    I sometimes look at items that have inscriptions, because it seems less likely to be an autopen or other forgery.

      @SteveZarelli 27 дней назад

      The strategy reduces the risk but does not totally eliminate it. Many times I have seen autopen signatures with a forger adding a dedication to make it look authentic.

    What about a Group Photo w/X-15? It has Rushworth (USAF), McKay (NASA), Peterson (Navy), Walker! (NASA), Armstrong (NASA), White (USAF). Mine is in frame and different than others I found online, I cannot tell if print/signatures are copy BUT I did find others found online were different Signature placement + variation in Signatures. Surely The 1st on the Moon, the Fastest, + the Highest make mine desired if it is real (need to crack frame).

      X-15 multi-signed are great. I have seen a number of them over the years. However, they also occasionally used rubber stamps on these. Use my email opinion service for a review: zarellispaceauthentication.com/services Select "Apollo 11 Crew" for $20.

    I bought a Framed Autographed Picture Advertised as a FACIMILE! It is a Pro-Framed 1960's Era Pic of the X-15 w/Rushworth, McKay, Peterson, Walker, Armstrong and White each w/thier Signatures above. I noticed via reverse image search the same signed photograph but w/different Signature organization/position and one was "Verified by you 😉" This leads me to believe I may have at worse got exactly what was Advertised, at best? The Real Thing? Or A Copy of The Real Thing.... I haven't cracked the frame and for $35 I got a nice picture at least, or the deal of a lifetime!

    I have always valued your opinion on space authenticity, and your input in general over the years, Steve. If I was getting anything space-related authenticated, I'd certainly choose your services, or that of an established auction house (Sotheby's, Christies, etc.). I don't see the attraction of the likes of PSA, Beckett, JSA, or other graders that the market believes are paramount, as you never really know who you'll get, and are dealing with such volume that they cannot truly offer an accurate appraisal. Thank you for the upload, and I hope you're well. 👍

    Hello! Thank you, it was very interesting! I am from Russia, Saint Petersburg. In the 80s and 90s, I was very interested in the history of the development of the space programs of the USSR and the USA. I have a lot of books, stamps, and newspapers from the first decade of the space age in my collection. In particular, there are many articles from Soviet newspapers about all the flights under the Mercury, Gemini and Apollo programs. In the mid-90s, I wrote letters about my passion to John Glenn, John Young, Neil Armstrong, Sally Ride and Norman Thagard, asking them to send me an autograph as a souvenir. To my great joy, they all personally replied to me. I sent all the letters to the Houston Flight Control Center. The photos sent back to me were all with text on the back and in NASA envelopes. I am very grateful to the unknown employee of the post office in Houston who forwarded my letter to John Glenn in Washington. John Glenn sent me a letter on paper with a watermark of the U.S. coat of arms and a large black-and-white autographed photo. By the way, the envelope was the official one of a U.S. senator. Neil Armstrong's autograph can be viewed on my channel. Eternal memory to the pioneers of space. Good luck!

In my collection, I have three Apollo 11 crew autographed envelopes. How can I tell if any of them are insurance covers or not?

    • @ZarelliSpaceAuthentication
      @ZarelliSpaceAuthentication Месяц назад

      You can't be certain unless the cover came with provenance documents from an astronaut or has an astronaut's annotation on the back. In short: Prior to the mission they signed stacks of covers. Some were given away to space workers and other astronauts prior to the flight. Those are NOT insurance covers. Some were set aside and held by the family as "insurance." Those are insurance covers. So you can't tell just from the type of cover if it was insurance or not.

    • @rushdoulati2710

      @ZarelliSpaceAuthentication Thank you for the clarification. The three that I obtained was from the collection of Houston's Post Master at the time. His name was Grenville Elder. One of the covers is addressed to him, the 2 others are not addressed. I will look on the back of the cover to see if there are any annotations. A question for my knowledge. If they are or not insurance covers , what realistic market value would you place on them? Thank you.

    Steve, I think you're missing the entire point of OOS. It's a quick opinion service, its not perfect, they're giving a base opinion that even they say IS NOT REFLECTIVE OF TPA. They literally say that! Start your own group if you don't like it, and nobody really cares what you think. If you cannot read the rules and get the basic idea of why these things exist, then you are insanely misguided.

    • @ericabneri903
      @ericabneri903 Год назад

      Why would they let randos fight every opinion? It would waste everyone's time. Feel free to waste your time, YOU'RE out of control bashing a 99% free service. GTFO.

    • @ZarelliSpaceAuthentication
      @ZarelliSpaceAuthentication Год назад

      Eric, of course they will not always be in sync with the TPAs, and no authenticator is perfect. My criticism is not for making occasional mistakes. The issue is that when they are informed that they are marking things "safe" that would not pass major TPAs, at least one mod refuses to hear it and boots you for bringing it up. And despite what the fine print may be, many participants there are operating under the illusion they are getting professional quality opinions from that group and in some cases they are not. And now I have been told they are charging for opinions. So, they are now a defacto professional authentication group and whatever wiggle room there is in the "fine print" is meaningless. People are paying for a service and it can't be a "base opinion" whatever that means. (I can't check these things myself because I have been blocked.) Your comment to me was more disrespectful than anything I wrote to that OOS mod and I could have deleted it in a second. But unlike him, I'll let you have your piece and won't block you. Thanks for watching.

    In the WW2 memorabilia collection world, there's an ongoing discussion about the signing of formal Knight's Cross award documents. Some of these very high quality parchment documents were signed personally by Adolf Hitler by an ever worsening trembling hand with a decreasing overall size of the signature towards the end in 1945. Now, some of these documents show a perfect 1930ies style Hitler signature until the end of the war and many collectors and dealers say it's an autopen! There are however 3 postwar reports by German officers who met a calligrapher of the Reichsdruckerei working at the Führerbunker signing these documents on behalf of Hitler. Nontheless, some collectors and authors continue to this very day to say that the documents with the perfect, seemingly always identical signature were signed by an autopen machine. Until now, at least in the field of German ww2 memorabilia, noone has been able to prove the existence of an autopen machine in use at the Reich Chancellery at the end of the 1930ies/beg. 1940. Btw, there's absolutely no "quivering" in the A.H. signatures (on the documents 1939-1945. Is the existence of an autopen machine from the late 1930ies/early 1940ies possibly proven?

    I have a personalized young Donald Trump photo with name of who it’s being given to “best wishes in your new career” and I understand that a personalized message with a signature is more reliable

      It gives you more to analyze, but Trump often used secretaries. You should get it checked out.

      Seems unusually inexpensive and a high risk autograph. COA carries no weight. I would get it checked out by a third party.

    Anyone buying an autograph need to really know that signature. I have lost count of the number of sellers I have contacted because they were selling either a secretarial Andy Griffith or an outright forged one. I think in the years of doing this maybe three contacted me to thank me and take down the item. One guy who actually had 99.9 % good stuff, but had a well-known secretarial Griffith blocked me! Positive feedback I agree is worthless in my humble opinion.
