Hello everyone! Welcome to the Dunnage Garage. Since going off-roading with my Step-dad as a child I have been hooked. Jeeping has provided me not only a passion and hobby, but an outlet from life’s many ups and downs. Matt and I have found countless adventures in the garage and on the tail. Whether the adventure is modifying our Jeeps or a bear helping itself to our cooler, we try to make a weekly video to follow our misadventures. I hope that you enjoy the content, and please "like," "subscribe," and leave a comment. Keep the suggestions and feedback coming.

Boost Trail Mirror Install on a Jeep Gladiator
In this week’s video Matt and I installed the new Trail Mirrors from BoostAuto.com. These are multifunction mirrors that are customizable to your needs or wants. We opted for the Mirrors with the blind spot indicator, defrost, Sequential turn signal, driving lights, Fog lights, and high-powered reverse lights. Spoiler alert, we did have an issue with the wiring, but that was our fault. Please check out BoostAuto.com for the Jeep and truck needs. There is a link below. How to Camo Paint Your Kayak

Good morning RUclips. In this video I go over why I added a Kayak to the channel, AND how I painted it with a Cammo paint scheme. Initially there were some major issues…mostly the paint did not stick to the Kayak. Then when I finally got the paint to stick, it looked bad when it was scratched. Time to Cammo it. I hope that you find the video informative and entertaining. Please consider support...

Welcome to the Dunnage Garage. In Part 4 of the Overland Expo West Adventure series Matt and I limp the broken trailer off the Rimrocker. We find a shop in Moab that has the metal needed to make a temporary/permanent repair. Matt and I spend the day in Moab with a borrowed drill and some miscellaneous hardware and fix the camper. Afterwards it’s time to find a place to camp then head home. Reme...

Overland Expo West part 4, The Road to the RimRocker. This week Matt and I have left Sand Hollow and pointed our Jeeps towards Moab to start the RimRocker. We take a drive through Zion and visit the Zion Mt Carmal tunnel. Then we find a quiet place to sleep on I-Overlander. Then a quick stop in Moab to restock. Now its time to hit the RimRocker...but it hit back! We experience a catastrophic fa...

The Overland Expo West Adventure part 3. I thought I had addressed the fuel and power issues from the first part of the trip. However, before we made it to camp, the navigation issues hit me hard, leaving both Matt and I almost out of gas. For a second time the Jeeps outdated navigation and my phones navigation made it unclear when we needed to turn. After some tense moments we made it to camp ...

Overland Expo West 2024, Why Go? What Went Wrong? This was Matt's and My first trip to Overland Expo West. He and I spent quite a lot of time discussing why we should go. I am assuming if you are watching this video, you are asking yourself the same question. In this video I will discuss the reasons I think you should go. As a bonus I will where all that has gone wrong with this trip...so far. ...

Overland Expo West, The Adventure Begins. Part 1 Getting There. Matt and I started this 5-state adventure at 3am and drove from Nebraska to New Mexico. While this was a long drive the anticipation for the Expo was growing. We arrived late at Mcgaffey Campground and settled down for the night. We woke up early to finish the drive to Flagstaff Arizona. Before leaving we added our All Roads Taken ...

Cheap Easy Storage Solutions For a Jeep, Window Box Build
Thanks for sharing. About to tackle on my 2012 rubicon tomorrow!
What was the final cost?
@mjcdetroit It's been a few years since I made that video, adding the fork, bearing probably added less than $50 to the clutch, pressure plate, throw out bearing and machining the flywheel...however the time spent was huge...doing and redoing it as many times as we did.
👍🏻👍🏻
why, i may ask?
Why not?
What epoxy did you use to fill the cracks and glue the insert back it?
I cannot remember the name. It can be found at most any hardware store. It is a two part with either a 5000 or 10000 # rating. The big thing for me is the auto mixing nozzle.
I have a few questions if you don’t mind? What size tires and differential gears are you running? Are your Wranglers JK’s with the automatic 5 speed? Do you have any problems pulling your campers up those 7% grades? Does your engine water temperature start rising to the 250 degrees mark if you are climbing and have air conditioner on and it’s a hot day? What are the weights of your campers? Thank you!
Thanks for watching, those are great questions. Both Jeeps are stock geared, on 35's. The Tan has 4:11, the green has 4:56. Both are 6 cylinder and automatics. They pulled ok, but we generally keep the speeds down to 65ish. There were some inclines when the gas peddle quit working, no power and slowing down, around 40mph. It wouldn't down shift even...the peddle just didn't work. We crest the hill and everything went back to normal. Both trailers weigh about 2k. My last trip I noticed my temp did go up on a steep incline, but I seem to remember I was also in traffic.
Nice video mate. Bummer about the trailer but a good attitude makes all the difference and now it's history anyway. New sub!
Thanks for the sub! Yep it's all in how you handle life's little apps and downs. Have a blessed day.
Thank you for your contributions to our community. I, like others here, do not know exactly what you're connecting in the very first steps with the test bulb. Could you take a moment to explain in more detail how you're going about connecting the test bulb and the jumper cable? We all appreciate your efforts and dedication to problem solving
Thanks for the feedback, I'll see what I can do.

Awesome!!
Thanks!
Took me 10 minutes. I had to replace mine on break at work
Hope the video helped, thanks for watching.

I like the idea of flipping the shelf!!
It adds a little more usable space. Thanks for commenting.
I think it’s important to know this would happen with any heating device in a tent, which isn’t insulated, unlike camping vehicles.
I am not sure about a diesel heater outside the tent. Thanks for the comment.
I love silly mars so much😢😢😢
Why do you like shelly mosh😢😢😢
Just watched your video. Thanks. I cleaned the same areas you did but have more corrogated and flats than you. Would that be because of a different model perhaps? Also my reason for looking into maintenance is that after lighting the stove recently, flames shot out of the knobs on the two burners. YIKES! Have you ever seen or heard of this happening? I haven't been able to find anything on the web. Thanks again! I'll continue cleaning parts in the meantime.
Thanks for watching and commenting. First and foremost, I am not an expert in this, I would assume you are correct that the different amounts of corrugated and flats would be due to a different model type. I would also assume that there is some sort of O-ring at the burner knobs...BUT I DO NOT KNOW FOR SURE. I have also never heard of that happening. Good luck with your maintenance, and I hope it solves your issues. If you will please drop a line on what you find wrong, or how you fixed it. Thanks again, and have a blessed day.
@@DunnageGarage I put the burners back together the way I took them out. I also saw a video of someone taking off the knobs and cleaning all that out so I did that as well. They were pretty dirty. Reinstalled those and it seems to be working without shooting flames from the knobs! Thanks again for your help.
@@ruthmartin8983 Glad to hear. Thanks for the update.
We were in sand hollow a few weeks ago
Nice, how did you like it?
@@DunnageGarage it was pretty cool. I like Moab better. It’s not as far and there are a lot more moderate trails. Sand Hollow has a lot of hard-core trails. However, we really enjoyed the West Rim Trail.
@@ryandickinson3331 I would like to go back at some point with a few more days and a guide book with the trails listed. As for Moab, that last few miles into town has always felt like I was arriving home! Maybe one of these days I will be able to call Moab home.
A few weeks ago we bought a new Corolla sedan for my wife. Looks like it's not good for off road. 😁
At least not for the Sand Hollow beaches! Lol , thank you for watching and taking the time to comment.
Great work. If she plans to solo overland, please learn flat tire replacement on tow vehicle also. Ans an offroad jack is a good tool to vs stock jack.
Thanks for the tips!
How much was it?
Thanks for watching, I bought it several years ago now, it was on sale and I had a military discount. I'm thinking it was less than $400. But I cannot remember for sure.
@@DunnageGarage looks great. Also, thank you for your service!
It is important to know: 1) Anti-inflammatory pectin slows down metastasis. Pectin competes with sugar. If you buy pectin lozenges, e.g. Luden's, they must be the sugar free version. 2) Consume 5000-1100 IU vitamin D3 with magnesium. Without Magnesium, D3 will not be effective. 3) Turmeric + some black pepper helps. Black pepper improves absorption by 2000%. The overall effect is weak but not zero. 4) Aspirin helps. The overall effect is weak but not zero. 5) Avoid sugars and simple carbs. Cancer in mots cases does not breathe oxygen like normal cells. Instead it ferments glucose and glutamine. You need a ketogenic diet. 6) As a preventive measure, avoid red meat!!! 7) As a preventive measure, avoid eggs if you are above 40!!! 8) Avoid fried food. Instead cook your food. 9) Avoid grilled food or burnt food. 10) If ordinary chemo does not work, it is time for Fenbendazole. Fenbendazole only works for tumors with unstable DNA. Cancer cells do become unstable after a prolonged treatment. That is why conventional chemo + Fenbendazole is the correct approach. Fenbendazole is not effective when the cancer cells have a stable DNA. That is why it cannot replace ordinary chemo. F.Y.I Fenbendazole is an anti-parasitic veterinary medicine.
Thanks for the info, thanks for watching.
@@DunnageGarage Also, specifically, pancreatic cancer which is hard to cure, can be avoided altogether by consumption of hot pepper! See "Chapter 23 - Capsaicin Mediated Oxidative Stress in Pancreatic Cancer".
I think new door panels are needed. Good video.
They were, but too expensive. Thanks for the comment
I have a 2000 Jeep Wrangler TJ that had the exact same problem and I appeared out of no where. Just like you I thought it was a starter but my problem ended up being the positive side of the battery cables were rusted and broken in the cable end so I went an purchase brand new battery cables and ends and now my Jeep fires up every time. I am not saying that is what your problem is but it is worth a look see.
Good to know, thanks for commenting
Right now I'm "that guy" unfortunately....I promise to adjust them soon!
That's funny, thanks for watching! I hope the video helped...and motivated you. lol
What did you wipe it with? That secret bottle😊
Per your edited questions, It was a bottle of 2 part epoxy, clear, and If I remember correctly, paint thinner is what was in the secret bottle.
Looks like fun despite the issues! Have a great summer! 😊
It was a lot of fun. And the issues is what makes it an adventure and not a trip! Thanks for watching.
@@DunnageGarage I try to keep up with ya'll, but, you sure do get a lot accomplished these days. Wonderful!!
@@TRoseTheArtist Yes it seems like I am burning the candle at both ends. I have a project starting up soon that will provide some insight into behind the scenes life of Dunnage Garage it will also have some bonus content that doesn't make it to the "big screen" RUclips...Keep an eye out for the announcement and launch.
Big smile!!
Did you use the ACC tap? On mine the ACC tap is a 5A, the stock ACC fuse is 20A.
Pretty sure I did (I know I have one installed) Remember this swith is low voltage inside the cab, the provided fuse is big enough. All the higher draw parts are under the hood and use the big breaker switch. Thanks for watching and commenting.
I appreciate your tenacity to open that primary selected switch location. I have the same setup and was about to tackle the same task. I will locate the controller switch in the same location you did. Again thank you!
Thanks for watching and commenting. I have found that while functional the switch it almost impossible to see where I mounted mine. If I were to do it again, I would mount it somewhere else. Good luck
I agree, but. At least that part is an inexpensive part to replace. I did not want to put a hole in a non replaceable part of the dashboard. I also did not use the escutcheon. But drilled a small hole and mounted the switch directly to the panel. The numbers mean nothing to me, I set the brake for stall speed of the transmission, meaning that the jeep can't roll forward under idle., this has been my best experience.
Picking up our Outbound Extreme on Friday! Great to support our states businesses
Yes it is, Thank you for supporting this channel with a watch and comment.
What a pain-in-a$$! 😅😅 It would seem that pulling-back the right-hand plastic fender well, and removing the auxiliary battery box & battery from underneath, is a much easier way to do it, without wrestling that fuse panel out, nor having to disturb any of the electrical connections at/under the fuse box. In any case, this certainly was not one of Jeep's better ideas! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching and sharing another way to do the job.
Thanks for all your help, can you give please give me the part number for the input slip
You are welcome, I'll see if I can find a part number. I sold the Jeep a few years back, and I'm not sure if I still have the records.
I've been searching for a to the point instruction on how to find a parasitic draw. 2008 F 150 I've upgraded the lights to LEDs they work great. About a month ago I attemted to install a back up camera and spliced into the left brake light to power the camera and used a power outlet to power the monitor. The truck has just developed a draw on the battery that kills it within a few hours. I'll try your method this evening and get this thing resolved, thanks for video.
I hope the video helps, thanks for the comment.
Thx for the info. I just sold my TJ and bought a JK so I have to swap out my Auxbeam. This video answered my questions.
Glad I could help!
Great video. Looking to head to the Black Hills this Fall & need a place to layover on the way. This looks like the perfect area.
I really enjoy camping here. I hope you enjoy it too.
What wire, the battery cable ? You're so close to helping me out, but you can't see what you are doing. And you're not being very specific. So I need to let the truck sit for an hour? What wire are you talking about.
Sorry I wasn't as helpful in this video. I'll try to do better in upcoming videos. Thanks for the feedback.
Where exactly is this?
Lake Mead RV Village
Will cutting the wires prevent unwanted updates?
I am not sure. I didn't cut mine to ensure they would still work after the re-install.
What screw sizes are they? My package didn’t come with any and I can’t find any that fit??
I am sorry, I did not pay attention to the hardware size.
Have you gone through Connecticut yet?
Not yet.

What is the clearance from the bottom of the shelf to the floor? Your link is no longer showing the product, do you recall the name?
It was the most inexpensive one out there. 18.75". However, I clearenced mine and have it upside-down for my needs.
Would you be willing to share your story one day?
Thanks for watching. Yes, I am willing to share my kidnapping story.
Went riding out there today. I’ve got a 18’ crew cab Silverado 1500 😅 quite a few (tight) trails in there! Had a good time though 😊
Yep, your right, very tight in places. Glad we went, but have no desire to go back...lol. Spent too much time buffing out the pinstriping!
I thought your solution and troubleshooting were AWESOME!_ However, the vide would be better is we could see your test lead placement better, and we could see what you were connecting the test leads to better than that, I could sus out what you said, but I like many knuckleheads learn better with pictures.
Thanks for watching and providing feedback.
