Porsche 944 Exhaust Upgrade | Adding Borla XR1 Muffler and Jones Resonator
In this video, I will be removing the harsh tones from my 944's exhaust. I added a Borla Xr1 muffler and a Jones turbine resonator. I go over everything that I did in the video including the placement of the resonator and how I fabricated an exhaust mount to go along with my new modifications. This exhaust system is not stock however, I believe there is a Lindsey racing exhaust on it with performance headers.

In this video, I will show you how to access and remove the throttle body and MAF sensor on a 986 Porsche Boxster. These cars have issues with the throttle body getting caked in oil and carbon deposits, and this causes the flow of air through the throttle plate at idle to be obstructed. Is all this necessary to change the bulb for the battery light? My alternator is not working. Replaced the plug at the alternator. My battery light doesn't come on. Some say the bulb is not allowing it to compleye the circut. Thank you for your video

    • @TheMileHighMechanic

      Not quite sure what you are asking, but the bulb has nothing to do with the alternators ability to charge. The bulb should come on of the alternator is not charging. An easy way to tell if your alternator isn't working is to measure voltage with the engine on...it should be more than 12.5 volts...hope this helps

    That sounds actually insanely good. I’m actually wildly curious what kind of power your car is making with the cam, it looks like you’ve got some MSDS headers on there and now with a nice free flowing exhaust…. I bet you with a Lindsey MAF kit you might have a mid 7 second- maybe even a high 6 second car lol (0-60). Looks like you have a 3 inch exhaust setup. How does the car feel to drive? Is it super boggy in the lower end? It seems like it accelerates perfectly fine to me but everyone always says 3inch exhaust and longtube headers kills your torque but your torque looks just fine to me 😅

    • @TheMileHighMechanic
      @TheMileHighMechanic 14 дней назад

      So, I actually ran with a dragy gps system when I launched afterwards and I got some results that kind of surprised me... Albeit I still don't know how to properly launch this thing, and I don't like to beat on it That being said, my 0-60 time was 12.93 seconds...now the biggest factor is the altitude. I did this run at 7437 ft above sea level. Definitely not what it feels like, and my 986 boxster also timed really high at 9.31 seconds, so I think the altitude is playing a huge factor. Driving the car is pretty smooth when you are in the throttle. Due to the high overlap cam, you need to be either on or off the throttle at low speed or else it will buck a decent bit. I haven't really noticed any torque loss, but then again I don't have a reference point to compare against. If I ever feel like switching the ECU out to do the MAF kit I will, but for now I am pretty content with just hitting up some car shows every once and a while.

    • @TakeFlightGarage
      @TakeFlightGarage 14 дней назад

    Thanks for the video! Only note is to get the horn working, I had to cut the horn contact plate a bit, and bend it so it actually made contact with the adapters grounding ring. May have been what happened with yours. It doesn’t line up exactly and doesn’t make good contact, hence no grounding so no horn. I made it slightly skinner and bent it slightly outwards. I also had to change the hump location to more of the 9 o clock position relative to the adapter, then it was able to make contact with the ring, and get horn sounds
