Absolutely Stunning!! Thanks for sharing the stripper techniques! You saved me a lot of time and money. Another Job well done!!
Thank you! I liked the soda blasting but it was very messy and uses a lot of baking soda.
Amazing! Thanks for sharing!
To save time on the edge banding, you can put painter's tape over the void, trace the shape, put the tape on the edge banding and cut it out with scissors. Any old household pair of scissors cuts through that iron-on stuff no problem!
This is great information! Thanks for watching!
This is truly beautiful sir . There are many restorations online , some are good , some ok , some that the person doing the restoring or "flipping" , should be banned from going anywhere near furniture ,This though is sublime , a work of art , so thankyou

Where do you live? I wanna come over and cut all the tags off of your microfiber towels. lol. This was beautiful
😂 I’ll make sure to rid all my towels of their tags. Thank you!
LOL 😅 I was thinking the same thing - those tags are pesky !
That's weird. Haha. Sit on your hands.
@@gregpendrey6711 lmao. Ok I’ll try that 🥴
Amazing!
I would subscribe but I like to hear your thoughts as you’re working. You need to dub over your videos with explanations of how/why you are doing a task. And then describe your products. I often look at others to help me. This was difficult to follow without the voice overs. Your piece turned out beautifully. Thanks for sharing.
I’ve been going back as forth on whether or not I should do voice overs.
@@restorationrhode I really like hearing the restorers thoughts on why they are doing a specific process. For me it’s all about…why did you choose to oil and wax to a finish a piece vs. poly or lacquer as your finish. I have watched both methods but I love hearing what is going thru your head while you are doing it. Later when you dub over you can explain more in depth the process. Just sayin…it really helps other’s understanding YOUR process. Thanks again for sharing. Happy furniture restorations!!!
Kimberly! 😮
Please don‘t do the Voiceover. I love this type of videos without an Voice. I Love it more when you writing your thoughts down.
And I subbed just because there is no “narrator”! Love this type of videos without blah blah!
Wowwwww
What a stunning piece. I wonder what the companion pieces were like. Is this a French Nepoleanic style? In about what year was this made?
Thank you! I’m really not sure of the date. There are no markings on it. It is very similar to napoleanic or a Louis XV style.
perfect. it came out lovely. what style is this? I've never seen like it before.
Thank you! I'm not 100% certain but it does have a lot of Louis XV style characteristics and could probably fit into that category.
I presume that the stripper which you are applying is the methyl chloride type. What is the best way to dispose of the removed finish?
Yes, this particular one was the methyl chloride version. However, I have switched to the non-methyl chloride. I dispose of the waste by putting it in old used paint cans (I save the empty ones) and then take them to my towns transfer station where they have a hazardous/paint waste drop.
Why yes. By the way. Would you have any Grey Poupon?
It might well be an antique piece, but I see Philips screws that were patented in 1936 . Perhaps repair work.
This is great info. I didn’t know that about Philips screws. I’m working on my next piece and it has all flathead screws not a single Philips. Doesn’t mean it’s older than 1936 but it very well could be
