lol I was staying in gympie for a night while passing through to brisbane and a flash flood came. I was stuck there for a whole week, thank god the house had water tanks because the town actually turned off the water supply and electricity for the whole week. I cannot believe I considered settling down there..

The kebab place in the shopping centre is pretty good though. And they have a great bakery if you make it past Centrelink, the courthouse, and the train station without being robbed or stabbed. There's also the frequent flooding which brings the homeless people up into the town centre, so lots of friends to make. Gave a lady directions to the bank, which had relocated, and she called me a c&$#. I think that was a compliment

I love Brisbane! I had lovely neighbours and I miss my way of living. Location is everything! I could use my bike for everything. Each unique neighbourhood was an open museum for me. West End, Valley, New Farm, Milton, South Bank… I miss that, but I am loving Sunshine Coast now! 😊

Same can be said of anywhere. Without money, everywhere is boring and sucks. With money, anywhere can be a dream. I grew up in Collinsville and Bowen, and after almost 30 years away, I find myself missing the place, even though it has changed so much. Been all over Australia and yet to find a place as lovely as North Qld, and Bowen is one of the pearls of Nth QLD. Townsville used to be good too, but its gone to the dogs. Only place I miss more than Bowen is Singapore. That is another gem of a place.

Blame Covid Covid hyper inflated housing during a time when of ultra low interest rates which equated to massive property value speculation. This allowed wannabe Investors to buy up lots of rentals. This glut of cheap rentals enabled the lower class a lot of which which have traditionally have been kept in Brisbanes low socioeconomic suburbs for generations have now suddenly access to the mythical Gold Coast. This influx of White trash and Māori peasants is the problem the GC is now having to deal with which is why it’s getting shit. Covid also caused mass migration from the Southern states bringing along their Muzza and Muzzo related problems as these dumb animals especially with their self entitled attitudes combined with their undeducted and lifestyles have added to the sewer mix us Locals now have to now deal with and the added problem these dumb animals are now breeding. Oh how I wish the RBA just crank up the rates up to 10% plus

I lived in cubulture untill 5 years ago i left due to the person nextdoor constantly having police called due to abuse and such and a man who lived nearby always had 2 hunting dogs outside tied to the mailbox and oneday they got free and attacked my dog and my dad she was bleeding badly we got her to the vet and she lived for 4 more years but the incident scarred my family as after the dogs attacked the owner said "if you have my dogs taken away remember i know where you live" so we left called the police who took the mans dogs away and have been living comfortably in a new area ever since yet my extended family still lives there in conclusion caboolture has been bad way before the housing crisis

My pop and nan lived in Gympie, life was good for them, with the exception of one specific bloke who liked walking up and down their street, staring into houses. The bastard eventually broke in and stole a ring and necklace my mum bought for them. Non could be done because of the special status of his category of people.

For such a long time, I was fixated on visiting Australia, though only three cities really stood out to me: Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth. There don't seem to be much to Brisbane (which in all fairness applies to several cities in America). All I got else to say is it must feel great hosting what might be the last ever Olympics

So as usual in this country... The people are amazingly great despite the dickheads running the joint.

Caboolture has the main street where no one walks or shops..it is deserted most times but clean and pleasant environment with palm trees and street furniture. . Even so, it has expensive acreage blocks out of town where airline pilots live and Centenary park is a real oasis.

it is an old vid.. you can tell by the trains which are now all new ones. The area has Bogans, esp. around the rail station and Sunday markets. But I rather like it although I actually live in the adjoining suburb and have not been robbed in 21 years.
