Problem was we didn't have a place to store them out of the rain so we had a shed built to store the wood. Good work bos 👍👍👍👍
Flip the wood on top of what you're cutting to use as a pattern.
Timelapse recordings would improve the video.
Awesome job 👍
Nice job
Yikes is right
All you did was reinforce the road surface. You did not increase the steel beam capacity nor the structural piers load bearing capacity. Also the capacity of the soil where the piers go into, what's the depths of those piers? The frictional surface area? I want to see the engineers reports of the super structure, not the road deck. Sure you can increase the road deck bearing capacity, but if the super structure was not designed for it, the overall bridge will not be able to handle the "new" weight limits. Also you just increased the dead weight of the bridge by adding the additional road surface decreasing the live weight of the steel beams. Again name the engineering firm that did it, want to give them credit.
All we did was it do exactly what the engineers requested and strengthening the road surface so transport across the bridge could be dispersed more evenly. The steel structures and the cement foundation were in great shape. It was the North Carolina road inspection engineers.
@@twowomenandtoolsandfriends First education. Its reinforced concrete, not cement. Cement is lime sand and water. Concrete is the addition of stone, your weight bearing capacity or better know as aggregate. Second it will be reinforced concrete which adds steel, for strength in tension. Concrete has vary little tensional strength by itself. Ah governmental employees, again lets see the calc's of the steel members. Lets get the size and spans of the members, must have been pretty large to increase weigh by 5x. Those that can't go into government or teach. Again lets see the calculations of the steel members and soils reports and what the original bridge was designed for. I understand reworking the road surface to support more but if the original bridge was not designed for the weight its doomed to fail at some point.
@@JamesKiraly-oz1ncYou're kind of a pedantic ass aren't you?
@@JamesKiraly-oz1nc The channel is called two women and tools and friends. Your comments read very misogynistic, there is no need to try an pull the books on definitions when common vernacular works perfectly fine for a RUclips video. Clearly you, and the rest of us, understood what they meant. I hope you gave their video a thumbs up, but the comments drive traffic anyway. Certainly these fine young women are happy about your support regardless, but being nice would have taken less effort on your part. Remember to smile more and worry less, because what these two women, their tools, and their friends are doing deserves a mountain of respect.
Why the 12' boards over the 8'?? What was the engineers reasoning?? You now have 2' canterlevered over each side, ok for a walk way but not usable for driven traffic. Seems like a waste of money on the 12' when 8' would have accomplished the same thing at 30% cost savings.
The original boards are 12' with added 16 feet boards on top of them. The engineer said it was about continuity and strength. Since 16' was the board length purchased and nothing shorter was avaliable, no need to throw out the extra length. Also we now have a walking space. Vehicles drive in the middle.
🤩

Great progress!
Where y'all at. When we having a bonfire. Georgia here.

I agree!!!
The music in this video is almost criminal. I wanted to jump in the river and drowned so I didn’t have to hear it anymore.
Wow that was nerve wracking to watch, I cant imagine what it was like in person haha. New to your channel, RUclips offered this video up to me this morning. Probably because I am a woman with tools also haha. The algorythm likes you! Following along
I'm so glad to hear that the algorithms of RUclips, like me. Thanks for subscribing that also helps my channel grow. Yes it was very nerve-racking. More for the guy who was keeping the RV than me although I didn't want the structure damage in anyway. I had some guy complain about me not doing any of the work. That is nothing. I am skilled at doing removing RVs. I did my best to help with the knowledge that I had but I'm smart enough to defer what I don't know to those who do know. I hope that comes across in my videos.
It's 'pallet'-
Palette? Or pallet
There's three different ways to spell it take your pic
It's 'pallet'-
All fixed. Thanks for letting me know
Extreme care should be used if working with pallette wood. You never know what has been shipped on the pallette and p[ossibly spilled on it. The dust can possibly be very toxic. I avoid using pallette wood!
Good to know
What should I be looking for
I avoid it altogether. Not worth the risk. @@twowomenandtoolsandfriends
I love what you did wow are you talented!!
Awesome job. Beautiful!!!😊
Thanks!!
❤love what you did to this cabin👍🏻Good job.
Thanks!!! And thanks for subscribing. It helps
Big project ladies. Will be following it.
Please make SURE you don’t build where it can flood! Mountain rivers can be deadly. I’m sure you have already thought of this. Just giving my two cents ✌️
Right, it about 40 feet higher than the river bed. And the house area has several French drains under the foundation thanks to the previous owner.
are you building for others or yourself? Do you own this property? Beautiful site. I have subscribed. As an older woman who built a small studio apartment in her garage and a shed (with much help from another woman builder) I want to support other women who create. Keep us posted.
Hi! Some properties I own with my sister and some we are flipping. Thank you for subscribing. Having subscribers and viewers helps with the Google algorithms. The river property is truly beautiful. We are looking at getting a modular home for it. Hopping to sell the Raw land lot (previous video) that we developed to help pay for the building. I will definitely keep up with the progress via videos. Thanks again!

Love you Lady! Keep the updates coming.
❤ Beautiful video. Loved the music and the bird showing you the way, magical! 💜🏞
Property build on a river? I am so here for that, most definitely. I am 59 and my dream is to find land one day. So glad I found your channel! 💜
Cool, next Friday, I'm showing a preview of that River Property and moving forward with all kinds of things. But as you might know it takes time to develop land, which if you looked in the past, you'll see another property I did develop in all the challenges involved in that. Thanks for subscribing, have a great end of the year and have a great new year
@@twowomenandtoolsandfriends Same to you, Happy Holidays! Will do, gotta start from the beginning. Love seeing progress and especially when doing something you truly love. 😊👍🌻
Good job ladies👍🏻Love the floor
130K for a 1bed 1 bath...oh boy. You both asked great questions. Love the look of the wood walls, makes it feel very cabin like.
Yeah! We like that look too. The exteriors are not as nice but they say they can make a log cabin and even said they can get metal that looks like wood at a place called Trulogs.
We agree!
Great job ladies!!! Looks wonderful!
Thank you! 🤗
Keep up the good work!
Thanks, will do!
Any update on the shed to tiny house??
I've learned a lot and found out that I could use closed cell spray for insulation on the walls to get the r value I need but not sure if that will work on the ceiling. We will be moving forward on that project little by little but right now it's being used for storage. We bought a new property on a river and are planning on building two different places there. Thanks for watching. Check those out. They're coming out soon in bits.
It was like watching my favorite aunts work
Thanks Mark. It's a lot work.
It always gets worse before it gets better. Nicely filmed videos.
Love you guys! Enjoy your videos. Enjoy your mistakes as much as your success. Keep up the good work!
Thanks
Hi guys, this was our first video. What do you think? Do you want to see more videos like this? We got pretty detailed with this one just let me know in the comments love to hear your opinions.
The thing on the roof is called a weathervane. They used to be made of copper and acted as part of a lightening rod system on house or barn roofs.
That's right!!!! Thank you for letting me and the community know!!
I love this!!
I would use it for subflooring. It would not require sanding or removing the nails.
Hmmmmm, it's hardwood, hickory and oak mainly some beautiful wood! Hiding is not in my plan. Plus the work put into reclaiming it would be wasted. But thanks for the idea.
i love this!! Just a question: If you are renovating a shed to be a "she shed" or home office, would the regulations still apply?
I don't believe that I need to meet the regulations if I call it a she shed or a home office and no one is sleeping in it. But for resale, I don't think a bank will loan against it, which puts me in a tough place, if I ever intend on selling. It just won't appraise at all, the bank will only consider it land no matter what I develop on it. So I have to weigh out how much work and expense I put into it versus return for money if I ever sell. That proposition always has to be taken into consideration. I may still do the she shed or home office idea because I love the idea of building out to a usable space. Thank you very much for your input very insightful and gives me an opportunity to respond with other insights.
Let the pallets get rained on, the nails pull out easier
Thanks for showing us a sample of the other Tiny Homes layouts out there. I am constantly astonished how, when I see pictures of USAmerican "Tiny Homes" (apart from being so large compared with "Tiny Homes" from other countries) they so often have a full size 4 burner top kitchen cooker, plus full size refrigerator and full "family size" clothes washer and dryer. Seems to me that a "Tiny Home" intended for one or 2 occupants could easily get by with just a smaller 2 burner cooktop, a compact size Clothes Washer, and a smaller Fridge/Freezer unit. (I've even seen RVs/caravans/travel trailers with dishwashers installed and full size bathtubs. Seems like a waste of precious area and space to me.)
Everyone has different priorities. I'm fine with small but that's just me.
Waiting to see
I would plane it down and make shiplap or cabinets
Hmmm I like the cabinet idea!!!!! I think once I get a bunch of ideas from people I will make a video about it! Thank you for your suggestion.
I use it for shelves & the back cabinets, small cabinets that I make .
Hmmm another cool idea. Thanks!
Hey guys, just came across your channel. Great to see you two doing well and staying busy. I was just flipping thru pics of the tile work in your house in wilmington.
Hi Joe! Living up here in the mountains almost full time. Love it here. Doing well. Glad you touched base.
I have a 12x32 shed convert. Ive been in it almost 5 years now. I have rain water harvesting system and electricity. Semi off grid on five acres. I paid for all i have with what would have been interest money on my home loan. It was rough but paid off for me. Debt free, except for a vehicle...
Awesome. I think if the sheds that I have were more off the beaten path that I could pull off the tiny home conversion without notice. Glad you managed it!
