Tillamook or Banks it just depends on what direction you are coming from. Banks is northwest of it and Tillamook is west towards the coast.

I summitted Mount Thielsen four times between 1988-92. The last 50 feet or so is vertical but wasn't too bad as there were plenty of hand- and foot-holds. Progress is made by actually moving horizontally back and forth and making slow, measured vertical gains-- keeping your center of gravity close to the spire. (None of us had any gear.) The tricky part is finding the correct way up. The route which appears the most promising is actually a dead end, and the fust climber up always had to back straight down. There are several spots on the peak where you can see where lightning has struck. Also, there was a capped pipe that contained messages from previous climbers. You could read them and leave your own, if you thought to being a pad and pen, of course. We only did that on the second, third, and fourth climbs. Lol.

Sorry to say but I think you got screwed on the jacket man :/ the inside material and pockets are way different from a real alpha SV if you look at their website and online. Probably the reason you got it at a "discount" was that it's not authentic. But if it works, it works 🤷‍♂

In case anyone was wondering...this Mount June is in Oregon between Eugene and Oakridge. There are several different trailheads at which you can start this hike and the hike will range from easy to not so easy depending on where you start. Where they started in this video is anyone's guess.

We climbed back in the 80's, climbing the last bit to the top wasn't too bad, we climbed without rope but did a pull down rappel on the way down as it is tougher going down. Like Mt. Washington and Three Fingered Jack you have to watch out for loose rock. We didn't have video back in those days so thanks for sharing!

Used my new Outdoor Vitals pillow on an 11-day trip and learned a couple extra uses; other than the ability to inflate differently for side/back sleeping. I never experienced any air loss during any use. I also used the pillow as a sit-pad (slightly inflate to prevent rolling) and a back rest. I stuffed the deflated pillow in its stuff-bag in my backpack pouch that holds my rain cover for ease of retrieve. Now, my only question for Outdoor Vitals is how to care (cleaning) for the pillow - I couldn’t find anything on their website. Very comfortable and now an essential piece of equipment.

Great review. I have a layering system but looking for an outer shell to help with wind protection. I do have a good layering system. Would this piece with a good layering system be good for windier temps in the low/mid 20’s F to low 30’s? Looks like this piece is “light” but I’m not looking for heavy, looking for an outer shell, my layers insulate me. Thanks!

I have stepped away from RUclips it has been over a year now. I put a ton of effort into my channel for 2 years almost 200 videos. It really became the Job I was not getting paid for since my subscriber level did not take off. This platform is too saturated with the same content and I could not gain any traction. I mostly post on Instagram now same name you can look me up. I may come back and do short videos but will see.

Tumalo falls Is pretty awesome I have done it in the winter as well snowshoeing. I have had some experiences in the woods one was with my daughter and my dog. My daughter saw something and my dog stopped in his tracks and did not chase which is not normal for him and we felt and heard like a heavy something running away it was creepy that’s my only real experience.

Just ordered one of these. The pit zips that run all the way from elbow to hip is brilliant, allow you to wear the lower half of the jacket over the waist belt of the backpack and gives you more ventilation if needed, almost like a poncho. Can't wait to try it out.

I realize this video is 3 yrs old and you may have found the falls by now, but here is my mystical directions to the falls from Marion Lake, I loved your video, great views of the trail. Start here : The trail to Marion Falls (Trail #3436) A little past Lake Ann, you’ll encounter your first trail junction that is marked with a wooden sign. Stay right, towards Marion Outlet Trail #3495. You won’t be on this trail for long, however, because about 200 yards ahead you’ll reach your next trail turn… Keep an eye out for a trail to the right blocked with down trees and branches. This is the trail to use! Continue on this unmaintained trail through a maze of more downed trees (some climbing required) and you’ll soon hear the rumble of the falls below. This unmarked, down tree to the right of the trail. There is a small landing where you can almost see the falls, but the real views are now just a short distance below. You’ll start to descend on the trail quickly and steeply, so take these sections slowly. Make sure to keep three points of contact at all times as you climb down. Marion Falls is first, with Gatch Falls following almost directly after it.

When I was a kid I was down near the base at one of the houses down there in the open fields looking at 3 sisters. We where on our way back from a hike near the sisters as a lightning storm was starting and I saw a lightning bolt hit Butte and set several trees on fire. Got to witness fire fighters jump from a plane(or helicopter? Can't remember) to quickly put out the fire.
