I've had some primers become quite hydrophobic before. Mainly Rustolium 2x. A Matt clear coat from Vallejo fixed it.

I use "belton" premium Graffiti art for MDF, the MFD will not suck it in and the paint is realy smooth for Graffiti paint :)

I use a single stage airbrush. It was recommended to me by the owner af alclad metallics. Never looked back. It has jars that the paints go in. Works for everything I need it for. People think they aren't accurate because pressure can't be well controlled on the fly. This isn't true.
I've never tried one before but as this journey that I'm on progresses, I'll probably be there soon! Especially if I do stupid things like I did the other day! Thanks for tuning in!
I hate painting MDF....tried it a few times and the result was always crappy....
Remove the wrap, wipe off with a damp cloth or a wet wipe, spray with primer. Works for me. You could also spray it with varnish if you have no spray primer.
I have had usually good success really! This issue was due to rushing the process due to outside influences and bad reactions..... It happens and I'm definitely over it and moving forward..... just with a new airbrush that I didn't need to buy right now!:) (psst.... btw...... the new airbrush is awesome and I'm really surprised that I didn't do it sooner!) Both great suggestions that I've done in the past but.... I think that I have a new concept that I'm working out with this stuff. Update for you that is very interesting...... The spray primer and all consecutive coats of paint and ink have peeled off of the areas where the magnets are on this stuff. Some of those little guys have up to 6 magnets in them.... not sure if there is any correlation to my troubles the other day but I thought it was an fascinating symptom that I've not encountered before. Thanks for tuning in!
Some people say to use a sealer on the bare material. I've found that spraying some varnish on it before applying primer/paint helps me a lot. Prevents soaking, and makes it less likely to chip. Did a large board very recently with the bulk of it being MDF and it's held up well and the paint went on like a breeze. Hope that helps.

It seems that I seem to thrive on trouble and have a open-mindedness to try out something a little weird which worked out and will be in the finish video soon! Talk about happy mistakes indeed! It looks fine :) I have no airbrush but that is very inspirational for my Zone Mortalis terrain.
To be honest... I only learned how to airbrush due to lack of patience really. :) all of these things can be done with a brush for sure! Thanks for tuning in!

Instead of making the gangs custom(10)x2 vs 20, why not add some dice rolls? You could use the crew rules for ambush or sneak attack (with a caveat to make the "custom" crew size more reasonable). An example is that the attacking team needs to keep the underdog status, so they could stack activations if they only bring Cawdor juves or they could bring a few heavy hitters and have a similar amount of activations to the defender. When there's a number next to "custom" I like to just split the number, rounding up. Sweet Karloth sculpt too!

Top notch boards my man. These are so beautifully detailed, with excellent attention to the weathering powders. It looks like the whole thing is covered in years of dust, rust, grime, and slime. What an amazing set of boards to play over....bring on the infected stealers and monstrosities.

What a great mix of modularity with semi large set pieces!!!! The board possibilities are in the thousands if you consider each tile has 4 different facings!!!!
Yep! Glued down tiles or modular? I left that question hanging out there in the video to spark possibilities! I do both of course but..... I'm crazy so there's that... But it really is amazing all of the complex board setups that you can get! Storage becomes the question at that point really! Thanks for popping in man!

So I was imagining a "table" set up where you had your sump sea stuff set up, then at the top of the wall you had some more boards going back, then behind those boards you had your Hivewall stuff, then more built up stuff behind that, maybe have the ash wastes and some more of your sump wall on the other side of some toxic water features. admittedly that would be the sort of thing that's a whole room and would only ever be practical to set up for a photo shoot or as a tournament where people are only using a few boards in a given game
It's like your in my mind! Remember though.... most of that stuff was in Primus, this is Secundus which will have to be fleshed out in all of those areas you've mentioned....... which may happen......... :) Thanks again for stopping by!
@@jdinthesumpsea1560 I could easily imagine the secundus stuff being under the sump, or if you had trains set up on two different ash waste boards in different rooms, so that you would have to battle through the wastes to get to the train cross the wastes then battle through different waste boards to reach secundus...
again.... it's like you're in there! The Secundus map has me absolutely stoked for all of the possibilities AND.......... there's monsters lurking about as well!

Secundus is the coolest environment to me not sure why but I love the story and models but guys WOW you are the best terrain creator on RUclips and are a huge inspiration if I ever get the money I am copying your board as best I can

Yoo, this is great. I'm getting ready to so something similar, so it's a perfect timing for me to see this. Brilliant stuff. You did really great work assembling the scraps of plastic and various materials to make the generator and structures. I freakin love the mod podge/sand mixture technique; it's wild how good that looks. I've been collecting plastic, cardboard, and small metal and wood scraps for over a year now to make my own grimy dystopian sci-fi game board with scatter terrain. I'm inspired now. Subbed!
Thank you! I have been collecting things to use in building terrain for many years and you never know what pieces you might want to use on a future project! I'm glad I could provide some inspiration! The sand and mod podge was a technique I heard of from somewhere but I can't remember exactly where. I was happy with the result also! Good luck on your builds!

It is just a hair too dark. For example at 5:16 any shadows completely mask the surface. If it's an editing problem, perhaps try lowering the contrast. However if it's a problem during filming that won't help. Try a light diffuser perhaps? But janky, but could literally be putting a lamp in the room and putting a white piece of paper between it and the rest of the room. Hard lighting vs soft lighting. It does, create a moody and dynamic image, which I think is what your going for, but it's a just a hair too far. At least during the time lapses.

What powders are you using?

Excellent job! Love the terrain! Your filming skills are really improving. The lighting was good and the speed appropriate for the segment. But you mentioned “The Pit” card at the beginning without ever telling us what the scenario card actually says. It might’ve been nice to know what that was about since it clearly was the inspiration for this piece. Just some constructive (I hope) thought to consider in future videos.
