Holy shit JD you knocked this one out of the park. I only have the kelermorph ready to prime and one Neophyte hybrid (Got free one month ages back) My youngest at 7 though I gave him the 9th edition core book I have and he went Tyranid bonkers and fell in love.
I know exactly what you mean only with Hero Quest and my son. I have no idea when I'm going to get a chance to paint that stuff either! I hope I could give you a bit of a jolt with the videos though...:) Thanks for tuning in!
What about making a two tile board that is even more vertical than that are stacked at least 4 high to separate the two levels. You could put some mechanical/industrial stuff on the bottom of the higher tile with maybe some kind of a habitable structure hanging under the upper level as well (something like the sump city radio pod). Then having stairs as well as an elevator and a crane connecting the two levels. I figure with that kind of height it could still be a playable board. Leave the lower level mostly empty but with a bunch of scatter, maybe set it up as a market.
Some awesome boards you’re knocking out! What’s the dark bluey green your airbrushing on? I’m about to start painting up some of the scenery that comes with the box and it looks a great match to the colours used by GW
so..... combination of drab green prime, shadow prime with dioxon purple ink mixed with drab grey primer, then sprayed with a thinned down pthalo green/blue ink. There can be any mix of these of various companies. I use liquitext inks and stynylrez primers, but the real trick is to keep it on the colder color spectrum.

I am kinda exited by Hive Secundus and I don't even play Necromunda.. Will pick up a copy if my LGS doesn't run out of them instantly.
