AMAZING Transformation of Antique Desk Chair | Furniture Restoration
Просмотров 137 тыс.5 месяцев назад
This weeks video was chosen by the people, for the people. I conducted a pole letting viewers pick the piece of furniture I restore for this video. The winner was this Desk Chair, which turned out nicely since it will pair well with the typewriter desk. The wood was cracked and the metal swivel and rocker were rusted and worn out. With a little TLC I brought this chair back to its former glory....
I Restored a 1950s Broken Typewriter Desk | Furniture Restoration
Просмотров 30 тыс.6 месяцев назад
Free FB marketplace finds aren't always the best. Missing drawer bottoms, water warped drawers, rusted typewriter mechanism, tarnished brass feet and a desktop with a burn mark on it. When I reached out about this desk the photos showed it sitting in garage, however, when I showed up it had been sitting outside in the rain for days. All this aside, I thought this would be a unique and fun resto...
100 Year Old Buffet Kept Falling Apart | Furniture Restoration
Просмотров 51 тыс.8 месяцев назад
This furniture restoration was my most frustrating to date. Broken drawers, drawer slides, drawer stops, cabinet floors, dents and scratches, and my fight with a bent and cross threaded screw. I purchased the antique buffet off Facebook market place. The owner told me it was 100 years, and it certainly looked like it had 100 years worth of wear and tear. I removed all the old stain and varnish ...

Maravilhoso!!
The veneer work on this is so gorgeous
A shame they painted over it.
Anticlimactic* meaning kinda disappointing, anticlimatic is totally different, and isn't really a word, but it would be involving climate/weather
I know. I hate when I catch a typo when the video is already loaded. I would have reupload the whole video and delete the current one just to fix the letter "c" haha.
NOTE TO SELF: Ask Santa for $500 worth of clamps in various sizes, and a new random orbital sander for Chridtmas!!!
Haha. They are on the list! Top priority is a table saw, though. Any recommendations on the orbital sander?
Very amazing. That piece was headed to the landfill, glad you saw the potential in it. Excellent job, turned out beautifully.
Gorgeous!
Thank you! Cheers!
I like you left some of the "historic" dings and didn't over restored. Also, IMHO oil finish is the best choice. It restores the shine and helps with the dryness of the wood.
Amazing work
I have this drsser still use it. But now i know what the morror in the basement goes to. Was given the house with many many things left behind
Excelente Trabalho! Parabéns...
Это космос❤
Muito linda!!!!!😮😍
Great job!!!
А поремонтувати верх передньої панелі верхньої шухляди біля замка щось завадило?
Glorious restoration! Well done, you.
Many thanks!
Beautiful restoration, congratulations 👏👏👏
Has to do with camera settings. I need to switch it. I didn't notice the mono sound until post production and I couldn't change it.
Amé este trabajo! Precioso ❤
Nice save, turning the board backwards helped. You not only have enough glue on one side but you caught yourself making a mistake by gluing all the ends. 🙂❤️🌺
Thanks! You are right! I caught it the second I went to reach for the last board haha.
Behind the scenes, were you 1980's hairing it, too?
I don't have much hair left to style lol. If I did though, it would be more of the fashionable mullet rather than the hairband style.
Ugly !!!
I have that exact same brand and model of router. I actually have four routers, and my Milwaukee is my favorite.
Do you have the DeWalt router? If so, do you like it? I need a new router and have heard great things about the Milwaukee router, however I already have a bunch of DeWalt batteries and don't want to spend the money switching.
@ I do not have a DeWalt router, although I do I have a lot of DeWalt tools. The Milwaukee router is top notch. I built a cabinet for my bathroom with that router, and it was incredible to use. I made a raised panel door for it using Harbor Freight bits, and it came out perfect. I’d recommend a Milwaukee for sure based on my experience.
Esplêndido!❤❤❤❤❤❤
I have a project like this one that’s been waiting for a year and a half for restoration. I’m dreading it because it’s got multiple coats of paint on it.
My most recent video is a project that required a lot of paint stripping. It was kind of a nightmare. Your dread is rational haha
why is the sound only in my left ear
Wow!! Die Resultat ist Wunderschön!! Congratulliren für deine Große Talent!!!😊😊
It is great to see you have not gone for a miserable dark stain!❤
I think they used dark stains to cover up imperfections in the wood
Crush walnuts would've been better than baking soda
That’s a great tip!
Trabalho maravilhoso ❤
Thank you!!
What style of furniture is it? Really stout.
The style is called American Empire. Popular in the 1830-1850s
Very nice end result. Old furniture is just beautiful. You do well.
Thank you! I agree.
Ottimo ma non mi è piaciuto il cambio di colore...Perchè?
I don’t like the dark stains
Are you shooting a movie or restoring a chair? Enough with the drama. Not worth watching
It’s a short film.
If there was going to be any fee for that, it should’ve been the seller paying you $20 to take it off their hands.
I agree. Should have told him I was a waste removal service haha.
If you really want to save a piece of furniture in disastrous condition, there is a wood hardener. Search:" Marc restauratore " , he uses this hardener for very old and almost destroyed pieces. Anyway, I congratulate you on your excellent work.
I apologize, I got the name wrong, the correct one is: Makerstauratore .
i love the way you reuse and repurpose some of the furniture you get. It brings a smile to my sole
Thank you!!
Beautiful 🤩
Thank you!!
Beautiful result. Thanks for sharing your work with us. Looks great!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
Complimenti.....sei bravissimo.
Thank you!!
👍👍👍
Thanks!
I'm glad it is not in a landfill. But if you put gel stain and wipe on poly on a historic antique furniture piece you should not call yourself a 'restorer'... makes any real restorer look bad.
Beautiful color!
It is! Better than that dark stain.
I very much doubt that dovetail joints were made in the manner shown in this video
They are machined dovetails.
Que trabalho maravilhoso! Irretocável! Ameiiiiii! Ganhou mais uma inscrita.
Thanks! And thanks for the sub!
Beautifull work ❤🎉
Thank you!
Absolutely beautiful. Great Job!!!!
Thank you!
Very nice job
Thank you!
Wow, you did a beautiful job!👏
Thank you!!
Gorgeous! 🤗
It is!
This piece looks so much like the pieces that are in The Omni Bedford Springs Hotel in Bedford PA. They have many original pieces there still. The hotel dates back to 1796
