GM Vortec LS style water pump replacement.
The daily driver started leaving small puddles under it after a drive. So I knew the day was coming the water pump was going to have to be replaced. GM made the LS style motors right and replacing the water pump is not a hard task. There are only a hand full of bolts that need to be taken off, and fighting the coolant hoses is half the battle. There are several other videos on RUclips that have better camera angles and such, but I just wanted to show with you that with a few simple hand tools, some flea market pans, and a morning you can replace your water pump yourself and save a few bucks.

Duplicolor Vinyl and Fabric Spray. Let's see if it will save the OBS carpet.
Просмотров 30316 часов назад
I was on my way to throw away the carpet from the OBS project. It was covered in more stains than I had ever seen and were so bad I had no idea what they were. But, after my friend soaked it down and hit it with his heated power washer it was coming around. There were still some set in stains from rust nothing would take out. So I figured for $13 a can I would give Duplicolor Fabric and Vinyl s...
Husky 52 inch toolbox review

I told you after I put some miles on the new toolbox I would let you know what I thought about it. I picked up the 52 inch Husky toolbox this summer and have used and abused it since. I was able to condense several small toolboxes all into one and couldn't be happier. The paint, drawer slides, and wooden top have held up just fine, and the power strip is nice so all my battery chargers are not ...
Removing the interior of the GMT 400 1998 Silverado Project

The interior of the OBS project is in pretty good shape; except that nasty carpet. Seriously I don't know what happened to that poor carpet but it has to go. So with a few hand tools, about two hours of work, and a little sweat we gut the project truck and get to see what was hiding under that nasty stained up carpet. Wish i saw this video earlier. I went off someone's else video and advice where they only use about 2 feet of fuel line and do all the new fittings and cutting in the engine bay. Is there any difference/benefit doing it that way vs. going all the way up from the filter?

      Going from the lines in the engine bay may be cheaper since it's a short run. But if I can work in an open space, I'll pick it everytime.

      @joshuamendoza5600 it was in a large construction van. I suggest going to the junkyard and digging under the carpet. There are a lot of connections going from the front to the back. Or you can always hit up amazon and search for a 12 or 15 connector. Or two 6 pin connectors, etc.

    • @macsboneyardbuilds
      @macsboneyardbuilds 15 дней назад

      @2015_Rubicnn remember the key itself has a security feature, which goes to the bcm, then the pcm. So if you kept the column and key, bcm and pcm I suppose you could.

    • @2015_Rubicnn
      @2015_Rubicnn 15 дней назад

    • @macsboneyardbuilds
      @macsboneyardbuilds 15 дней назад

      @2015_Rubicnn it all works together. The key makes the bcm happy, the bcm makes the pcm happy. It would honestly just be easier to eliminate vats and not try and fight keeping it.

    • @2015_Rubicnn
      @2015_Rubicnn 15 дней назад

      @macsboneyardbuilds Yes, I know it all works together. What I meant was that the key is also needed to make the security system happy. Deleting the VATS isn't a big deal, I'll just disable it and be done.

    • @macsboneyardbuilds
      @macsboneyardbuilds 15 дней назад

      @2015_Rubicnn wasn't trying to come off offensive if it was taken that way. The old pass key system had a chip in the key, then they went to a chip in the tumbler. Now the modern keys have responders in them. So I was just saying to make the bcm happy the tumbler would have to be happy, that's all. Good luck on your build!

      Sorry about that, jump starting is really easy. 1) you must have over 2 volts of power or it won't recognize the correct polarity. If you are under 2 volts it won't work. 2) hook red to +, black to -. 3) if you see two clamps and a flashing engine symbol you are good to go. If you see arrows pointing left and right switch your cables. If you see nothing you need to charge your battery since it's below the minimum allowed voltage. Hope this helps

      Over charging alternators is usually caused by the voltage regulator on the alternator. I couldn't see 3 different alternators having bad regulators. I would love to, but I barely have enough time to tinker on my own projects. It may seem intimidating, but with a little time and some trial and error, you can do it.

    I should’ve gone with an ls swap but I went with a pro flo 4 setup on my vortec 350. It runs good though. I’ve driven it on 1500 mile road trips without any issues. If that motor goes I may do an ls swap. I’ll probably get the pro flo setup for the ls too

      There is absolutely nothing wrong with a good 350. I would have stayed with the 350 longer if the trans hadn't gone out on me. That was the domino that fell that set me into motion to do my swap.

      As long as it gets 13 smiles per mile it's a win 👍

      Not sure on that one. Could try it, but I would be careful; it may brick it and make it inoperable.
