Your Most Frequently Asked Questions About the 1-Ton Jeep WJ, Answered!
Man that black looks badass I have a black 2012 TRD sport 4x4 double cab in manual and am looking at the RC vertex 2.5 with the 3" inch lift, since I don't do much off roadin, more just light trails I'd probably go with the blocks, not sure yet.
Nice job bro. Cool hat! Explain that!? Crazy cool to see your son watching you work bro. He won't forget that. His dad working on trucks! Man I remember things about an F100 that many would care less about in K Falls, Oregon. I can tell from your experience that this kit wasn't shit. hahaha Previous lifts. 1" lift ok. pulling the shock and the spring no big. Lifts become trash when you go so big you can't turn. Quad D is a thing. Avoid pavement princess. . . I digress.
How did you level out the rear I lifted mines with the same lift and mines sit a bit lower on the rear than the front
Did the tires rub without doing the Cab Mount Chop?
Very helpful how you’re not showing all the details, music is way more helpful lol
Man, I'm sad I missed this. I had an early thanksgiving with family in Eatonville, so I was just down the road too! Did you run the WJ at all?
Awesome coverage!
So I have. 2inch leveling kit on my Chevy colorado 23 and I was wondering… what if I put a 4 inch strut in the front would you think that would be to aggressive or just right?
Nicely done brother, I just had one question, why did you remove the fusebox completely 😂😅, lol ,just my 2 cent.. I just push them up and zip tied them temporarily away
Hi man, loved the video! What would you say is the difference in ride quality between the kit with the leaf springs and the one with the blocks? Could you elaborate on this. Its not about the money since its 200$ more.. would like to know pros and cons! Thanks!!!
So the factory brake lines worker with the cailpers?
What about the air pressure sensors how dose all that work
That was awesome ! I have done things being so tired I should not be doing it. But that was awesome job fixing it! Brother don’t stop wrenching !
We just did this trail in 2024 w the same guide. Really great trail. Thanks everbody!
So i have a 2022 JLU wrangler unlimited sport . It says it’s not in park an in drive . I can not get it into park and will not start . I need help cause i can not afford to take it to the dealer . Please help
OUTSTANDING work my friend, keep up the videos your shit is tight.
Thanks so much!! I really appreciate that!!
I went with a -12 offset on the KMC GRS rims with Mud Grapplers
Rad, that sounds like an awesome combo!
I'm going do on my too but kinda complicated
You can do it! Not too hard.
Hey bro you doing this your self
Yep, did it myself!
What offset on the rims for this 3.5 lift build?
I believe it was +22, but not positive.
Wow dude, that thing is a beast, badass too! How does it do with those huge tires and all the other mods with the 4.0? I managed to find myself a unicorn. 2004 WJ Loredo, 4.7 with only 32k miles on it. It was some dude's 2nd car and only came out in the snow. More than half the miles are open country roads. The 4.0 was my preference also, but this ran and sounded really good. And the interior, 90% mint! I just put a 2" lift with BFG All Terrain TA 245/65/17 on Rock Trix rims with a +12 offset. It looks amazing. The tire and rim combo fill out the wheel wells nicely. It's not nearly the beast yours is, but I do have an 03 Rubicon I'm working on. The Cherokee is my daily driver. Nice ride, great video. If those hood mounts for the lights ever fail M11 Offroad makes a decent set for $45, mine should be coming soon. Any suggestions on light pods?
Thanks so much man! Appreciate the compliments and you watching! It does great now that it’s regeared. Sounds like you have an awesome rig too! You on IG?
That all for the wj or both
The JKS and the Yukon boxes? It’s all for the JL 😎
Donelol
lol, done….until the next time it’s done….🤣
Nice work dude, the Dub looks good. I completely understand how much work all of this is. I've been so overwhelmed with content I have, that I haven't even released a video in a few months. Keep killing it though man.
Thanks man! I know you’re fully aware. Your rig looks killer by the way. Love seeing it out wheeling. Keep killing it yourself and let’s go wheeling together soon!
What the red one ❤❤❤
It was shipped to Kauai! Cool truck for sure.
Rough country is the worst quality shit you could buy. You did a nice job but unfortunately you bought the econo box shocks. You're going to regret that in 10,000 mi
Thanks for the input, and for watching. This isn’t my personal vehicle. It was a customer build and everyone has different budgets. For this basic lift, it was a decent kit and the customer still loves it 25k miles later.
Looks great 👍
Thanks man! It’s a good time.
Love the WJ. How do you like those SX2?
Thanks man! Love em so far. Badass tire and reasonable price.
@@PSFGarage I was toren between those and the Baja boss MT
Definitely been a while! I made out to sand hollow with my WJ and had a blast, can’t wait to go back
Rad! My plan is to bring it down for trail hero this year.
You still running the radius arm set up and the rough country arms ? Why you change axles
Still the same suspension setup. I upgraded the axles! Same axles just gears and lockers.
The Durango!!!
Thanks for watching! I’ll keep cruising on the Durango too!
How did you support the front of your fenders? I have mine trimmed similarly and it’s pretty flimsy.
I built tube brace that runs from the bumper back to the core support. It’s more support for the headlights, but helps brace the fenders. Hope that helps!
Cool place!
Totally! Love it there!
2019 wrangler unlimited sport, ESS stopped working / light came on. Swapped out main and aux battery, (both were factory and aux was bad, causing a parasitic drain on main). Everything is working except the ESS light is still on and start/stop disabled. I’ve checked if fuses were properly set, reset ECU twice, checked everything mentioned on the video. Apparently there are like 24 things that could cause the ESS to deactivate. I’ve read on forums that sometimes after changing the batteries the ESS light can go off after regular driving for a few days. Would love to figure this out without having to go to a dealership but running out of potential causes.
Sorry for the late reply. Hard to tell but hope you figured this out!
Those spacers drop the differential, they do not raise it.
Guess it depends on how you look at it. I see what you’re saying though. Thanks!
Whats the latest on this
Just posted a quick update today. Still cranking on it. It’ll be running and wheeling soon!
@@PSFGarage sweet. Cant wait
I had the same problem with my 12s winch. Warn suggests to remove the chassis connection that sits inside the chassis( near the winch ends) then you would be able to fasten all 8 without any problems!
Appreciate the feedback!
Do you rub with those 33 or did any trimming ?
Slightest rubbing in the front body mount at full lock. I did trim a little inner fender I believe too.
appreciate the video!
Appreciate you checking it out!
My brother just change the auxiliar battery on my 2021 Jeep wrangler and it won’t turn on 😩
Hmm 🤔
I have 2021 Jlu 2.0 … do I have the same setup with Ess?
Honestly, not sure but I believe so?
Do u need any paperwork or anything like that on ur vehicle to go there?
Nope!
Awesome video, I hate the auto stop on my 2023 Wrangler JL. Does the Aux battery run your A/C and radio and brake light etc.. when in auto shutdown mode? Oh yea, Subbed!
The aux battery didn’t seem to affect anything else for me, don’t think it does any of that, but there’s other systems for sure. Thanks for watching and subscribing!!
Excellent video! You got me pumped up with your vids I was thinking of regearing my stock axels and add support to run 40’s and see how long they last before they break. But definitely do aggressive trails. Or should I just go straight to the 60 ? Thanks 🙏
Thanks so much! Guess it depends on the stock axles. Are we talking Dana 30 and 35? If so, probably not worth spending the money to beef them up for 40’s. Dana 44’s? Might be worth beefing them up. That’s the plan on my JL. Otherwise, might be worth upgrading to some 1-ton axles and upgrading those. Probably the better option long term! Great question and thanks for watching!!
@@PSFGarage thanks brother I appreciate the knowledge. I hope to hit KOH next year!
Thanks for this. First video I looked at that explained what the issue is and how to fix it. Question: what mileage were you at when that issue came up? I'm at about 50K.
Thanks for watching! I think this was about 54k but can’t recall exactly.
@@PSFGarage Yep. I'm at 51K (2019 MOAB). I think I'm gonna go with a relocation conversion kit. Appreciate the insight! 🤜🏾🤛🏼👍🏾
@PSFGarage Getting ready to put one in the JLU right now😊 Glad to see it's super easy. Question about your 12 volt plug, does it allow your vehicle to pick up Android Auto via the phone through that setup?
Sorry for the late reply! Honestly, I have an iPhone so not sure but all the plug is for is power when the jeep is off. It was originally intended to use a flat tow setup but I abandoned that idea and stuck with using my trailer. Great question though!
Just for future and anyone else that is trying to do this disconnect the wires that are attached to the negative terminal and wrap them with electric tape before you start this job and disconnect the negative terminal. If not you still have power and that's why he blew the fuse.
Agreed, great feedback. I disconnected everything and thought they were far enough a part they would touch, but they did, and yep, blew the fuse.
Shocked how much rust a 4 y/o truck can have. I'm assuming that was the reason for the cutting wheel? I've heard mixed reviews on RC lifts. Nice tutorial vid though, thank you!
Yeah, this was a truck that came from Canada. Little more salt on the roads there. Thanks for watching!
I’m a fan of Hutchinson - through and through. ‘ Real talk : the most enjoyable part of this segment is seeing that you allow the little one to participate with you. If 1 in 3 fathers followed suit, America would be a much better place - for us all. The thing is ; the, typical, person can not or will not fathom the gravity of just how important this quality time is. 👍🏽🍺
Thanks so much man, this was really nice to read. I appreciate this and couldn’t agree with you more 😊
Daammm no way this is by my house that’s crazy. Maybe I’ll run into you one day 🙌🏽. But I do want to lift my Tacoma 3.5 front and back. I’m on a 2.2 with 35’s lol
Nice man! 2.2 with 35’s sounds awesome!
@@PSFGarage would I need to get extended brake lines?
