Exploring an abandoned children's summer camp in Brezoi, Romania
Hello, this adventure takes us to an abandoned children's summer camp in Brezoi, Valcea County, Romania, very close to the Calimanesti and Caciulata resorts. Situated in the middles of the Carpathians mountains, surrounded by beautiful scenery, the camp is almost 100 years old and during its existence hosted countless generation of children. According to the little infomation I could gather, the camp was abandoned sometimes in the early 2000's, and since then it has been left to rot, its ruins quickly decaying year by year. Such a shame considering the unique architecture of the camp's buildings and the very favorable position.

Custom brass fender for a vintage KTM hobby moped [DIY - metalworking]
Просмотров 1716 месяцев назад
Recently I have required a derelict KTM Hobby moped from the early 70's. Part of the process of bringing it back to life involved finding something to use as a front fender, which was missing. Therefore I have decided to make my own fender, in my small metal workshop out of brass and the resulting video is the visual story of how this brass fender was crafted. I hope you'll like it!
Old tool presentation: the reciprocating metal saw from the 1970's [Kasto Junior]
Просмотров 1447 месяцев назад
Today's video star is an unusual but clever gadget: a Kasto Junior metal cutting saw from the late 1970's. A metal cutting tool made back in the day when even hobby-level tools were quality machines build to last. This reciprocating metal saw was designed to be powered by a regular electric drill and it was a handy addition to any hobbyist's metalwork shop (or shed) back in the day allowing for...
Demonstrating the metal shrinker-stretcher. A must have tool in the D.I.Y. workshop!

The shrinker stretcher does what its name implies: it shrinks or stretches a metal lip allowing the creation of various rounded metal lips which in turn can be used to create replacement panels for vintage car metal work, for metal art projects or various metal fabrication elements. Today I am going to demonstrate its use with brass, but of course, it can be used with all the usual metals found...
Making a [DIY] metal shrinking stump for sheet metal work

Hello! In today's video I shall make a very simple but useful "tool": a metal shrinking stump. That is, a wood stump with a carved top to be used for beating sheet metal into shape. The design is simple and all you need to do is to locate a dry wood stump and find a way to carve its top into a concave shape. For this is have chosen to use a wood carving disk mounted on an angle grinder. It's no...

Hello, the frame was cut at a metal laser cutting business found on-line in my area. Since then, I have understood that they no longer take outside orders. But, my solution is for the situation in which the glass is no longer present (i did not have mine), if you have your original glass I am afraid this system will not work, as the original glass is already larger in size than the actual opening and it cannot be drilled.

Thanks for your comment. It really made me feel better. Unfortunately I have gave up on RUclips as the platform is very unfair to small creators, especially those located in obscure countries. There are many things that contributed to that, but the main trigger that made take this decision is that almost an year ago I have received an e-mail from Google Adsense (the part of Google that you get money from, if your channel is monetized) claiming that my channel is depicting hacking, misleading information and content that induces people to do things against their will and terminated my Adsense account without any further right to appeal. This slap in the face (considering the fact that I wasn't even monetized) made abandon RUclips and wishing them nothing but good things :) In any case, thanks again for the king words, and good luck on your projects.

@@lusitaniafilms Thanks for appreciation for my country. Unfortunately, when they cancelled my AdSense account they have basically turned off any possibility of receiving money from RUclips and/or other Google entities (this would also apply to let's say the situation where I would be making an Android mobile app and try to monetize it via adds). The only way to legally and risk-free circumvent that would be for me to create a different AdSense account in the name of a different entity such as a firm, with different address and bank accounts, and I am not ready to undertake such a step. Since then, i did not gave up entirely, I am currently rebuilding on TikTok, but in my native language, and the initial results are encouraging, even though I don't really like TikTok and I would have preferred to make content in English.

Hy, this is a valid question, however i think the length of additional line necessary to affect fuel pressure is far greater than what I have installed in that particular experiment. The only thing I might have done differently would be have a bead of sealant or glue between the frame and canvas as this would also give strength to the canvas - sort of like the bond/rivet idea Jaguar used when building their aluminium cars. Will be interesting to see how long it lasts.

    • @isographer
      @isographer 4 месяца назад

Hy, i have considered using some sealant but in the end decided to go against it, for three reasons: 1. In case my experiment wasn't successful and I had to re-do it, i did not want to compromise the lip of the opening with hardened/sticky sealant. This way, if things go bad, i can just drill out the rivets and re-do it. 2. I was hoping that the canvas will become its own sealant, and luckily, it did. I sprayed the canvas top with a pressure washer many times, and I have no water ingress at the rear window ( i had to put a drop of gel Super Glue on each of the rivet's centers, because i had water seeping in through there, but not at the actual lip/rim of the window 3. I was afraid that applying sealant might result in ugly run-out dripping from under the metal frame, as I am not usually very good with glues/gooey stuff.

@@isographer "i had to put a drop of gel Super Glue on each of the rivet's centers, because i had water seeping in through there" - You have addressed my only concern. Basically I was worried that the hole in the canvas would move over time and become distorted, thus allowing water ingress. But you have it covered - nice job. If only all cars had the rear window pressed in, like my Saabs, instead of glued in, like my Volvo and your Audi, the world would be a better place...!

Succes.

Thank you, the secret is to use sand. I have actually managed to cast a more complex shape in a later video, but in that situation I have kept the mold over night in the oven. I do believe that it is important to remove all the water content from it.

Great job. Really nice vise, well worth the restoration. Your other vise looks good also. Time to give it a redo?

Hy, thanks for the kind words. To be frank it will not happen soon as the second vise is a locally produced one (Romania) in the 1990's and is not as valuable and is quite common around here. Furthermore, it is the vise I abuse the most and sees a lot of grinding, hammering and bashing not to forget all those times I've clamped something in it and heated up with a blowtorch... so unfortunately it won't get pretty any time soon.... I just oil the main screw and sliders from time to time.
