I have made several guards, but I have always used brass. Copper is so soft that it easily scratches after it's polished, and brass is a lot harder and holds up better. The upside is you can polish out dings and scratches a bit easier on copper. I've never done aluminum but may try that next.

Dude your are good at what you do but you messed up big time by dying the leather it looks so bad with that dye it would had been waaaaay much better to had left the natural color I give 5 stars for your work and ingenuity but the rest 2 😮

I enjoyed this video, but would have liked some verbal tutorial ~ such as: Is there available a specific tooling pattern?? What are the sizes?? Was that antiquing you painted on and immediately rubbed off ~ if not, what was it?? What weight leather did you use?? It appeared 8-9-10 oz??

Truly amazing. Thinking outside the box and showing the old heads how old they really are! I have a few questions hopefully you have a minute to answer them. I watched this a few times and even took notes. The B822 stamp...Are you sure about that number? I looked all over for it and the only thing I found was a vintage/discontinued stamp that is quite different from the one you have. I was unable to find anything at all for the 888-2 stamp either, would the A102 be an acceptable substitute? What stamp did you use for the texture in the open areas? Looks like a pebble backgrounder of some sort but I'm not sure.
