve these tools to be more useful :)

    • @AlexMDorr
      @AlexMDorr Год назад

      That's exactly what I said in the video. Everyone is invited to be fluent in the 5 source of low-drama competencies - regardless of backround. So everyone is invited. However, there is sometimes a small group that isn't ready for high-accountability, readiness for change, self-reflection and buying in to the decisions of their organization and when they choose to make that choice - I would support them in transitioning to another organization where they can do so. All are welcome to step up, some will choose that this environment isn't for them. Hope that helps clarify!

    Great method. You forgot to pack everything else though (or leave space for it). I'm interested to see how this pans out. I think it'll still get creases, but there will be fewer and they'll be easier to iron out. Thank you for the simple tutorial!

    • @AlexMDorr
      @AlexMDorr Год назад

      Haha that is so true! I typically pack just like this for up to 4 day trips. I stick with one pair of black dress shoes and put running shoes in my backpack. I then pack 4 Mitzen and Main shirts because they are so perfect for not wrinkling. I have it on my list to make a video for a longer trip that I do for work.

    • @AlexMDorr
      @AlexMDorr Год назад

      Forgot to add to this - I only take one pair of dress pants for the 4 days. Keep it simple with black or grey because it matches the one pair of black dress shoes. This is all about efficiencies. The 4 Mitzen and Main shirts never wrinkle so there is some forgiveness there. Then one or two pairs of jeans, one pair of sweats or shorts and then 3 teeshirts. The one long-sleeve or jacket, I drape over the carry-on. Hasn't failed me in 8 years to always travel with the carry-on. Hope this helps anyone looking to travel light and with style!

I am just pointing out the reality that if your company is going to continue to update technology and ask you to use it AND you haven't learned your new phone or devices - your work reality may be tough. This was eye opening for sure!! We are working on disseminating information like this to our supervisors so it starts trickling down to our staff.

      So happy it resonated with you Vanessa! Would love for you to send this mini-lesson around to your teams and start the conversation. I have more videos on my channel for leaders and for starting to learn the tools. You can also get the first tool to put all of this into action at info.realitybasedleadership.com/minute if you are interested. All the best!

    Wow! This was a perfect mini lesson on how to deal with the drama! I am going to have my team listen to this and that will hopefully get them thinking a little bit more about how they are acting (causing the drama). I LOVE the analysis that when we focus on engagement without accountability, we get entitlement - boy do we see that a lot!

      Love that the engagement with accountability point really resonated with you Valerie. Thanks for passing this along to your team. That is exactly why I put it together to be a mini-lesson for teams to watch and discuss. Please let me know how it goes and what comes up as the team reflects. All the best!

    I love these questions: What do I know for sure? What’s my part in this? What is the next thing I can do to add value?

      So glad you pulled those out Sue! They are so simple yet so powerful when you have the idea of the toggle switch and how the mind works behind them. You got this!

    I learned the concept of toggling up "what do I know for sure", and then "what's the next thing I can do to add value".

      Love that Sherry! Just watching how many times we 'toggle down' in small ways at work can create a big shift. It is often 100 times a day - some big toggle downs and some small. Either way you now have the self-reflection questions that can move you and your team to your highest-self quickly to get back on track. Life is good. (and if it isn't, just ask yourself 'what do you know for sure? and what would great look like?) - See you out there!

    Great process to focus on the truly important and not get caught up in all of the drama. Interesting to deliberately focus on the group that you are going to "displease!"

      Thank you Jon! Such a big point that I share in nearly every keynote or training I'm doing that frees up so many leaders. They are often caught in the trap of trying to continually 'please' everyone and it isn't even possible when you think about it from a mindset-of-accountability perspective. Hope that frees you up as well! Keep doing big work out there.

    The segment about enabling hit me pretty hard and gave me a lot to examine with what I do with my team.

    • @AlexMDorr

      Love that you pulled out that point Kat. So much of the work I am doing on accountability is having leaders reflect on where they may be enabling the exact opposite behavior of what they are hoping to create in their team or culture at work. Staying intentional on a few ways we are enabling poor behaviors or responses in our leadership approach can create huge shifts in our team and the level of drama we are experiencing. You got this!
