I have a SPECIAL "FERBF" DISCOUNT code from 22nd Nov to 2nd Dec with dronefishing.co.nz which gives ya extra perks on top of the already discounted stuff! Just enter that code in under "coupon" section at checkout
Full details can be found here ruclips.net/user/shorts_rXITzzwtMQ?feature=share
Thanks Dave. Once again thank you for this great info! I hope you won't mind if i ask a couple of questions. I also have an Aeroo pro and just love it. What is the optimum time you would leave your line out if no bites detected. And i have also noticed the line drifts wildly away from the drop zone. What is the best weight sinker you would use. Love your channel! Keep up the good work
@RichardNorthover60 thanks mate!! Dunw if you saw but I have a special black friday sales discount code "FERBF" deal at dronefishing.co.nz if wanting to buy more gear!
@RichardNorthover60 and to answer your question re soaking baits I feel I don't know that myself 😂 sometimes 10 mins works sometimes 30 it depends how big the fish are i think and type of hook. Proper long line hooks "should" hold fish for ages but yea I think 30 minutes usually enough 🤔 as for moving baits. Ideally your baits shouldn't move! As I said in the vid try chain-linking sinkers or reduce no. Of hooks/trace to reduce drag. Try rubberband/cable tie your sinker prongs so they stay stuck, and also recently I've added about 50m of topshot mono to my reel. As mono absorbs swell much better that seems to have helped too! Thanks for the comment tho glad it helped!
@@fisheatrepeathaha yes I have just bought two drone lines from them. Looking forward to using them
@@fisheatrepeat awesome thanks for that Dave. I'll try those things. Hey, do you have a Patreon? Would love to support you
@RichardNorthover60 oh that's awesome!! And 👀 no I don't have one eh. I have thought about it, but I am lucky I have quite a good day job but that also means my editing time is limited only like to set one up if I'm giving something extra that's worthwhile not sure what yet maybe some unedited long form footage or something? Or Q&A idk but yea I don't want to just take people's money from patrion without giving something worthwhile! 🙂
If anyone hasn't used a discount code before, you enter "FERBF" in the "coupon" section at checkout on the dronefishing.co.nz website 👌

Nice one Dave !!
@DroneFishing-NZ cheers guys! And thanks for the support too!
Link for cooker please?
@ZiyadAlam1009 hey mate funnily enough I've upgraded from this as it was cooking far too slowly in the wind 😂 I've now bought a Cobb www.cobbgrillnz.co.nz/products/cobb-gas-combo-frying-pan-griddle-roast-rack-carry-bag
@@ZiyadAlam1009 but this is the cooker I'm using in that vid www.himart.co.nz/product/drhows_twinnkle_gas_bunner/?gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQiAi_G5BhDXARIsAN5SX7o0wK5UIrtXNixktKRw4I59Jfrcq3Bfv7BbbVnXXukjqeyeEfFI3lMaAhqTEALw_wcB
Hard luck bro. I had a bit of the same morning just pulling in shark after shark so wasn’t any good for the content side of things but still heaps of fun. I’ve noticed that the high wind fly with caution message came through and then the drone slowed down to like 5m per sec to try and stabilise the video footage. If you go into settings when you get that message then turn on the high wind mode it will have higher wind resistance and will not give a shit about the wind. This setting defaults back to off after every flight though so you will have to flick it back on every time.
@FishingAdventuresHB oh cheers for that bro!! I don't actually mind the warning it was mental high winds tho so it's all good if flying a bit slower but I'll keep that in mind
Not a mullet genius, it’s called a Jack-smelt. If you’re going to be doing any fishing, you need to become more familiar with what kinds of fish you are catching. Important not just from a legal aspect but on an ethical one too.
@ThuanDang-y3s 😂😂😂😂😂 cheers for the input, mate. This is in NZ. I've never heard of a jack smelt, and I just googled it's definitely a different fish, one we don't get in NEW ZEALAND. Please refer to our government details of yellow eyed mullet below 😅 niwa.co.nz/freshwater/nz-freshwater-fish-database/niwa-atlas-nz-freshwater-fishes/yelloweye-mullet This is definitely a yellow eyed mullet there's a whole video of this fishing trip Chur bro #kiwi 🤙
😢
@smack09 it's all good mate we can't all be right all the time... thankfully this time I know I'm right 😂👌
@@fisheatrepeat your actually right. My apologies for being so judgmental and a total douche. Jack smelt is a common catch in the surf in Southern California. Nevertheless I shouldn’t assume or have been condescending. Looks like I’ll wear the “ karen” title this time. Thanks for a very polite reply. It humbles and educates idiots like myself to do better.
@ThuanDang-y3s haha wow!! I think this is the 1st time I've ever received an apology from a -ve comment on RUclips 😂👏 good on ya for owning it. And no worries at all, I've certainly written enough stupid comments myself on social media not to judge! Appreciate ya coming back tho I've got many full videos on this channel where I take the piss of myself A LOT showing my failures haha feel free to have a watch and get a laugh 😂🤙 Tight lines again mate Cheers

Always respect a real show that shows that fishing has it ups and downs. Sometimes all we see is guys landing huge fish without the effort that goes in. Mad props
@@thomaswatson7182 thanks mate!!! If you're new to my channel... you'll find I include A LOT of my fk ups 😂👌 but that's what it's all about eh I love the fails and hopefully giving people a laugh. Fishing has never been about big fish and showing off that's for sure!
Compare with the Aeroo pro to fishingmen max i think it's way better how ever the only thing that suck with fishingmen max is the distance for an example the fishingmen max can only do 1.5 km where the Aeroo pro can do 10km a big advantage for Aeroo pro
@neoleyting5952 they're very different drones! One is designed for BIG payloads the other is designed for more casual drone fishing and filming thanks for watching!
Sick boat mad love for the old school stabis!

@denyswoodroffe490 this is just a live clip mate the full video takes time to edit Haha I can't ask my mates to film the entire live video unfortunately but will keep your comment in mind!
What are you sideways bro?
@officialWWM because bl00dy youtube now has portrait live videos... and in a hurry I didn't realize 😂 just throw your phone screen landscape and it's all good hahaha altho I also have no idea why it muted 🤦♂️ had a nightmare tbh this live video while fishing is hard work!! Zack reckons i shouldn't have touched it 😂 I think he was right fml
How come you are not using the safety clip for your line
@KevinOConnor-t3z hey mate! I started using it after this video actually. I hadn't used it tho mainly because I've fished with drones for many years, using tiny drones in very dodgy conditions, and more aware of when things can go wrong. I'm just able to take a little more risk! But using the safety release aid is smarter for sure and I do tend to use it now!
Thank you for a well put together u-tube. Well explained. Kiwi
@denyswoodroffe490 hey thanks very much!! I'm not sure if you've seen it or not but I have a far more in depth drone fishing tutorial video out now! I'd highly suggest giving it a watch if you haven't seen it already 👌 ruclips.net/video/T5NdLAqyYbc/видео.html

Hiw many lumens is the red light?
@zbassr2106 red light usually isn't used for long distance searching etc and you usually don't want it too bright Google suggests 8 candelas or aprox 100 lumen with 5m (16ft) range 👌 www.fenixlighting.com/products/fenix-hm70r-rechargeable-headlamp?srsltid=AfmBOopV-i1ysaj1OvbedvlvibidsnfJKZ0deL_zh_MDYwaXhf2PtNlL

What size slammer do you use?
@ScottD-g1n hey mate this is the slammer III 5500 it has a smaller spool than the 8500 etc but with 50lb line still holds plenty and is much lighter to use
Great video mate maybe one day you can match the fishing skills to your filming skills!
@rexpotter5869 cheers bruv! 🤣🤣 I doubt it.... my filming is getting better and better but my fishing seems to worsen... I think there's an inverse relationship 🤣💀

@@FishoDavo cheers bruv!!! Yea epic fish eh man it made some primo meals too!! And awww thansk mate Jinny says thanks too!
Thank you for using cotton bait line mate, some people use carbon fishing line which eventually will become plastic and stay in the ocean without biodegradation. ❤
@zedbruno6524 hey cheers!! To tell ya the truth i don't even like the cotton one eh. I wish there was a fully biodegradable option (if there is let me know!) Cause it can still get caught on birds etc too
What's is the maximum distance you have casted with baid and sinkers on the aeroo pro.Is it capable of casting between 600 to 800 meters.
@StephenBastian-s4u hey mate if by casting you mean flying out the baits and dropping them. I've done 600m. The flight capability is 10km but it would easily do 800m+ i will be doing some bigger drops the next time I go out. You just get less drops on a flight
absolute stunner.. wonder when the Aeroo Pro Max comes out haha!
@soulfate2 cheers mate!! Haha yea idk eh imagine what that will be 🤯
@@fisheatrepeat great video! Well yea let’s see what happens in a while Aeroo pro .. the ford ranger of drones in Nz lol
@soulfate2 definitely impressed by it eh have you got one already?
Line LB?
@darrychristhoper4595 hey mate! This depends a lot on personal preference and the fish you're targeting along with spool capacity of the reel and strand no. Of the braid! In this case I'm use 30lb tasline 8-strabd braid which is strong enough for me and fits enough on my very small spool. You may want heavier fighting bigger fish in deeper water tho. But you do want high quality 8+ strand braid so it is thinnest and behaves best with the rod etc Cheers for watching
Local bait, off the reef. Good luck 😂 hardest fishing in the world
@@FKTHESYSTEM063 haha cheers mate was epic day this one!!

So wading in deep mud to catch bass is the answer.so what happens if you get stuck? Or have a heart attack while your wading in the mud.Do you have any kind of insurance?
@MrPaulmclaren722 hey mate! I have a few answers to that 1. most importantly, before I came over from NZ Marcus advised me to get good quality waders that have separate shoes. The waders basically have waterproof socks/booties that you put your feet into. This means you have better movement and worst case you can actually take your feet out and then you could just get out on your hands and knees. 2. I'm an experienced fisherman brought up on the coast of north island of NZ. I've done floundering with spears and netting in mud and brought up on a farm with gumboots and mud haha I've Def been in worse! 3. If I have a heart attack I'm fkd 🤣 but at least there's reception here. I go fishing and hunting in NZ in the middle of NO WHERE and having a health event there would be much worse. Tho I do carry a PLB with me on dodgy trips. 4. I had travel insurance yes always have travel insurance and I'm a Kiwi (NZ) we have free health care inc from injuries overseas so that is never a worry on my mind thankfully 👌 Thanks for watching and great question!
@@fisheatrepeat to be honest with you what kind of insurance did your guide have? After all your just following his lead .I have seen Marcus in action and how deep he likes to be in the mud. I have stocking foot waders as well as many fishermen do ,you still have to undo boots by which time could be under a few feet of thick mud.then you will need to get yourself out of your waders.Good luck on that one.
@MrPaulmclaren722 I never felt unsafe, mate. He knows I'm a Kiwi, we were also mates and knew each other, back in NZ before I went over. we generally like to push the limits a bit. I'd never consider insurance, I'd never ever sue unless i wasn't comfortable in that situation. it doesn't even register in my mind. Note I'm a Food safety quality manager in my day job, I specialise in risk mitigation so I'm not saying I'm non-chalant just that I wouldn't have done it if I didn't feel sale and likewise Marcus wouldn't have pushed me. I've absolutely been in MUCH nastier mud by myself at night floundering which is far more dangerous. I have travel insurance and as I said if I was injured I'd take 4 weeks off work on ACC pay 👌 Saying all of the above. I'm not overly keen to fish/hunt in US because of all the suing, insurance risks etc in NZ majority of risk falls on the person unless the guide has deliberately put you in harms way, where you were unaware of the risk. Cheers
@@fisheatrepeat I understand what you are like you I have been stuck in mud for a time with the tide flooding in so I know how it feels for real. Just hope Marcus knows how to tell the widows and sons that there father is no more . If the shite should hit the fan Marcus do you have liability insurance for the cover of your customers?
@MrPaulmclaren722 yea fair enough. You could always wear an inflatable life jacket if unsure! We do that a lot land based game fishing off the rocks with big swell
Why target sharks? Fishing for food is one thing. Sharks are another. They are top of the food chain and because of over fishing are now becoming endangered. Just a thought.
@davebolland3185 hey mate! I don't usually target sharks it's mainly to test the capability of the drone. I used to do it up north (here) a lot as a teenager. I was going to release it if I caught it. I will eat shark but only small ones the larger sharks are full of heavy metals. In NZ bronze whaler are in NO WAY ENDANGERED and that's what we're after here. Great question tho cheers
Another Great video Dave. Awesome to see Colby along for the ride also.
@@DroneFishing-NZ cheers team!! Yea he's an awesome fishing companion eh usually very chill
that jetty in your video, can public use it or just for residents?
@flyingyoung4889 i hope public can use it! But when I chatted to locals before fishing there I wasn't told if was off limits? I assume on a busy day launching boats etc it would get annoying for them but there were none while we fished
@@fisheatrepeat thanks I asked because I saw a land based fishing charter is using this jetty to catch GT. It would be good if public can use it for sure.
@@flyingyoung4889 ah yep yea Robbies Charters eh? I would like to go on one! I'd just suggest asking the locals in case. This vid was 2 years ago now!
