If a guy doesnt have any engineering background, how does one go about learning it to be able to discover these relationships? Is it just an understanding you developed from many years of knob wiggling or did you have a background or learn from a helpful resource? I am long time wiggler but have no idea about diodes or why you would ground something for an effect! Anyway, gonna rig this one up after work today haha! Blessings 🙏
Well, I have no special education or training in electronics or anything like that. What I know I have just gathered through experimentation and watching almost every Pulsar tutorial video I can find. SR Wilson’s videos are amazing and gave me lots of ideas-great guy. Also, if you have not watched Vlad’s tutorial videos on each of Pulsar’s modules, then check those out. The various written Manuel’s for Pulsar should be read as well. Have fun exploring!

Sure. Pressing the loop reset allows you to place the crash event at different points in the beat. If you want it on the “one,” press it on the one and then it will loop and always hit on the one. If you want it on the “three,” press on the three and the loop will reset and all the subsequent crashes will be timed to the three. Let me know if you need more clarification! :)

This thing seems impossible to use.
Why do you say so? What do you mean? Pretty intuitive MIDI implementation. As a stand alone semi-modular it has a ton of fun stuff to explore with nothing more than itself…but…also super fun with modular stuff too :)
Im a big fan of SOMA synths and just borrowed a friends Pulsar thinking I would explore before I bought one. I quickly realized Im in over my head! (I dont do modular synthesis or anything and have enjoyed Soma's stuff because it's really all about exploration and just finding unexpected sounds that anyone can play, and this clearly has a much steeper learning curve). I tried to follow along but was totally lost within 4 minutes LOL. Thats why you try before you buy! Back to my Digitakt!
The Pulsar was my first voyage into Modular as well! (I also love Elektron for the precision).
Fantastic idea, I sometimes patch from clock-pulse converter- reverb in for a ‘free’ voice but this is a playable extension, I confess I don’t often use the cv pads but I will do now… many thanks

Does this work for op-1 field? I followed the tutorial step by step and when I go to "item" synth all I get is a sample that says "op-1 patch"
I’m not sure. I don’t own the field. Sorry I couldn’t help!
What does the diode do to the circuit from the CV pad?
Right! I did not address that in this video. Ok, so when you put your finger (or coin) on the CV pad it will send voltage to the S/H circuit. This will hold whatever voltage that is currently being produced by the SHAOS module. So rather than the bass module playing a series of different pitches it will just play whatever the pitch is that corresponds to the Held voltage from the SHAOS module. I demonstrate this functionality in my video about melodic bass lines. Sorry for the late response!

Hi first of all thanks for all this tremendous videos. I got the pulsar couple of weeks ago… crazy story heppened and I got this thing which I dreamed of since it’s release. a quick first questin: i tap the add button to listen to each sound of the module manually, but after couple of taps ( third or forth I think ) a long release of the sound comes. IAfter that I can tap it for same amount of times and the same thing happens again. I tried all sort of things to stop that, but hadn’t any success. If I trigger them with the lfo e.g. that doesn‘t happen. why is that?! What is that long release and how can I turn it off? And I would love to see a video, to make a simple beat just without any patching. Do you think you can do that? Much love and support from munich Germany

So I have the OP-1 and the OP-1 field, this patch works great as demonstrated on the OP-1, but I'm sad to report that when downloaded to the OP-1 Field, it just repeats robot voice "OP-1 PATCH" over and over again. I guess the field doesn't recognize this secret code in this .aiff Really cool though.
