    maybe some locator magnets in the corners of between to help snapping it together? Could be bad for having credit cards but there's likely also ways to protect against that or just not have cards that are sensitive to magnets. I really really like the idea of putting the wallet onto the battery bank though.

    Kickass project! Oh, and another way to tell positive from negative on LEDs (in case you've salvaged one from some circuit, and end up cutting the leads the same length), is that the LED "bulb" part has the round rim at the base of it, as FLAT on one of the pole sides 😉👍

    Great DIY project and I like the price! Thanks for another good one. So Phil, seeing your saved bits and pieces reminds me of, or is exactly the same stuff I save. Nice minimum electric project. Works also with a 3V coin cell. See for example Felix Immler "How to add a LED Light on your Victorinox Swiss Army Knife". Even without the tubes the light will work under water. Only thing that will happen over time is corrosion, that's why Victorinox did not bother to make their LED flashlight in their knifes water resistant. Under water It also should strain the battery a little bit more, since you have a small electrolysis running. ;)

    • @EarthlingEDC
      @EarthlingEDC 9 дней назад

      You will definitely get a bit of rust on the two batteries and I would avoid getting salt water on it, but the fresh water is not really a problem for it as long as it is not inwoter for a prolonged period. In regard to coin cells, I had considered that, but like the longer life I get from the two AAA batteries. Many thanks for your post.

See: ruclips.net/video/o9cNhz9Ykgc/видео.html I've repaired dishwasher pumps, replaced dryer belts, most of the video I do for this channel require me to adjust or build something that require me to use my kit. I've repaired numerous household items for relatives and my family. Using them whenever possible makes you understand what they are capable of and having them nearby or on your person reduces that barrier of having to go get your tools, since you've already got them. I'm just a guy with tools and I like to use them :-) There are quite a few folks that follow this channel that seem to have similar interests and that's who these videos are for. Thanks for asking !

    FWIW Phil, the Mini Sailor Scissors version Nextool made for Olight is a little different (Otacle P1S). The P1S was released in April of 2024 during the Olight anniversary sale. It does not have the tiny pliers. It replaces those with the combo can opener/bottle opener tool from the regular MiniSailor. Accordingly, the flat head is different too. The flat head is the same as the MiniSailor, deleting the bottle opener found on the Nextool MiniSailor Scissors version. But the biggest difference is the file. In place of the straight cut file side, they have a diamond file. And they added a metal saw edge. So it's a 3-sided file with cross cut, diamond file and metal saw. An improvement IMO.

    • @EarthlingEDC
      @EarthlingEDC 9 дней назад

      @ParkerBinion - Thanks for this info. That 3 sided file sounds interesting. The current file on the mini sailor with scissors could definitely be better. I have both versions of the mini sailor (plier & scissors models) the file needs to be better.. Thanks again for your post.

    If we're talking about the Altoids kit as a thought exercise, then obviously you're cheating, but more importantly I feel like that would be uncomfortably bulky. A big part of the appeal of these to me that they're the perfect size to slip into a pocket, so attaching additional containers to the outside would defeat the point. One thing you might want to consider is that many of the larger smartphone belt pouches will accommodate two Altoids tins. I did that for a long time until I found myself carrying stuff that just wasn't going to fit in any such container, like a power bank, at which point I got a Rothco passport pouch. Now my Altoids tin lives in the bottom of my bag and holds small miscellaneous items like ChapStick, bandaids, and my inCharge universal cable.

    That pocket rack looks like an amazingly cool idea! Using mini mint/match tins for the most essential 1/4" or 4mm bits makes sense, but you kinda need something to do with the tin afterward. Great that you just velcro it to a plastic carrier in the form of the pocket rack. And elastic and heat shrink to hold everything else? A perfect solution.

    It's not a tick removal tool, it's a cuticle removal toolIt's not a tick removal tool, it's a cuticle removal tool. It trims your cuticles on your fingernails.

    For me, as a rule, I keep only what fits inside and allows for the tin to close. It's challenging, but rewarding. It forces discipline for sure!

    I dont think jb weld or glue is any better than velcro. Rivets maybe.

    What i really think is, i would change my idea about edc. I would pack the can with everything i need instead of want. Then my can would easily close Or i may not, need, it at all.

      @mikebrittain6191 - That's how I think you should use one on these tins. They are an exercise in defining what is important to your EDC.

    I would use the bigger sucrets can, the one that came with 33 percent more. Or I would use a prince Albert's can.
