@@332ARA it did not restrict vacuum at all. I only put maybe 50 miles on that truck last season since I started the OBS project. But there was a very small amount it did catch.

@@Squarebody_Builds it's a bracket for the vans. It's flat and can be mounted about anywhere.

@BrokenDragontooth it will recognize being hooked up to the battery on its own. A little engine looking icon appears on the screen. If the battery is below 2 volts it won't recognize the battery. If it's that low, it needs to be put on a charger, not a jump pack.

It is not recommended. Can it be done, probably. Would I do it, no due to your car battery slowly draining. On bench harness you can read, write, modify and your power supply will be constant. Loss of power during a write process can mess up your pcm.

@ManuelGarcia-j6d thanks for checking out the channel. There are different ways to do everything. Several motor mount options, radiator options, wiring options, etc. But, the concept is all the same and pretty straightforward. Good luck with your build and keep after it.

Yes, it's a dark grey with the machined lip. I've just always called that 'tone' gunmetal.

Mine has been going strong since day one. A bunch of people have problems, but they are usually trying to jump a completely dead battery. The instructions say it has to have at least 2 volts to operate. If you're under 2 volts it needs charged, not jumped.

I forgot to say in the video. If the battery is completely dead, it will not recognize the polarity and not allow a jump start. You need to put the battery on a charger and get a little voltage in it so it can see the polarity.

Those run to the back of the truck. Exactly what they contain without a schematic I don't know. But I'm sure they are probably fuel pump, brake lights, etc. that's towards the back of the truck. They are not touched during an LS Swap. And if your replacing the harness or just cleaning up your engine bay keeping your small block they will stay the same as well.

No problem. Lt1swap.com has a spread sheet showing what to remove from the stock harness. There isn't much that needs to be removed.

You can, tunerpro has the capabilities, and if you are knowledgeable enough on tuning, you can do it. But, hp tuners, while more expensive, is more user friendly and a one stop shop for reading, adjusting, and writing.

All of the dash works...minus speedometer. It's still an old cable driven model, so instead of dropping coin on a new one, the old cellphone speedometer works just fine.

@joshuaavila8317 i looked into it too and heard it can be done, but you will need some adapters due to different torque converter size and other small differences. I turned my working 98 4l60 into the junk yard, and they gave me credit towards the trans that came out of the truck I got the motor from. It cost very little to get the correct trans, that way I didn't have to worry about chasing issues with mismatched model years. But yes, it can be done.

Yes, if the polarity is correct, an engine will appear on the screen. If the battery is completely dead, it will not detect the polarity and will not power up the box.

And I found that if it cannot Jumpstart the car the first time wait and listen for the sound it will make and try again but of course do not leave any electrical things on including leaving the door open the car battery usually needs to be somewhat charged before it will stop being inherently a draw on the power going to the starter

Obdx is the scanner. It was made for ls swaps in mind so it can read and write to ls pcms. The box is a hide a key magnet box. Any plastic box would work. It is just something to hide the wires.

Check out the full video on my page. It's super easy and you only need a few things to do it.

From the pcm, there is a wire for the check engine light when you thin the harness. Google search 'led with mounting screw' drill the size hole that coordinate with the led you buy, hook up the wire to the pcm and ground the other. It stays very dimly lit all the time since the led is so sensitive. But when the light is thrown, she lights up like a Christmas tree. Hope that helps.

I'm torn between both looks myself. But the rally wheels didn't go anywhere, so I can have both looks depending on my mood.

It's the standard duty extra deep model. The top is 24 1/2 deep, top drawer is 22 1/2 deep. Hope that helped.
