I can't speak for the Chinese guitars, but the ones that come out of Japan, Indonesia, and South Korea are excellent quality from what I've seen and played.

No reason to not be able to use nickel. I would ask for enough money back to cover changing the hardware to nickel. Especially if you are paying $600 instead of $300. Chrome looks cheap.

Nice case. I did that to my new truck. I hit it with a hammer so I was the 1st person to put a dent in it instead of 1 of my worker's doing it.

That case was 300 bucks! 😂 Nice fit Mattias that thing is like my Dean ML case it needs a lot of room and it's 10" taller and ten pounds heavier then every other case those cases are a beast load to carry I blow my back picking it up lol" Awesome Gibson hard case but man they are expensive woo! The guitar looks good but by the time you finish replacing parts... you may as well buy a brand new SG because they are very affordable for what you get.. And the playing experience is true, because it's the real deal.

I got a set for Christmas and getting the string to not slip required extreme tightening of the locking screw. I’ll put it this way, they ain’t Schallers. They also don’t cost $170.

My first comment is, if someone wants to go work in a guitar factory, I take my hat off to them, no matter where in the world that may be! Next, I'll say that I bought a Chinese-made Rickenbacker 12 string copy and I couldn't be happier with it! (I do also have a genuine Rickenbacker bass, so I didn't feel too compromised in buying the 12 string copy). Lastly....my Firefly 338 was a real gamble of a purchase but this guitar also delights the heck out of me! I have many other American & German-made guitars and I'm happy to report they all get along fine together. Humans should take note!

I do my best to avoid buying Chinese made guitars. I do own a few but I have turned down guitars that i wanted because they were made in China. It is hard to buy anything these days that doesn't say made in China. But I do my best to stay away from Chinese made products when possible.

There would be some crazy person who would glue that together, it'll hold perfectly and then they'll say; "now let's put some splines in it."

I think youtubers are getting a little too hung up on Cathy Zhong. I've bought a half dozen Chibsons off Ebay from sellers with lots of 100% positive feedback, and the guitars are immaculate by chibson standards. A little fret polishing, new strings, adjust the action, file the nut slots a bit and they're excellent instruments. They're even already in the USA, cleared customs, and ship in a few days. I'm not knocking Cathy, but I suspect she's selling guitars from the same factory as many Chibsons are.

It’s also got a strap lug in the neck heel end which is a bloody stupid place to locate it.

Hi Mattias, normally I am very critical to most headstock repairs on RUclips because most of the repairs in my opinion is done in the wrong way, how ever... you did this pretty much the same way that I do it, byt only if the break is similar to the break in this video, a classic headstock-break will need splines and all that but this dont need that because you have a big surface to glue on and its not as much tension on the break as if the break would be on the other side of the nut. Rubberband is really great for this type of jobs, only thing I would do different is that I would use threaded clamps instead of the hand tightening models, because those are not reliable enough and over time they loose pressure, but in this case I think only the rubberband would do the trick. Well done sir.

I dabble in the watch making realm because I plan to retire from the automotive and commercial truck trade and transition into horological trades or whoreology or watch mechanic as I like to call it. And in that realm you find what’s called Super Clones. Counterfeit watches that are very difficult to detect because they are built by a master watch maker. And I feel bad for those artisans trying to provide for a family in a consumer centric market place. I can appreciate the value of mastering the skill and technique required to produce such a piece of work. And what does the marketplace do with such talent? Use to manufacture counterfeit items. How sad. No one appreciates craftsmanship, just brands and hype that’s where they find value?! It’s so confusing. If you can make something so well that it’s considered a masterpiece but it’s used to deceive people into believing that the object is something it is not. What a lousy underwhelming disappointment of a paradox. Oh well. ©️-Ya

Id let it dry out for 2 years depending where you live. When the sound gets better Then start with some moister. Its also ok to give it a very fine mist spay about every 6 months. Very very light. If you don't it will show its shrinking by warping around the bride on the big e string side. If that gets pad then you should always keep it in the case with the moister pack.
