I wonder why would it not run??? like I see how it might not start if kept outside without an oil heater, but engine generates a tonn of heat you know... it would run in -100c for over 10 hours before actually shutting off because air intake freeze and it suffocate itself

Why does it shift only after 2000rpm when engine cold? It kind of shifts normaly only when engine reaches 80 degrees.

eff mercedes. Lada is for such weather. Ford , chrysler, Dodge 4runner , Sequoia, suburban, tahoe, expedtion, grand wagoneer L , etc.

All you need to do is use recirculation vent setting at least periodically which will make it get way hotter for windshield and whole car and the car coolant temp will increase as well win win. Then turn it off if it gets any condensation. The automatic setting for max AC is recirculate but heater is not automatically on that. People don't know this one cool trick lol.

turn on the AC in winter it works like a dehumidfire it removes the moisture on windows and there whil be no ice on windows

of coruse the good ol' W212 can handle this without a problem, these things are indestructable

What most people doesn`t realize, is that when the snow is semi compacted by snowmobiles and other, like in this case, it`s worse than 4 feet of snow.

No one is driving his car in eco mode. This is why you are having issues with ice on the inside because the AC & Heat is not in full power mode

for extreme cold temparature drive you heve put something if front of the radiator...

I drive my ML350 Buetec regularly at temperatures like that and lower here in Canada, works just fine with 260‘000 km on the Tach!😄🇨🇦

Preheat the engine with a block heater for much better short range fuel economy.

My "blue efficiency" OM651 E250 has a similar consumption, the pre-heat is calculated together with the drive.

If you drive highway at low temp its better to use second windsheld thus you save heater for front and legs

parking heater which works when the engine is running would help a lot

Here in Canada we usually put a piece of cardboard in front of the radiator with small holes cut in it so the vehicle can get up to temperature, especially with Diesels.
