You can rely on the 925 stamp for SS. For silver, it’s more about the touch, weight,sometimes color. There are a lot of fake silver plated ones. But those are hard and silver and copper are soft.

Use a scrub brush. All plastic to scrub, gets into the cracks and crevices. I use a voltage regulator as a power source, even cheap ones work better than the battery chargers
