Can i use the ek civic temperature sensor? or do i need a eg sensor?
@b18turbo24 Im not entirely sure tbh i wanna say yeah but i dont remember trying out the different sensors for compatibility.
@projectgoodspeed i only say it.because i cant find one for the 92 95 civic..and i noticed the 99 civic has the same 3 pin connector.. but i guess i go to junkyard and find out.
@b18turbo24 yeahh i just checked my civic and it does have the 3 pin connector. I think i remember swapping out connectors just because of the wire length, i think they might be interchangeable thoo other than the wire length👍
Would be nice if you could point the lights onto a wall so we could see the beam pattern...
@rygaros6669 damnn. Yeahhh, you right. I got an LED headlight video planned for the future ill do it then👍
Bought my 2023 Corolla hatchback in May on 2023, drive full time Uber with it, now it's got 57,000 miles on it. No problem whatsoever. One advice, don't trust that 10,000 mile oil change the dealer talks about, i do my own oil change every 5k miles, and rotate my tires at the same time. Still on the original tires, but since im an aggressive driver, changed the front brake pads at 40k. But if you are a smooth driver they will last you 60k easy. Great car, super reliable and surprisingly fun to drive and very comfortable. I tested every aspect of it as an Uber driver. Very smart buy
@bmad87 My Man!!🤝 im pretty aggressive with it now too lol something about the size of this little car makes me just wanna zip around like im on set of fast & furious tokyo drift! Good lookin out tho, im gunna do an oil change on it soon then👍
@@projectgoodspeed I use the mobil 1 0w16 synthetic, and the mobil 1 filter. I Just don't trust the 0w8 they ask for, for my type of driving.
Man i wish honda made a fun hatch again
@ohcaptainmycaptain9513 You and me both mann!!!😔
@@projectgoodspeed I'm holding on to my ek hatch and never letting go!
@ohcaptainmycaptain9513 Helll Yeahhh!!! Ek hatchbacks are sick!! I couldnt afford one back in the day when i bought my eg. Lol cause apparently they are more sought after…
5 ways relay can make it running and blinker at the same time.
Your console has the cigarette lighter on the right side so it's a USDM/CDM/EDM unit. JDM has the the cigarette lighter on the left side. Hope that helps 😊
Yanked the ac out my CRX and i live where it gets really hot. Have another car with ac. Dont need it in my sports car.
Just about done with the a/c install in my 94. Was wondering if you charged the a/c yourself, if so how many Oz of r134a did you put in, and how much oil? Or do you only have to put the oil in the compressor?
@LawMasterTimmy I actually took it to a shop to let them charge the system with refrigerant. As for the oil, since i used mostly used parts they all had some traces of oil in them but i believe i did mention how many ounces i added to ONLY the compressor. I cant quite remember but it is in this video
It was the fast idle valve, once you screwed the valve all the way down it corrected the issue
Nice progress, just recover the headliner. If your carpet isn't destroyed, you could spray dye it, usually comes out pretty clean
@wallicefreak i might just do that, thanks!🤙
I'm trying to install A/C in my 1992 hatch. It came from the factory without A/C. I'm having a hard time trying to figure out which A/C harness to buy that's in the engine bay that's connects to the relays, fan motor etc... I would love to see that in a video
@dennistavares4494 Im pretty sure this is another one of those a car specific parts that can only be found in 92-95 Civic models. I believe its called “ AC front support harness” or “ac front compressor/condenser subharness” something like that… theyre like $50 at junkyards, probably ~$80 on ebay. Try Rockauto.com they might have it cheaper👍
Thanks!!
@@dennistavares4494 i might have an extra one laying around
I’m pretty sure the carpet in the coupes and hatches are the same. 4 doors might be aswell
@prospectgarage5505 I know the coupe fits in the hatch…. Cause thats what i have right now lol BUT finding a carpet that ISNT torn/damaged/black/NOTSTAINED….. is gunna be tough😅
Love the vids from PR, They helped me a lot in understanding the A/C on this cars thx to them I got it working on my 95 EG sedan DX and did the Cabin Air filter upgrade using a 98 EK hatchback, at the moment I'm thinking of trying to upgrade the condenser to a full size one because I can only get it to(night)-60° (day)-70° degrees and my system is charged correctly but idk if I'm expecting much I'm used to my 95 K1500 that's always at 40° with no issues also I wanted to add that I had to eliminate my A/C thermostat because it was randomly turning off the A/C until I would shut off the car and restart again with outwaiting and I changed it from a 94 and it did the same thing sow I just took the Blue/Red, Yellow/White and connected them sow the only way the A/C turns off is by me pressing the A/C button, Also the A/C button in my case sometimes sent the ground sow the signal to the relay and sometimes it didn't but the light would always come on and I found out if you pushed a bit harder than usual it would always work, I took the Low side pipe that goes to the cabin connecting to the evaporator and got it added with bong for a low pressure switch from 2011 ford escape and just spliced it before the ground (signal) goes to the high pressure switch, Finally I redid the Relays with only 1 60 amp relay and extended a bit the cables like the Condenser fan blue/black wire and did a little hole sow I could hide mostly all the cables and the relay itself.
Informative video! I wish I stumbled on this when I was adding the AC to my EK hatch! Might go back and do it again eventually. This is too good!
This video just popped in my recommendations, i have a 99 hatch and just fixed the A/C! i just wish that parts for old hatches were in better conditions, in my town in facebook marketplace i saw an old civic AF that i could not find parts for it and went for an EK.
@arisd.o.s6672 Nice! Thanks for watching! Yeahh you aint wrong, ive had my run in of several civic parts being pretty much lost causes BUT for hatches its even more annoying cause they’re harder to find and more annoying when you find them in terrible condition for prices that dont reflect that lol ANNOYING!😅
Same problem ,,my car at the morning the ildel crazy to,,but after 10 minutes,,,my car running normal back😂😂
j u wanna sell this hatch ???
@FNBRENT Neeevverrrrrrrrrr!!!😤 lol

@AndToTheRepublic4WhichItStands Damnn.. i did not know that. Ima check it out for next time, Thanks👍
@@projectgoodspeed Np man. I'm about to start dealing w this nightmare myself.
@AndToTheRepublic4WhichItStands Best of Luck!👍
Wire loom comes split like that so the wires can be pushed in.
Im about to do this too. I have blackhousing headlights with clears. In the front. I also have clears in the rear. My question is should get clear or orange amber side markers? Also should I purchase a clear rear fog or a red rear fog?
@popclutch_100 Thats a good a question.. 🤔 i mean me im not a fan of the clear (all white) style but if you already have clears on the rear AND front might as well make them match👍 Same goes for the rear fog as well.
This is the sort of results in after as nust had a few parts powder coated and gettig the top mounts and near by areas painted at a bodyshop so for ahows the engine bay ahould look nice and shiny and more rust free
i have the same broken AC climate control slider in my eg XD thanks for the video!
Yo I did the same ‘99 conversion evap box but the water from the condensation is leaking all inside lmao did you have same problem?
@christopher4692 uhhh no. Lol it sounds like your box might be cracked, or the spout where it drains out could be busted, or the hose connected to the spout is loose and isnt draining to the engine bay properly
@@projectgoodspeed it’s for sure not cracked but yeah ima double check that now
@@projectgoodspeed it’s actually coming out of the cabin air filter cover. Drain must not be draining
@christopher4692 forsure, it could also be thats its clogged up inside the box with leaves and debris that might have gotten past the filter
@@projectgoodspeed yeah I haven’t bothered checking but will today for sure
That's kinda genius honestly, i would try later.
I have a vacuum leak I couldn't find. The idol was bouncing up and down, it was a rubber seal in between the brake master cylinder and the brake vacuum booster. When I press my brakes hard it idles fine, and when I take my foot off it bounces.
Maintaining older Hondas is not easy...
How much it cost
@mercpindi5522 that is a good question…i think the parts themselves if bought at the same junkyard can be as low as $300 (they a have an A/C package). I had to go to several different places tho (hoses, harness, compressor) and i also bought brand new stuff (exp valve, o rings, oil, drier, evaporator) so all in all about $400-$500 in parts (without AC recharge..) bought over several months. i spent a lot more though because of broken parts, diagnosis, ac recharge (twice), and ac collection lol i wouldve saved a lot of money buying stuff from only 1 junkyard but i couldn’t find a donor car with everything. It is what it is.
@@projectgoodspeed its good u know how to do it otherwise its not possible for me to do it
@mercpindi5522 yeaahh it was definitely challenging trying to figure out how to do all this since i have little experience but it was cheaper than paying someone else to do it…😅 It took me months to collect all the stuff, made it easier on my wallet that way..😅
@@projectgoodspeed thats not too bad.
@@projectgoodspeed yeh for sure its a long term patience project
For the ac belt what exactly does it go to? Just the pulley and compressor?
@pm-qc5on the ac belt goes over the compressor, the pulley, and the crank pulley where all the other belts are👍
Ahh ok thank you
Also my climate control has no ac button can I just remove the button and add the ac button it do I have to get a new climate control?
i have the same issue with my 2007 civic fa1 since i've cleaned the throttle body, did the relearn process with no luck, scanned the car and tried reset the idle but still didnt work, any help ???
@djredx2462 Sorry idk too much bout that year of civics…
Doing this on my 92 civic that came without ac from factory. Can I use parts from 92-95 or do I specifically have to use only one year? I already bought a mix of parts from various years
@pm-qc5on Nice broo! I spent years without AC lol i feel yah! 👍 So from what i understand anything with refrigerant running through it needs to be year specific. Basically 92-93 use different refrigerant than 94-95 civics. However when it came to these assemblies they kinda are not year specific. I have used an evaporator from a 98 ek civic and this evaporator is from a Honda crv. Sooo as far as that goes basically, if it fits the assembly unit in the dash ive found 92-2000 indash parts are pretty compatible for hondas lol
Welcome back my bro

You smell it because the fluid was leaking & the smell coming in the vents but you can just pressure wash the bay maybe underneath to & remove the seats & rent a rub doctor & shampoo & detail clean the seats leave the vents blowing with the windows open for a few hours smell should go away the seats are still good just need a good clean
@budgetbuild914 Their is no smell, thats the troublesome part. If i could smell it i could clean it, thing is when i did clean it the vents still gave me headaches. the seats might be okay but idk yet we’ll see
Check Your AC Pressure Switch, They Go Out And Will Not Kick On Your Compressor.
@Iseekoutthetruth That was the only part i didn’t know how to check tbh. Lol But the tech was able to get the compressor to turn on soo i “assumed” it was fine. Turns out my A/C compressor coil went out so the clutch couldn’t engage. Its fixed tho, thanks👌

where did you get the new windshield wiper assembly? thanks
@tsiliffe the motor i picked up at the junkyard. I got lucky and their was another hatchback there. The wiper on the other hand is my old one and definitely needs to be replaced😅 idk where to buy one tho lol
The fumes might have got in from the fresh air ducts in the cowl. Since the prop valve was leaking inside the engine bay I dont see how else they would have made their way into the cabin. There's also a grommet and seal for the shifter assembly which sits above the exhaust that could have let fumes in, only other "hole" i can think of.
@bowser4 yeah i suspected it was the air duct vent. Ive already replaced the shift boot seal soo thats probably how it got in…👍
