      Of the ones I've built with and reviewed, I'd say the chn-50 for small builds (it's only 7w but great little driver) or the 4 inch CHR-70 is great in the right sized cabinet for an average sized room.!

    So how do you think compares this speaker with the "Le Petit"? the one of most famous single driver speaker?

    • @DIY-AUDIO
      @DIY-AUDIO 20 дней назад

      I haven't heard the 'le Petit' in action and haven't tried the Fostex driver usually used in that build. All I can say is that in my opinion the Markaudio drivers are excellent (for the money) once run in and although I like this design (the one I built here) , I personally think it's slightly over engineered as there is no resonance from the cabinet at all. Some think this is how it should be but, for a full range driver and the type of music I listen to, I personally like a little resonance (think acoustic guitar) . This may be achieved by building in Plywood as apposed to MDF though.

    • @DIY-AUDIO
      @DIY-AUDIO 24 дня назад

      Depends what you want to achieve. A Fosi amp is going to be fairly cheap with Bluetooth. I'd look at something with a bit more connectivity tho like Arylic. You can then add your speakers to your TV and stream music (better than BT). Link herewww.arylic.com?aff=105

      Must admit I don't know them. Guessing depending on wattage of your speakers you will be fine. I like the slightly warmer sound that you get with tube amp for my full range drivers. I've not tried it on two way speakers.

    Hello, would connecting a 100w subwoofer to this TPA3116 amplifier be enough, or would I have to look for a more powerful amplifier?

    • @DIY-AUDIO
      @DIY-AUDIO 27 дней назад

      To get everything out of your 100w sub, you would need to check the power supply you would be using, as although this amp is rated at 100w for the sub and 50w x 2 for the l + r drivers with the average power supply you may only get 70% of the max power. So, to get the full 100watts, you may want to consider a bigger amp but, that will obviously cost more!! Hope this sort of makes sense

      They are all free range so have only use as such. My personal preference across all frequencies (after a really good run in) are the Markaudio ones. I've built a couple sets of speakers with them and the soundstage is amazing for such a low powered driver.

      Thank you for reply. From what I see you have been using aluminum cone Markaudio, correct? Do you have any experience with Markaudio PLUVIA-7PHD, that has paper cone? I personally never liked not aluminum nor polypropylene cones sound
